I purchased some of these delectable minis on a whim on my way out from the 626 Night Market, and it might have been the smartest thing I did all day. I'm no stranger to the complexities and different layers of textures and flavors that go into the making of the "perfect" macaron, and I have had my fair share over my foodie career. But these girls are doing something truly special with their little concoctions that pack more punch per macaron than a dozen cakes put together. Each individual one has the perfect amount of flavor and balance of sweetness, and you can really taste the delicate undertones of whatever it is their putting in there; whether it's a slightly sweet Raspberry, a nutty Black Sesame, a sweet & savory Salted Caramel, or the ever-popular Ube Sweet Potato, I have yet to get one that I didn't absolutely love. Macarons aren't the only sweets they're cranking out, either. They also make these tiny adorable cupcakes that are almost too cute to eat- although that never stopped me- and as with the macarons, they're not overpowering in their sweetness, but perfectly balanced, with enough heft to satisfy that sweet tooth, but small enough that you won't hate yourself later, (unless you're like me and scarf down four, at once). So, if you're fortunate to come across these beauties at your next festival or event, DO NOT pass them up. They are worth every penny, and then some. read more

I found ButterSweet Minis and Sheila on Yelp, impressed by the great reviews. She doesn't have storefront (though that's surely inevitable) and sells her treats at the Brentwood Farmer's Market, but I needed 1000 mini French Macarons. That's a lot more than a typical order, but Sheila was up for the challenge. I needed 8 flavors of macarons in two hues of red, blue, green and yellow. Sheila made one special trip to our office to see the furniture she needed to match the colors to, and then made another trip to go through the different types of display containers for the cookies. The displays matched the shape of the style of furniture in each room - she was so wonderful about working with our space to ensure the cookies were a highlight and enhancement to the space. Not only was Sheila great at focusing on the details of the event, she was flexible. We had to move the event date twice - not something either of us wanted but even so she was very reasonable with the overage charges due to the change of plans and rolled with the punches really well, which says a lot of a smaller, independent vendor. I am burying the lead here, but the product is AMAZING. The french macarons are terrific. I knew the Yelp reviews were true when I tasted the sample box and knew I'd have a hard time picking "just" 8 flavors for our event. The day of the event people were moving quickly from room to room in order to try all of the flavors. Salted Caramel was gone in a flash and Mint Chocolate was another favorite. I personally think the Ube Coconut is a fantastic unusual flavor everyone should try. So my review on the actual cookies is not just from me, but 300+ employees where I work who were gobbling them up with smiling faces. read more

Love the macaroons! They were one of the vendors at the Drunken Foodie Dessert Cart event today and the macaroons were delicious. They offer a bunch of unique flavors, including a habanero-curry caramel macaroon which was my favorite. It was sweet and had a nice bite at the end. I also tried a black sesame and a raspberry-strawberry. Both were tasty, light and creamy in the middle. I'm one of those girls that like to bake, so I usually never order baked goods (seriously, I only ordered a wedding cake... everything else was always home made). But I was swamped with work recently while trying to plan my baby shower. I decided to throw in the towel and just look for a decent bakery with affordable prices. That is when I found ButterSweet Minis on here. I honestly can't say enough good things about Sheila and the red velvet cupcakes I ordered! Being a little skeptical, I felt like it was impossible for this place to have 5 stars after 15 reviews. Is that possible? I mean, I chalked it up to all 15 people being her friend and just doing her a favor. But I can honestly say I've never met Sheila before (until she delivered the cupcakes) and I'm not her friend - but I REALLY want to be! Sheila was very responsive when I first contacted her through the website. From there we exchanged emails through out the day and she was very accommodating. I was only putting my order in 6 days before my baby shower (I really struggled to let go of the homemade cupcake notion) and she made everything happen. I also told her that although I love red velvet cupcakes, the theme of my baby shower was orange and blue (it's a boy) and asked if there was a way that she could cover up the red parts of the cupcake so it wouldn't stand out too much - she did that and more! The cupcakes were delicious, Sheila made ordering and everything super easy, and again, she couldn't have been more accommodating. She even took measurements of her cupcakes for me because I had already ordered cute cupcake flags (toppers) that I really wanted to use for the shower. Sorry for the long rant, but like I said in the beginning of my review, I can't say enough great things about this business. I'm glad I found a bakery that makes great baked goods for a decent price! Peanut butter was my favorite. These minis melt in your mouth and have sooooo much flavor. I am still thinking about them days and days later. I don't know if their product is good or not since they have not responded to my attempts to place an order. I can't comment on their product, but my experience leads me to think they have terrible customer service. Three days ago, I submitted a question through their website and followed up with a phone call to place an order, but I still haven't heard back. I've had to make other arrangements. If they are not going to return calls or answer messages, they should remove those options from their website. It's unfortunate that they don't seem interested in a customer who is connected with lots of event planners at a very large organization. read more
