The food took a good bit of time, but everyone was hustling. My cuban was just OK. It was kind of thin and had little substance. The fries were very bland. Lots of salt and ketchup didn't help much. We love this little breakfast and lunch spot in downtown Bradenton. The staff are super friendly, and they always have yummy specials available. My husband, on this visit, ordered his usual favorite: banana pancakes. There was light fluffy, and tasty as always. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat, with a side of potato salad. Their potato salad has a mustard and mayo dressing, and is delicious! The chicken salad was good--but lacked a bit of seasoning. In the past, I have gotten their burger, which I think I would order again as I really loved the burger. On my next visit, I plan to arrive at breakfast time, and I will try the oatmeal for breakfast, along with a side of their homemade corn beef hash. Maybe I will even treat myself to a grilled homemade cinnamon roll! Keep in mind that this is a breakfast and lunch place only. They close at 2 PM. read more

Thr Saturday farmers market makes it a busy time in Bradenton, but we found an empty table outside to enjoy a meal. Our server quickly took our order and brought our drink. I was happy I could order lunch and my husband could get breakfast. We waited a long time for our food and the server finally told us the kitchen was backed up. When my food arrived, it was nice and hot and looked great. I thought it was going to be deli meat, but it was a real chicken sandwich and it was very good. The fries were nothing special, but they were nice and hot. Our server never came to check on us or offer a drink refill. Decent place, worth a shot. read more

I hate to say it but I truly feel like I would have been better off going thru a drive thru. I got a side of hash browns, bagel with cream cheese, the spinach quiche and a side of biscuits and gravy. Hash browns were undercooked and tasteless. Spinach quiche left a lot to be desired. The sausage gravy was fine but the biscuits were not of any decent quality. The bagel was good, soft and served warm and the cream cheese was actually real and not the fake stuff. All in all I am decently full but could feel this way off $3 fries from McDonalds and had extra money in my pocket. Unfortunately I wouldn't give this place a second try. read more

Made a last minute decision to stop here for breakfast on our way out of town and boy, did we do well. We each had egg dishes-- Robin's special (scrambled egg with spinach, mushrooms & cheese) and a veggie omelette adding ham. The veggie omelette came out square. It was like they had wrapped all of the deliciousness inside and gift wrapped it. The egg was thin and delicate and I don't know what cheese they use, but it made everything inside creamy and delicious-- almost like an egg wrapped casserole. Soooo good. We both got the hash brown casserole as a side and you could tell it was homemade, in the best possible way. The coffee was good and served in heavy, old school diner mugs. We also ordered a griddled cinnamon roll to go, so excited to try that later today. All in all, Robin's Downtown Cafe was a lovely and delicious stop. read more

i come in and sit down cause the sign says so. waitress takes my order after i say i want to-go. then she says "ill need you to sit *out there* because we're getting busy" ... doesn't say how long the wait is, just clearly treats me like a takeout order means i should be out in the florida humid sun.... do they put their menu online so people can order without coming in and sitting down at a table and time their arrival for when food is ready? No! Do they put their menus at the front cashier desk so i can read it and order without ever sitting down? NO! they just treat me like i'm a waste of space cause they ASSUME a tip won't come of it. Great location on Old Main St I stopped in at Robin's shortly after they opened on this Wednesday, the place already more than half full with customers. Even still, I had coffee in just a couple of minutes. Great start. I took a look at the menu and decided on their homemade corn beef hash & eggs. This is often my go-to dish when eating out for breakfast. It took about 15 minutes, a little slow for breakfast, but I thought it was because I came in right behind a lot of customers that arrived just after they opened. That may not have been the entire reason, I timed another couple as I was finishing up and their food still took over 10 minutes. I was not too impressed with the hash, mainly because it lacked the flavor of corned beef. I wish they would up the ratio of corned beef and maybe instead of grinding this down to such a fine consistency, include some noticeable pieces of corned beef. I liked the place, and service was very good. The location is also great, right in the heart of Bradenton at Old Main St. read more

Great location for a hearty breakfast! It's in the same street as the Bradenton Farmers Market so it's convenient if you want to grab a bite then walk around and support the local markets. The wife got french toast and strawberries with bacon and scrambled eggs. I had country fried chicken with hash brown and toast. The hash brown casserole as I had read was yummy , my bacon had a strange taste- not sure how you mess up bacon and the place needed a little TLC. The staff was pleasant although I had to get up and help myself to utensils for my table after waiting quite awhile for someone and just gave up . Hopped in on the morning of the Riverwalk Regatta. Easily seated and quickly served coffee, order taken etc. The menu has some millennial stuff, but also standard (and good) diner breakfast fare! I had and outstanding three cheese omelet with bacon. My uncle ordered very specifically like limp bacon and over medium eggs... all this came perfectly with a nice twinkle in the eyes as they yukked it up... overall a great breakfast on a Saturday morning! This was a nice find for 2 hungry travelers! Ordered the Reuben on rye with fries and it was scrumptious!! Good portions, freshly made, and the fries were great! Found this place when we went to visit the Bradenton Farmer's Market. Delicious! Great hometown atmosphere! Definitely try their specials! We tried their Grilled Hashbrown Casserole and Blueberry Smothered Banana Pancakes. Both were amazing!! Imagine a cheesy hashbrown casserole, scoop some out and slapped on a hot griddle... YUMMMMMMM... it was a toasty, cheesy, delicious potato pancake. And the banana pancakes were so GREAT too!! Big chunks of fresh bananas strewn throughout fluffy pancakes, with fresh blueberry compote all over it. I know this sounds fake but we were really impressed with our first visit here!
