Worst experience ever at Butterfields southern Cafe this morning, two people one a amputee in a. wheelchair was told a 10 to 15 minute wait after waiting a half hour I checked again inside and was told there was no table for a wheelchair. They are waiting for availability after checking again after 45 minutes I was told still no availability for a wheelchair, but they are very busy and trying to accommodate us, yet we watched multiple people go in and out of the restaurant. After speaking to the hostess, I asked why they were not able to accommodate a wheelchair again her answer were very busy. Butterfields seems to discriminate against the disabled with not making allowances for wheelchair access. read more

My mom lived in West Palm Beach for a number of years before she passed away about 8 years ago. Her favorite restaurant was Butterfield's and when we would visit, we always went there for a great breakfast. I didn't know there were more of them and when I had a house built in Palmetto and was driving around one day, I was shocked to find a Butterfield's not too far away. Well, this Butterfield's is simply exceptional. You get a great breakfast for a great price and all of the servers are the most positive, friendly, and super efficient people you could ask for. You can see the place is filled with many regulars- some who demand to use a certain cup or plate, some who want to sit in the same spot, and some who order the same thing all the time, etc. and the servers are all over it. They make all the customers very happy. The food is great, I love their pancakes, they always cook my over easy eggs perfectly, and they have so many options on the menu that everyone can find something they like. I really appreciate that they offer both hash browns and home fries- you don't see that very often. If you go there on a weekend morning, you're bound to find the place is very full and there is a line of people outside, waiting to get in. Don't fret, the line moves pretty quickly and you'll be seated and served before you get to hangry. I can't stress enough how nice the servers are. Sometimes a place this busy can wear on servers and they can get short with customers, but hot here- these folks are super nice and they really aim to please. First of all, the food here was fabulous. We ordered brunch: pancakes, biscuits and gravy and a club sandwich. Everything was delicious. But we won't be dining in again unless they freshen up the damp/mildew smell. It just smells very old and musty. It was hard to stick around and enjoy our meal. The service was good. read more

A no frills diner with yummy breakfast food and friendly service. We went for a late breakfast last Saturday around 11 a.m., and there was a short wait as expected. We had been here twice during peak hours and were seated within 10-15 minutes. Our waitress was attentive, and food came out quickly. The omelet portion was generous. Great spot with the sweetest employees and delicious food! Found this place on Yelp while looking for a place to meet family for lunch. Great menu with lots of options for all ages. The prices are reasonable and the potions are generous. Tonya our waitress so friendly and the young blond lady with a braid, was so nice and kept her cool during the craziness of the lunch rush. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but the layout of the seating was very odd which made it hard to get through to go to the bathroom. What a cute spot with friendly service and tasty food. My friend runs the thrift store in the same plaza and we met up for lunch on a Sat. We got there about 12:30p and it was hoppin'! Luckily we got a table with no wait. She said they make everything fresh and she has enjoyed everything she has tried before. I got the chicken salad on toasted sourdough with lettuce and it is in my top 3 chicken salad sammie. It is smooth and creamy, no big onions or fruit or nuts or celery but amazing flavor... not sure of their secret, but YUM!! The potato salad was good too. My friend got a california wrap with fried okra. She enjoyed the wrap, okra was better once she salted it. Our other friend enjoyed the meat lovers breakfast skillet. This is a hidden local GEM that is family owned and operated. It's usually packed so be prepared to wait or get lucky and sit at the bar (6 or so seats). We read the great reviews and decided to try it out. The portions were very large and it's a good thing cause we were starving! The biscuits were perfectly grilled and huge - this combined with my American skillet was mouth watering and totally hit the spot. There is an extensive menu of options so jump right in. We were visiting family and they recommended Butterfield's for breakfast. What a treat. The menu had everything you would wane for breakfast. The service was quick and super friendly. The food was prepared well and everything came out at a good temperature. The ambience was what you would expect from a hometown establishment that has obviously been around a long time. The place was packed but the wait was very reasonable. In fact we ran into a young friend from NJ who was in in the area visiting his parents. What a small world it is. My niece had the kids menu 1 egg and bacon with toast, which there were at least 5 pieces of bacon with this order. My nephew had the butterfield special which had 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat (he got sausage links), choice of 2 pancakes or 2 French toast slices - which he chose French toast with whipped cream, cinnamon + powdered sugar (SO delicious!) I ordered a broccoli and cheddar omelette with hash browns and a biscuit and got a side of sausage gravy. We were in and out in about an hour's time. Everything was great. We had always heard great things from my neighbor about this pace and always say the lines waiting to get in. So we decide to get there first thing on a Saturday morning to try this place out. The waitress was super nice so we ordered two Blueberries Muffins grilled since she said they make them fresh. The Mrs got a Greek omelette and I order the country eggs Benedict with yolk medium with 2 coffees. The waitress walked over to the cooler on the dining room floor and announced to us that we were lucky that we getting two of the last three muffins. They were wrapped up in plastic wrap in a cooler?? When she came back with the coffee she informed that she had called the owner and told him to go to Walmart to get more muffin mix!! She continued to tell us that he informed her that it has to come off of the truck order. When we got the grilled muffins they were beyond moist and tasted like a manufactured muffin you get at a convenience store. Needles to say we both didn't finish them. The main course showed up and the Mrs Omelette was very dried looks and wasn't really to her liking. My country eggs Benedict and it too quickly disappointed. It was bland and tasteless. It lacked and actual sausage crumble in it. The sauge link under the runny translucent egg yolk was dried out. This is a local privately owned breakfast and lunch place that is purely maintained by the locals. This is not a touristy area and it is within a plaza, drive too fast, you will miss it. I had the smoked sausage skillet with two eggs, two types of cheese over hash browns, with peppers and onions. They call it the American skillet, so good. It comes with a side of bread, toast, english muffin or their homemade huge biscuit. I went with their bread and it tasted like it was homemade too. The menu is extensive and you will not leave hungry. The service is friendly and these ladies know the menu. No worries, you can get to eat your food just about anyway you want it. Now keep in mind, this is a grill diner style menu, so some of your food might be a bit greasier than others, but they really try to help you out. We were dining with my mom, and she struggles with grease, they re-did the smoked sausage, because they knew they could do better. Brought out the rest of the food and explained the kitchen was redoing the smoked sausage for my mom with less butter. WOW! Calina, our server was super kind to watch out for my mom like that! When all the food was served, silence fell upon us, Yes, it was that good. Mind you, the food is well made, the service is on point, and the coffee is hot. Tables are quickly cleaned and set for the next group. The inside is small, with some booths and tables, plus a small counter. the parking lot was big and on a Sunday, plenty of stops. I stopped into Butterfields recently while I was in the area for a business appointment. The interior looks like a perfect little family owned restaurant. The staff and service were fantastic ! The prices are very reasonable. I'm a big fan of corned beef hash so when I saw that it was made in house I had to try it. It was good but a little bit dry for my liking. Everything else was great. I was offered a nice selection of teas. My server was incredibly kind and friendly. I got the same impression about the other servers there also. I will definitely give Butterfields another try when I'm in the area. read more
