A love letter to my nail salon. Last year I decided to start having my nails done and I lucked out and found this little salon in west Olympia. These folks are amazing in their creativity and ability. Every idea I bring in they accomplish perfectly. They are so kind and caring and always make you feel very appreciated and comfortable. This small bit of self care has brought so much joy to my life and I love butterfly nails. I will be a lifetime client here.

Today was my second time going here to give it another chance. The first gel manicure I received peeled in under 1 week, other than that it was great. This time I was cut several times, and would not stop bleeding. I even had to ask for a bandaid after they told me I was finished. There are rough spots on my manicure, which she noticed at "fixed" one by filing it down and leaving it, which is basically dooming that nail for failure as it lots it's top coat, and there's a ton of gel under one of my nails. Not only was the service this time sub par, but for someone to be cut this badly and not even receive a discounted service or something for next time is really poor customer service. Will not be back!

This is my second time coming to Butterfly Spa, and they remembered me and were so kind to me. My previous nails lasted for 28 days.. with no breaks or chips or anything! I could have had them on for another week. I work at a coffee shop and open a lot of soda and energy drink cans a day and still no broken nails. I am so impressed! I have been coming to this salon for 8 years- I have witnessed the change of several ownerships, and even though I've always been a happy customer, Steve and Ruby are the best owners to date! The changes they have made in the past year are wonderful and their entire staff is friendly, kind, attentive, and go out of their way to make my visits beyond special. I've always gone for pedicures, but after about a decade, I've decided to get acrylic nails again, and I am so very thrilled with the job they did! My nails are gorgeous and exactly how I want them. The place is very clean, well ventilated, the new sink installed is so convenient and the pedicure chairs are a true spa experience. I especially love how sweet everyone is. Always smiling, and providing excellent service. All this AND their prices are SUPER affordable! I highly recommend this nail salon!

I asked the lady when I got a pedicure to watch out for my obvious huge scars from my ankle surgery and she just kept rubbing them hard over my scar tissue and grabbing where my incisions were I asked her multiple times to be careful she was not gentle at all and made a lot of remarks about how I have skin around my nails.. I have to live with cutting them once or twice a week and I know I have skin, it's not my fault I have skin on my nails that buildup around my fingernails.. I'm human. read more

My friend literally ran out crying from this establishment and sent me photos and texts telling me not to come here. The sides of her fingers were raw and red from the mistreatment and it was a basic gel manicure. I've had lots of full sets done and I've never had my hands look or feel in such a condition as my friends looked and felt. Also her nails looked horrible like there was dirt under her nail (she asked for a basic black tip) which was wiped off, not cured correctly and looked like how I would do my nails in high school with sharpie or highlighter. They also wouldn't let her leave when she asked and even forced her to pay for the horrendous service. My friend is polite and wouldn't want to rock the boat but I also don't want anyone to be treated like she was last week so beware! read more

I've been looking for my nail place, and I think I've found it. After going to a different place and having sore fingers for over a week, I was looking for a place that could give me a dip manicure and not tear up my fingers. Ruby at Butterfly nails did amazing! I loved this place before it changed owners. I just went recently for the first time since since quarantine, and found out that it was under new ownership. I was so disappointed and I will never go back. I loved butterfly nails before but this experience was awful. Instead of leaving my nails the nice length they were, they cut them all down even after I protested, then after showing them the my nails before they did the manicure and asking them to please remember the shape that I like, and after a ridiculously long conversation about the shape which felt more like an argument, and after showing them pictures of what I like, the shape was still all wrong. I decided not to say anything and just shape them myself when I got home. The next day two of the tips they had put on my nails fell off, and two days later another one fell off. read more

I broke about 1/2 of my big toenail off on Friday...don't be jealous, I have many talents-not everyone can be as clumsy as me! ‍ Anyway, I tried all weekend to keep gluing it back together, kept a bandaid on it, just hoping I could manage until it grew out so I wouldn't be walking around looking as if I tangled with a mountain lion, using only one toe as a weapon. I made it until Tuesday and then started calling around in desperation. Butterfly Nails & Salon got me in same day, fixed my toenail with NO PAIN, and you can't even tell that I butchered half of it off by merely existing. Also, everyone there was beyond sweet! I will 100% be going back! Beyond fixing my poor damaged nail, the rest of the pedicure was simply amazing! My feet still feel wonderful! (The big toe on my right foot is the one they had to build for me!) read more

