My grandmother and uncle used a lot of time deliberating between every little detail of the headstone; it honestly took quite some time. Melanie was incredibly patient and did not rush the process. She gave everyone adequate time to make their final decision and was transparent about what was / wasn't included. Working with Melanie was very pleasant. A minor complaint was that I had to leave multiple messages in order to reach Melanie so I'm not sure if my messages were ever relayed. In the end, I had to reach out a fifth time before I finally spoke with Melanie. I'm sure they are always incredibly busy and do not fault them for this at all - it's just a mere FYI for anyone trying to contact them. Overall, I really enjoyed the process with Mount Pleasant.

At the time, I was such in distress and emotionally exhausted, so the thought of cold calling funeral homes was too much. I was extremely appreciative of the respectful and extremely helpful support I received from People's Memorial. They made the stressful time easy and simple. There was a particularly helpful person there by the name of Anthony (Queen Anne location) who I believe was interning as a funeral director. He was kind, gentle, and so responsive to emails. When I had to pick up the ashes of my loved one, he offered to divide out a smaller portion for scattering. If I had to do it again, I would definitely choose People's Memorial again...

And the price is quite high, over $4000 just for a simple burial of cremains (cremation done out of state, not by Evergreen Waschelli) in a plot that the family already owns. And that's with name etching on an existing stone that's already in place, with no removal of the stone needed. I'm going there today and I'll bet that my mom's name is still not on the stone and that her obituary still won't be showing up on their website. Ugh

We were completely dismayed to find the area where they are buried, covered in about 5 inches of decaying maple leaves. I used my shoe and tried to kick away the thick layer of debris, trying to expose her grandparents name plates. After about 15 minutes, we gave up. When I returned home, I went online and filled out a form that was right on their website and told them how unacceptable this was to my mother, and asking for someone to please reach out to me after it had been cleaned up so that we could try again.. It has been two weeks and no one has reached out to me regarding my concern with the lack of upkeep. So perhaps next year, I will call them and make sure the area has been maintained before driving the hour and a half.

The boat is beautiful, spacious and very clean. Captain Miguel explained everything very clearly including the route, details about the safety equipments and facilities on the boat. The ride was very peaceful and pleasant for our whole family (even my 11-year old son who is prone to have motion sickness found the ride very comfortable). They have a life jacket ready for my son, too. We love that we were never rushed. The lower platform is low enough for us to be able to touch the water while scattering ashes. Thank you for the beautiful yellow roses to keep my mom company in the sea. It was definitely a lifetime memorable ride for mom and our whole family! Highly recommended especially if you are looking for a nice and safe ride to say goodbye to your loved one.

The Sister and I were doing some pre-planning so we had a visit with Phillip, the general manager of the place. He was very respectful, encouraged questions and laid out the pricing right up front. I was pleased that there weren't a lot of options or any hint of up-selling here. After our conversation we took a stroll around looking at the different sites available, found a nice spot and went inside to do the paperwork. We were in and out in a hour! If internment is in your plans, I would highly recommend Crown Hill Cemetery.

I went to see my uncle John Sydnie Sharp III grave and they told he was not there. I got upset and…read moreasked them to look harder and check the old files not in their computer. They found him. He was a marine. They had him in an unmarked grave and told me a marine head stone was not allowed. I am in the process of fighting this. What a sad day! My uncle served and was a great man. Now he is in an unmarked grave in Crown Hill Cemetery. What a shame.
