I've gotten a lot of balloons in my lifetime and I've done a lot of pawning my gold to leave as collateral he said to me over the phone 60% of spot price of whatever amount of gold I have and the interest rate was 6%, immediately I felt that was a good deal based off those numbers but when I arrive, maybe it was my fault for bringing nearly 150 g of gold because I didn't make up my mind and I was just gonna decide what I was going to give him when I arrived, from the moment, I took out my gold this man's eyeballs almost came out, not a funny way either more scary vibe/energy gets worse as I am selecting which items I want leave with him. He signals me with both hands, no words. "Bring it all here" if that makes sense I could you know I'm not making up anyways I remain professional and I handed over all my Gold and explained to him that I needed to keep some of the items I'm a jeweler and these items are fine. we're interested in and I would like to have them on hand just in case they come by them the amount of Gold that he took for me versus the 60% price that he said over the phone, I'd like to say he gave me 20% for 25% of the loan that he was about to give to me and I was really bothered leaving that amount of gold for the amount of money that he was giving me. It gets even worse so he never explained to me the exact terms, but before I walked out of his office while still in his office, I still have the cash in my hand that you gave me which is about $2500. He had over 113g of my gold some 14k 18 K. The only reason I was really gonna move forward with the deal even though I was bothered because his rate was 6% but before walking out looking at the paperwork and it's saying that 6% x 3 months. So I politely asked, but I only need it less than a month. He said that's fine but you still have to pay the three months 6% per month I said, but I don't need it that long. Then he says that it's a California law that has to be for three months minimal which is a complete lie. I swear he said that and anybody can Google and see for themselves that is completely made up in bogus, advertise himself as this trustworthy high paying kind human being running a honest business I get the nature of a loan shark as I've dealt with many many of them, but I've never ever once. Had someone not explained to me the terms change the terms or didn't fully explain them just had me send the paperwork after he got my Gold and he was ready for me to get out of there. He was a happy camper, but just something that it fell right and I had to make sure everything was what we agreed to since he told me 60% of spot price, but instead gave me 25% at most after he said 6% times three months. I literally threw his money back on the table the same way he gave it to me told him give me my gold back. And he complied and just someone I would never do business with a lot better options out there people I'm so serious and it's not hard to find them and they do the same thing as this man only meant to force you to pay for loans for three months if you don't wanna pay that long, but if you want three months, you could have them that long and they won't take so much of your gold and give you so little money. I worked hard for my money the same once you wear that Rolex Hulk I wear the same one too only you probably paid someone a little amount of cash and they weren't able to pay kept it yourself, you don't work hard you say you've been doing this for 25 years. I ask consent before taking photos so I can keep track of what pieces I like and what booth I found them at. I asked to see three rings, the older blonde woman (pictured) assisting me did not just come across as disinterested, she seemed irritated that she had to help me at all. Her tone was cold, her demeanor tense, and every interaction felt rushed, like I was an inconvenience she wanted to be rid of as quickly as possible. I initially tried to brush it off as her personality, but what made it impossible to ignore was what happened next. At the other end of the table, an older white woman was already being helped by an older gentleman. Instead of continuing to assist me, the woman helping me chose to join them, effectively abandoning our interaction. She stood there with them, smiling, engaged, and attentive, without so much as a glance back in my direction. I was left waiting, unacknowledged, until I eventually had to call out to her to get her attention again. And it wasn't just that one moment, or just one customer. As I stood there, I noticed she was kind to another older white lady before I asked her to help me. With them, she was warm, patient, and welcoming. With me, she was curt, tense, and visibly irritated. The contrast in treatment was not subtle. It was unmistakable. For context, I am 32 years old, but I have been told that I look young for my age. Whether her behavior was influenced by my age, my Asian ethnicity, or the fact that she assumed I could not afford their pieces, I cannot say with certainty, but the consistent disparity in how I was treated compared to the older white women around me was impossible to ignore. When I finally said I would be back after making my rounds, she took the rings from me and responded with a flat, dismissive "okay," not even looking at me as she said it. It felt less like the end of a customer interaction and more like a relief to her that I was leaving. I walked away feeling overlooked, disrespected, and devalued.I was saddened not just by the interaction, but by the fact that now my beautiful memory, the event I was so excited for, was soured. Thankfully, the women at Serendipity Baubles, Trinkets, and Treasures at Booth 421 completely turned my day around. They were warm, kind, and treated me with genuine respect. I gladly spent over a thousand dollars with them. Funny how a little kindness and basic human respect can go such a long way. I had genuinely liked one of your pieces (pictured) and fully intended to come back for it. But after the way I was treated, I chose not to support a business where I was made to feel like I didn't belong or worse, like I was a burden. I know a thousand dollars isn't much for your business, but this is not just about a missed sale. It is about how quickly visible irritation and unequal treatment can turn what should be a joyful experience into something disheartening and lasting. I hope this is taken seriously, because no one should walk away from your booth feeling the way I did. I am not upset about the jewelry I didn't get to buy. I was upset about the beautiful memory I could've had.

He was knowledgeable about the merchandise, offered to show us others items we might be interested in (eventually bought!!) and was extremely patient while we shopped and asked questions. The overall atmosphere of the shop was not the same. The manager on duty seemed bothered by the amount of time we were there and didn't greet the few other customers that came in with the same enthusiasm or care that we received from Nick. We would definitely return to the store but, only if Nick was working. We easily spent 10x what we intended and with no regrets. I hope that he's compensated well because with his personality and gift at selling he would do great in any other sales position.
