This is by far the best nail salon in Olympia. After a perfect pedicure, they do a salt scrub on your shins. After expert gel polish they massage your legs with oil and then hot stone and then hot towels. Nancy is my favorite but everyone is excellent. Great energy. Everybody's happy and working away. My daughter and I came here for two gel manicures. We don't typically have extra funds to do this so it is a very big treat for us. Upon walking in, we were immediately overcome by a very strong chemical smell. We had appointments and did not want to be rude and leave but it was very strong and did not seem ventilated at all. The place appeared dirty and cluttered. Not a relaxing environment. The decor was plastic flowers and pictures of hands holding bubbles, strawberries, and a rose. Not trying to be mean, but it was not aesthetically pleasing or relaxing, which is the main reason I come to get my nails done. The person who did my nails cut them so short, without even asking. I like active length and these are almost to the quick. One nail was left long though, yay? They used cuticle clippers to clean the undersides of our nails, which hurt both of us and we have never had that done before. I also don't feel super confident that the instruments were sterilized as they were pulled out of a basket rather than individual packets, which most places use now. The "massage" portion of the manicure left my daughter and I wishing we had the balls to tell them to stop. Why do I lose my assertiveness in places like this? The guy literally pounded my back with his fists, it was not relaxing and I was wincing the entire time. Not to mention, he took the hood from my sweatshirt I was wearing and put it over my head without asking, to the point my eyes were covered (my hands were still drying so I wasnt able to lift it - but rather, sat there with my back being pounded and not being able to see). My daughter said her "massage" also hurt. She said she was wincing the entire time the gal was pounding her arms hoping it would be over soon. The positive and reason for one star- they had great color choices of nail polish and the people doing our nails were nice enough. My daughter likes her nails but said she wouldn't want to come back. I agree. I wish this business the best but we won't be back. Update 3/17- 8 of of 10 nails are badly chipped. My daughter has the same issue. Waste of money. Disappointing. read more

Moved here recently and have now been to Fancy Nails 4 times with 4 different nail techs. EVERY SINGLE ONE has been fantastic! I love seeing the truly creative nails that they craft for others, but due to my position I need a great professional mani/pedi without the bells and whistles. They do a spectacular job, and the extra treatment that comes with the spa mani/pedi is over the top relaxing. Note - they are GOOD and they are busy so please make an appointment before showing up. He was friendly and paid attention to details. I asked that my nails be short and functional and he listened. He was the first 1 to ever do them as short as I wanted. I have found my new nail parlor. Don't be fooled by the sketchy outside appearance next to the tattoo shop. Inside is like most other budget nail salons, but this is the first where the massage lasted as long as the rest of the pedicure. I was in a treat yo self mood, so I went ahead with the deluxe pedicure, which includes organic lotions and scrubs, along with callus removal and paraffin wax. I walked in the door, was seated right away once I picked my color. Their color selection was great, no complaints. My nail technician was super sweet and was very attentive to how hot the water was and was very gentle with my feet. I had not had a pedicure in quite some time and she definitely spent a good amount of time catching my feet up to feel good again. The massage was excellent - with the deluxe you get a hot stone massage. The paint job was fine, considering my nails were short to begin with. Charged me $95 for a full set when it's normally $60. I should have noticed the red flags in the beginning whenever I would come there would always be someone complaining about an up charge. The owner is so sweet! This was the second time we have been there. The first their hot water wasn't working. They did everything they could to make it work! Bringing in big things of hot water! And made sure everyone was taken care of! We've brought my younger cousin (9) with us and they treat her like a queen making sure she's enjoying her time! It's decent prices. My gel nails started chipping two days after they were done- AND I wasn't even picking! The ventilation was horrible too- I felt I was letting my middle school health teacher down inhaling all those fumes. They had a nice selection of colors- not just for the polish but the walls, too. I'm not sure what was up with the brown stains randomly placed throughout the building. Who knows? Maybe it's a modern art concept I'm not in tune with, butttt I'm pretty sure it might have been dirt or mold. read more

The pedicure is aeesome!! As for nail services. .. Don't waste your time or money. I called ahead and made appointment for pedicure and ACRYLICS. They did my daughter's nails while I got the pedicure then switched. My daughters nails were pretty but her fingers were sore. I watched them use the acrylic powder on both of us then put a gel polish on and charged us for GEL nails. I said we asked for acrylics he nodded I said you automatically put gel on without asking... He said see they are shiny and charged for gel. The next day my nails were lifting from the bed and turning yellow. I went back in on the 3rd day to complain and request them removed and refunded. They admitted knowing we requested acrylics and saw my nails lifting and said it was grow out. Then they said we fix 3 nails. They said the yellow was part of the clear tip with glitters. I repeated they remove them and refund. They said we fix 3 nails. Like I would trust them a 2nd time. read more

Got a fill with gel polish. Nail tech was brutal with the dremel... didn't do a base coat...Didnt do cuticle oil or lotion when done and other nail techs were giving a hand.. arm and shoulder massages. When he was done with my polish he got up and walked off. Wont be back. read more

The only place who does my nails with the most natural look. I HATE thick square nails. I made that very clear when I previously went to Studio 7 (who by the way charged me twice as much!) and they still did exactly what I asked them not to, not to mention seemed pretty stuck up. I started going to Fancy Nails because my friend goes there and her nails always look so natural and beautiful even after 3 weeks!! I've had my third visit here now and am reminded once again that I have no need to try any other place out. They are always so nice, never scold me about my nails like most nail places do and always hook me up price-wise. Nancy and her crew are always a delight to be around. I admire how hard they all work to keep the place running. I have been going there for several years and we enjoy our time there very much. My husband and I enjoy the service as it is relaxing and TOP notch. I have gone to many other salons in the area when I have been to busy to make it over there, each time I am disappointed in myself for not driving over to see Nancy and her crew because she ends up fixing the mistakes other salons make. If you don't want to be over charged and disappointed, go somewhere else! visited this location because it's near my home. They were very friendly which is the only reason for two stars. I was charged an extra $10 between mani and pedi for a gel coat I didn't agree to pay for nor was I asked. The associate who did my nails cut into the skin around my fingernail on 3 different fingers. I pulled away in pain repeatedly and it wasn't until it happened several times on one finger causing it to break the skin and bleed that he said oops sorry. Sadly the pedicure was unsatisfactory, weak massage, no scrubbing or callous removal, only a swipe over the foot with soap and the brush(I got the deluxe spa one for $35) I am unimpressed with my completed nails and will not return. read more

Came here specifically due to the great reviews I read online. Went in and had a fair pedicure at the time but shortly thereafter a few of my toes really began to throb. Now both my big toes and a third little one all have painful hangnails. Bright red glossy skin, just feels like they are getting infected. I did go right back the next day to see if they could do anything and was seated and soaked for a good ten minutes before they worked on the biggest nail, but all they did was dig and cut to where I was clutching the chair hoping not to scream in pain. Didn't even try to work the other two toes I had trouble with. Days later and nothing is better and don't know what to do... guess I will see a podiatrist. Two stars as they did try to fix it, this isn't a bitter one star attack. Just my experience. read more
