Date of visit: August 19, 2017 One of the things that I like about Knott's Berry Farm is that it's consistent with its Western theme, and one result is a stagecoach ride around the park! The Butterfield Stagecoach runs as many as three during the day, with the lines being capped around 6:30 pm, and while the lines do get crowded (we had about an hour wait), at least they moved quickly once the coaches arrived at the station and passengers disembarked and were loaded on. You don't get a choice of seating here; we ended up on top of the coach facing backwards during our ride. But what you do get during the ten-minute ride are some great views of the crowds and the park as your horse-drawn carriage moseys down at a pretty good clip. (Not sure how much horsepower these carriages go at... at four horses per coach, I'm gonna guesstimate 4hp.) The ride may not be that smooth, but surprisingly, we didn't think we were too uncomfortable. And as we were on the roof, we had plenty of people waving to us - but then again, maybe it was because of the giant stuffed Pikachu I was carrying... Of course, the downside of facing backwards on top of a stagecoach is looking down as the horses go down the trail... and seeing their business along the path. I'm not sure how often the stagecoach path is cleaned between trips, but with as much as three coaches pulled by a team of four horses per carriage - thus equaling a total of twelve horses - well, that's a whole lot of horse pucky right there! Even if you get to sit outside of the coach instead of inside, the Butterfield Stagecoach is definitely worth waiting in line for the trip!

This review is mainly for my visit to Ghost Town ALIVE!…read more I have not been to Knott's Berry Farm since I was 10 years old, and was recently invited by my friend to go to the park, where he insisted we do the Ghost Town ALIVE experience. I did not know what I was getting myself into! For those who don't know, Knott's Ghost Town comes to life during the Summer and transforms into an almost 8-hour immersive experience. Characters come to life and act out a story which changes each day depending on the audience. As I entered, a townsperson introduced themselves and let me know that I can become a "town citizen" at Town Hall - and thus began my journey of the day! After being inducted, I traveled to the schoolhouse and was tasked to bring a letter to the "Calico Gazette". And then ran into some outlaws who invited me to join their team of bandits on a quest involving cattle wrangling and stealing blueprints. The day continued on meeting numerous different townsfolk and learning their stories, with them encouraging me to interact and go on adventures. -1 star because I stepped away to go on a ride which was over an hour wait. There were several other rides which had 2+ hour waits. I highly suggest setting aside a day devoted to Ghost Town for any and all ages and abilities!

(Way better then Disneyland) I would really recommend going to Knott's Berry Farm if you are visiting near here or live near. Love it!

Designed by legendary theme park creator Wendell "Bud" Hurlbut, the slow-moving, 8-minute dark ride takes passengers on a steam train through a highly detailed, bustling western gold mine. It is celebrated for its mix of realism and wonder, featuring deep underground caverns, waterfalls, geysers, and vibrant glowing stalagmites. Award: Calico Mine Ride received the THEA Classic award in 1998. The award honors exemplary, timeless attractions that have operated continuously for over 20 years and set new industry standards. Background On Upgrade: In January 2014, the ride underwent a massive refurbishment in partnership with Garner Holt Productions. This extensive makeover restored the classic attraction to its former glory by adding over 50 new animatronic figures, new lighting, and enhanced audio while still honoring the attraction's original charm. For a full point-of-view experience that takes you on a tour through all of the ride's detailed, subterranean scenes and glowing caverns: Visitation Rights: Been on this rides countless of times. My heart can't take all these other fast rides no more. Wait Time: Wait time can be long due to having only one train operating. It's a oldie, but goodie. Just keep calm and go with the flow. Location: Located in the Ghost Town section. Ambiance/Decor: A slow moving classic dark ride with animations. It smelled really bad last time when we were in the waiting queue. We originally thought it was the person in front of us... then we started pointing fingers at each other. LoL Once we left the area, the smell was gone. :) Calico Mine For Thought: I wouldn't mind riding the ride again. Hopefully, the smell won't be there the next time we go.

The place has been around quite some time and kids do tend to make a mess, but they keep up after it. Parking is for a fee, but sometimes you get a game card that comes with the parking. It can get crowded in the summer and on weekends. We go on week days and have been several times. Now, the prices in here add up fast so be mindful of that, but it is the same as other similar places. Miniature golf is about 16$, a go kart is about 12$, the arcade can really add up so get a card that you can use for the wide variety of games they have. The bumper boats and Disk Thrill Ride are about 12$ per person. We love their little train and that is about 5$. You can get a two hour wrist band and we do that and save a lot that way. All in all the prices are fair. The service there is nice and the place has a lot to offer, you don't have to do it all. There is a lot to do. They also have Birthday Parties there and that is great. It is super fun.

While it may not be somewhere we'd go or come.. for a vacation, it's definitely worth visiting for a day. The only negative experience we had involved an employee named Stephanie who was working the family raft slide. She came across as though she genuinely didn't want to be there. It didn't ruin our visit by any means, but when you're in a family-focused environment, a friendly attitude goes a long way. Also, during one of our turns on the family slide, the wait was noticeably longer than it should have been compared to all of our previous rides, which slowed things down a bit. Definitely a bit miss managed as it seems as 1-2 employees max were bouncing back and forward to push the rafts down. Something that popped into mind free of charge lol. One suggestion for the marketing team: consider giving away complimentary waterproof phone pouches. They cost only a few dollars at retail store ( Walmart ) so I'd imagine they could be purchased in bulk at a much lower cost. Guests would use them throughout the park, and many would likely take pictures and post all over there social media as I saw almost every partner with one,I know I did and will posting family pic and already have all the family said they'd want to come..giving Great Wolf Lodge free advertising and great brand exposure every time they're used elsewhere. It seems like a small investment that could create a lasting impression. Overall, a solid 4-star experience. We'd come back again.
