Stopped by Victor Benes to pick up a birthday cake for a small gathering. I found a stunning little cake. On the outside it had a beautiful white buttercream frosting and pink flowers. On the inside it had a chocolate whipped cream filling. It was a small cake (5 inches) which is what I was looking for. The cake was so, so good. Everyone loved it! Pricing was very fair. Customer service was excellent. Viktor Benes is one of my favorite bakeries. It is located inside Gelson's Market in the Westfield Century City Shopping mall. They validate for parking as long as you spend $10. read more

Been going to the location in Gelson's Century City since the '90s (30+ yrs)...been to other locations (like in the SF Valley) but this is the best. My favorites are their chocolate eclairs (high quality chocolate and custard cream) and chocolate on chocolate Parisienne cakes (moist and light sponge cake with divine chocolate mousse between layers). Their carrot cakes are wonderful as well, with freshly grated carrots and a cream cheese frosting with balanced sweetness (but I've ordered this only a couple of times). read more

Love their cake slices and the variety. Always excellent customer service. My favorite cake is The Princess, as colorful as the almond marzipan is strong. I've had better strawberry shortcake. The Tres Leches Whipped Cream is a dream. Tip: Cakes are half price the next day. They charge for a cup of water and have a few tables. I'm told you can buy as many or little cookies by the pound as you wish. Great way to treat yourself or spend $5 for 3 hours of free parking at the mall. read more

Everything but there drip coffee is delicious! This is my home store bakery Ive purchased many cakes via special occasions special occasion cookies for Hanukkah Valentine's Day whatever the occasion they have the most beautiful decorated cookies pastries are fresh and delicious one of my favorites is the alligator bar which is like a mix between a pecan roll and a bear claw. Over the years they've had a couple of women who had bad attitudes but they're not there anymore. Currently they have an amazing group of women that usually see me between 7 and 8 AM for carb needs! I want a Princess cake every year so my hubs heads on over to VB for one! It's hard to find this variety of Scandinavian cake with spongey cake, cream, jam, and the Marzipan frosting. The green color is traditional but they always manage to spruce it up and make it fun and cute! read more

I ordered a strawberry shortcake from Victor Bene's and it was delicious. The fresh strawberries were a real standout and my friends enjoyed it thoroughly. Just wish they added a few more strawberries because it pairs so nicely with the cake. The cake was beautifully decorated. They make amazing cakes for special occasions. Viktor Bene's Bakery is located inside Gelsons Supermarket in Century City. Parking is free inside the Westfield parking structure with validation from Gelsons. Earlier today, while in Century City I popped into Gelsons to purchase some items. Gelsons also has a great ready made hot and cold food deli, various salads and most of it delish. Love the chicken curry salad, wasabi tuna salad, shrimp dill salad and the antioxidant salads, to name a few While waiting for my deli order to be completed I sat at table by Viktor Bene's Bakery and watched as people purchase bakery treats. Two mature women behind the counter helped each customer expeditiously and were very kind and nice. As I sat close by I can see and hear each transaction and the women were very professional and genuinely helpful. I was curious and took some pics of the tempting treats that looked heavenly. The women offered to help me, I told them I was just admiring the sweets. Later another woman who worked there also offered to help me, turns out she was the manager. I commended the two women on how professional, helpful and nice they were to everyone. And the women smiled and thanked me. When I witness great service, I applaud it and want to give credit and thanks for those giving great excellent service. The lovely two women appreciated my positive compliments. I was honored to let them know I noticed and made sure their manager were aware of their efforts. My 5 star review is for that excellent service and the visually tempting bakery treats. Hands down the best in-store bakery in SoCal. Truly incredible cakes for special events like birthdays, Valentines, graduations, retirements, etc. - like mini works of art, so creative, simply beautiful. I think it used to be better, but it's still pretty good. Especially when you need a validation and just need a loaf of bread or some cookies for your kids. The alligator is always a classic and never changes, and the windmill cake is very good. I used to be a big fan of the rumettes (the green roll things dipped in chocolate) however, the last time we got them, they just were not the same. This location has been in place dating back to the 1960's, I believe. An excellent place for handmade pastry and cakes (for special occasions). The staff are lovely and feel like family, so much so that I wish there was a tip option at checkout. (Service and goods) THERE ARE BUGS IN MY BREAD!I I went on Friday and when it was my turn to order, the employee just stared at me and ran to the back although I said "Hi I would like..." and she just left. The next employee came to help me but her service was not better than the first. She processed my order and didn't even ask if I wanted a bag. This is inside Gelsons, and at the end of the checkout counters. We got a hodgepodge of desserts, but my comments are only about the non chocolate ones. We came here as it was one of the few non ice cream spots open on New Years, and they did have a good variety. I tried the tres leche, creme brûlée, and the Apple bar mainly. None of them were bad, but none of them stood out in my mind as being amazing. These are good after a long day of shopping If you want a pick me up. But they're not memorable. read more