Since Emily & Than sold the business quality just isn't there any more. First time I tried new people my nails came off by my next fill causing me to purchase a new set. Second time my nails are lifting which she really doesn't address this time. Third strike you're out! Acrylic left where it shouldn't be & the nails that lifted last time look horrible & nail looks deformed. Love the color but it looks like I have grow out and I just got them done! My friend never picks at them like me and she is so unhappy. There is acrylic all over where it shouldn't be. She loves the color but it looks like she hasn't had them done in a while & we just got them done. 2 of my cuticle beds are inflamed & sore. Now we will be finding somewhere else as they don't need our business. read more

Honestly, this place was out of my way but the reviews made me want to come here. Plus I had a terrible job done at the last salon so I really wanted to get my nails fixed and feel good about myself. I want to say you can tell this place is run by a female presence. The whole salon is beautiful, attention to detail and compassion. I wasnt rushed or felt pressured. Great pedicure experience today! The salon is lovely, calming, and very clean. I got standard pedicure which include cut down, soak, exfoliating scrub on legs and feet, 30 minute massage including hot stones, and polish all for $23! Ask for Tan, he'll take care of your tired, winter abused feet. read more

I started coming here a month or so ago and I will not go anywhere else! After Emily left the salon she worked at before (she was my nail tech for a couple years), I was never as satisfied with other nail techs. Emily does an amazing job with dip powder and nail shaping. I've tried multiple places but only her dip powder manicure looks great for 3+ weeks (after that it just grows out) and she doesn't use a UV light. She's the one I credit with helping me grow out my thin, slow growing nails - they look great now. Emily is a perfectionist and won't leave a customer unsatisfied. I remember one time I went to her to get my nails done for my high school graduation and I wanted the color to match my crimson gown. I did my best to choose the color from the nail samples and she started doing my dip powder with extensions. Unfortunately with dip powder, you can't tell the true color until later in the process, and that's when I noticed the color was not what I was hoping for. I told Emily that I wished I had chosen a different color, not expecting anything of course (this was at least 15-20 minutes in), and she immediately started clipping off my extensions and removing her perfectly applied dip powder and said "I will fix it!". I was shocked. She helped me select a better color and redid all my nails while the salon was busy for no extra charge! My new manicure looked awesome. I'm so glad she opened up her own salon. Everyone there, such as her mother, Tammy, is friendly and warm and the salon is very clean and comfortable. I love that you get a shoulder massage with a manicure and that I can schedule appointments online through Facebook. All of this and the prices are competitive. I recommend her salon to everyone I know. read more

Amazing! Emily is the most detail oriented nail tech I have ever had do my nails, she always gets the shape exactly how I envision! I have gotten my nails done by her 4 times now and they have always been perfect and high quality. Even when I couldn't get my nails filled during the closures due to Covid, the acrylic set she had put on right before lasted me 5 weeks and didn't lift or chip. I was very impressed with her work! I've been coming here lately for pedicures and have been happy with the services but I'm not happy with the full set services. I asked for short round and the nails are way too long, they were in a rush so a couple of the nails are crooked, and they didn't do the design I asked for ... They didn't even do a design. I started going to this place a few months ago and I have been very happy with it. It is clean, organized, the tools are properly sanitized and the technicians all speak very good English and are very friendly. However, strange things are happening lately. This morning I received a message that my next week's pedicure appointment was canceled. There was no explanation. I called them a few times and nobody answered the phone. I emailed them but received no response. It is so disappointing to find a nice nail salon and then have to go through such hassle. read more

