To make matters worse, I was incorrectly charged $25 for a supposedly missing washcloth. I did not take anything from the property. The washcloth had fallen behind the small trash can, and it appears housekeeping simply overlooked it and assumed it was missing. I should not have been charged based on that incorrect assumption. When I called to dispute the charge, I spent 49 minutes on the phone with a customer service agent, who repeatedly went back and forth without resolving the issue. Instead of correcting the erroneous charge, I was told to call back the following morning at 11:00 a.m. to speak with the manager. It was extremely frustrating to spend that much time on the phone only to have the issue remain unresolved. Based on this experience, I will never stay at the Lost Hills, CA property again. The poor condition of the property, lack of proper maintenance, pest issue, and handling of the billing error resulted in a very disappointing experience. When I did finally speak to the manager about the refund, he said he would take care of it. Then he immediately called me back and said I had to remove my "terrible" review and then he would refund the $25 erroneous charge. I said I would not remove the review and would just eat the erroneous charge. I will also be reporting the property to the health department and BBB.

Sure, there were delays due to the remoteness of the location (you'd think at least one of the three local parts shops, Napa, Autozone and O'Reilly would stock a fuel pump for a very common Ford vehicle, but no), but all in all, we're super glad that Fernando was able to get it done get us on our way.

The service of the roadside assistance from her insurance company was essentially non-existant and cost over two hours of delay while she sat on the side of the road in 100 degree heat. Gene put us in touch with a towing company and a tire shop, all open on a holiday. I was headed to work the other morning and…read morenoticed my tire was flat, no big deal I just pulled up in the drive way and aired it up with my air compressor. As I was doing so I could hear all of the air exiting the tire, there was a HUGE whole in my tire from a 2-3 inch rusted nail! I'm sitting there thinking CRAP, not only am I late for work, but I'm literally stuck in my drive way with no way to get my tire fixed as I was home alone and no other spare vehicle to drive. I didn't want to call a tow truck as they're super expensive on top of having to pay to get your tire fixed. Then I remembered Elite Tire of Bakersfield is a MOBILE one stop shop (trailer :P)! I gave Darren a call and he was at my house in less than 30 minutes! He patched my tire and had me on my way in an hour or less. He also informed me that all 4 of my tires were extremely bald (my life is too busy lately I hadn't paid attention, I should have known, my dad taught me better, oops!) So Darren ordered me some new tires and asked when I would like them to be put on my car, I said ASAP. I went off to work with my newly patched tire, ran some errands and was home by 6pm and Darren was right behind me and showed up to install my new tires for me THE SAME DAY!! He changed all of my tires and also informed me that I need new brake discs and pads soon. He even took my old tires to the dump for me for a very small reasonable fee! Now that's what I call great customer service!! Darren does an amazing job and is very knowledgeable (I'm a very curious person and I like to know how things work so I ask 1,000 questions about everything, lol thanks for putting up with me Darren!).