An employee at Victor Coffee Shop, located in Gelson in Beverly Hills, Jennifer is very rude and unhappy with her job. I buy coffee and your products every day. Every time he is rude to customers, he never hears and does not want to listen to the buyer, he stands behind the counter and apparently forgets about his duty - to serve the buyer with gratitude for buying their products. Please work and train with her. She apparently doesn't want to work for you because she behaves disgustingly. read more

I ordered a custom Pink and Gold Minnie-themed Birthday Cake (strawberry shortcake) for my daughter's 2nd Birthday and not only was it delicious but it was beautiful! I want to thank Rebecca, the GM, for assisting me. She was very kind and sweet, professional and patient. I initially ordered a bigger cake for my daughter's birthday party but had to change at the last minute because I had to cancel her party due the current resurgence of Covid and Omicron. I was devastated but still wanted to do something beautiful and unique for her. Rebecca was understanding and was able to accommodate the last minute changes! Best coffee you can find at Westfield Century City. Staff is always good and everyone is consistent making the drinks. A really good team here. They put up with a lot because the clientele at this mall is demanding and fairly rude. But every time I'm there, they treat us so well. read more

I would give this a five star but since I did not actually go on location to see the store, I cannot. But a co-worker brought in a big beautiful box filled with a variety of breakfast pastries from doughnuts to muffins and sweet treats. The chocolate chip muffin is to die for as the top has a nice crisp but nice and soft on the inside with a good amount of chocolate chunks that do not overpower the muffin with sweetness. The Apple Cinnamon Doughnut taste heavenly as if you were eating Apple Jacks the cereal minus the over the top sweetness. The to go box was beautiful and classy. Visiting friends gifted us with a box of assorted cookies from Viktor Bene's Bakery. While the cookies were okay, they were not great. What was most disappointing is that it was quite apparent that SHORTENING was being used in all the cookies we tasted rather than BUTTER. This makes a significant difference in both flavor and mouthfeel. One would think that a purported "high end" bakery would not "cheap out" this way, but it appears that this is the case with Viktor Bene's Bakery. Sad. And disappointing. read more

If you have a large order, you can call in the day before and they'll customize an order for you. They have both pre-made and customizable cakes. Got 2 desserts here and they were delish. Some sort of chocolate mousse thing and a fruit topped short take type thing (see pix). My boyfriend said this bakery was a lot smaller than the one on Van Nuys Blvd in the Valley that he used to go to. They had some 4th of July/summer related desserts too like the US flag icing/photo cookies or a cake that looked like a watermelon. Delish. read more

I needed to get some biscuits & scones for a high tea party and was baffled where to get it on them on the whim 45 minutes before a tea party. From the suggestion of my co-worker, I gave Gelson's a call. Their bakery, Viktor Benes Continental Bakery, is located inside of Gelson's in the Century City Mall!! When I found out they had scones, I made the trek to Gelson's. I searched all of their displays and still couldn't find a scone. It turns out their scones are circular shaped, sort of like a large biscuit! Some of my co-workers raved about how delicious the scones were, but my flavor (blueberry) was just ok. They had a large selection of small cookies for about $12.99/pound (sort of pricey but worth every bite!) You get a ticket number to be helped and I did not wait long at all either! The lady by the name of Adela gave me the worst customer service today she knows me and even though I've been going there for over 10 years to this Bakery she assumed I wanted extra suryp shots in the coffee that I get and when I told her you overcharge me for a shot that i had asked for she said i gave you 2 shots. I told her i didn't ask for 2 shots i say (A shot) she started arguing with me i also spent money on 5 other pastrys. So she took my coffee and through it away then insisted i give her my receipt to credit me for the xtra shot. She just rang me no need to show u a receipt.. she just wanted to continue to argue over the shot. Shots are purchased by the customer you don't just assume someone wants more shots A shot means single Adela!!! Usually when I get coffee there, I get good customer service, but today, I faced a very rude woman. Her name is Ilda. First of all, she was already in a bad mood making cappuccinos for me and this elderly female friend I was helping. My friend was trying to close the lid of her coffee but it kept spilling and I motioned her to leave the cashier area to go to the farther counter so she can fix the problem better, but there were no napkins. Ilda did not give us any napkins. Then Ilda got irritated with us and angrily told us we are supposed to leave now. I went to her and said the coffee is spilling and we need napkins but she still kept pointing for us to leave. I told her again (this time firmly) that I needed napkins. She angrily tore open a package and handed the napkins and then said AGAIN, still with her angry face, that we have to leave. Let me tell you something Ilda, if you're having a bad day, don't go to work and don't serve the public! We don't need lousy customer service. read more

This bakery is pretttttty....damn......delicious. It's not like your run of the mill Ralph's or Von's bakery where everything is overly sweet or mildly stale. This place has amazing cookies, pastries, and best of all, CAKES. They'll cost you quite a penny, but so worth it. It's never too sweet, and tastes so delicate. I love their cheesecake, berry tarts, oatmeal-lace cookies, and eclairs. It's pretty organized here, too: they make you take a number, so mean old snobby ladies can't cut right in front of you. A bit on the pricy side and we learned the hard way that the triple berry cake does NOT do well out of the fridge for more than an hour (hello, avalanche!), but if the cake doesn't need to be traveled and has cool place to store, then this is the perfect place.