I made an appointment at Butterfly nails after seeing my friend's cute manicure but didn't get further than the waiting area, where I waited for 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start without being helped. I told my friend about it and according to them, this is a regular occurrence. Not being helped after 30 minutes over my appointment start time is a dealbreaker for me. I was very disappointed, and I hope they can manage their time/customer workload better because my friend's nails were super cute. read more

I moved to the Olympia area from Seattle a little over a year ago and was looking for a new pedicure spot. My must haves are a clean and sanitary environment, quality service, friendly staff and affordable pricing. This place is great! I typically get a pedi every other month and have never been disappointed with the work they do here. I have had services from several of the gals here as well as the gentleman. They all seem to pay attention to detail AND do a great job with the massage portion of the service... my favorite part! My pedis literally last 6-8 weeks and their prices are very reasonable. I moved to the area a few months ago and was looking for a new salon to go to for my acrylics. I decided to try Butterfly Nails and Spa because it was within walking distance of my apartment. I am SO happy I decided to try them out. I have been coming here on a consistent basis and have tried many of their services. I get my acrylics done which I think they do amazing on, always the right thickness, shape, and color and never weak. (I am super active and my nails last longer here than they have anywhere else that I've gone). I have tried 3 of their pedicures, the basic, the baby butt and the cooling treatment. All are wonderful and feel amazing but the baby butt is to die for. (My mom even comes an hour away to get the baby butt pedicure since she has such dry and cracked feet). The cooling treatment feels so nice, my advice would be to not shave right before though. I have had their full volume set of lashes put on. I love waking up in the morning and not having to worry about mascara or anything! (Disclaimer: I have never had my lashes done anywhere else so I have no comparison but they look and feel great!) Lastly, I had my eyebrows tinted here as well. I wasn't in love with them but I didn't hate them either. I am a red head and I have never had great experiences with getting my eyebrows tinted ANYWHERE I think just due to the coloring. I think that if you just have a normal color of hair though there is nothing wrong with the service or products for tinting - it just didn't work for me personally! I have brought many friends and family here and everyone always enjoys themselves. I would most definitely recommend giving them a shot! I absolutely love butterfly nails I can't thank Ruby and Steve enough for all the amazing sets they do for me and how kind they are! I've been going here for years and I'd never go anywhere else they are so kind do amazing work! Last week I went in and I took off my wedding ring and I thought I left it there and Steve and Ruby went back to the store after closing to look for it! It was found! At other salons, most of the time when I get my nails done I don't complain but I just settle with them not looking how'd I'd like. So... I'm picky! Fairly priced, great quality, and overall a terrific value. I routinely visit for dip acrylic and occasionally indulge in extra nail art or a pedicure. In all scenarios, I've always been thrilled with the results. Both Ruby and Steve have taken great care of me, are gentle, and have been so helpful to mend a broken nail from general wear and tear between my typically scheduled appointments. I have been in WA almost 4 years and no nail salon ever compared to them I was the 1st one in on a Monday for a full set and pedicure, although the pedicure could've been better my nails are AMAZING ! If you are looking for great quality nails this is the place. I will never go anywhere else from now on. I literally show him a picture of what I wanted and he did just that. Very talented I love it. I absolutely love & highly recommend this Nail Salon! I made an appointment for an acrylic fill both times. Steve was my nail tech and I left satisfied. Steve is gentle with my nails, listens to what I ask for, the designs he does come out amazing, and my nails are done in less than 2 hours. It's affordable (around $45 for the fill & design), clean, quiet, relaxing, and even my apartment manager has been coming here for the last 20years. I have gone to a lot of different nail salons in my home town of Aberdeen and around Olympia none of them compare to Butterfly Nails. The other salons won't do designs or can't duplicate the picture I give them of the designs I want and I was never satisfied with the results but at Butterfly Nails Ruby and Steve do amazing work and the designs are better than the pictures I give them. I have never been so happy with a set of acrylics! I live in vancouver and needed to find a salon in Olympia as I will be getting married up there in July. I found Butterfly Nails on yelp and decided to check them out! I absolutely love how they turned out. As a preschool teacher, I like to keep my nails short and most places make them longer than I'd like. But at butterfly nails they made them the perfect length!
