We just wanted a hamburger, fries and a coke... What we got was 19 hamburger choices and a myriad of other choices. But you might ask if they were any good. No! Good is not an adequate adjective, they were fabulous, delicious, can't stop eating even tho I'm about to burst wonderful! I had the blue cheese burger and my husband had the Hawaiian burger. These gentlemen know how to cook. Every single thing I have eaten here is really good. And everything is priced right. When you say you want your steak or burger medium it's cooked perfectly to temperature. They make their mac and cheese with large chunks of bacon in it. They make some fried baked potato appetizer that is salty, cheesy and just delicious. Their fish is cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries are great, salty and sweet. The mashed potatoes are smooth with chunks, so fantastic. The gravy is also delicious. I like everyone who has served us. No nonsense. They know the menu. They are efficient. No bullshit. We just checked Yelp while in Crawfordville, and the place we were going to was closed, so we spotted this place. Thank God we did. It was a big surprise. The people are so nice and accomodating. Nice and clean and comfortable. Great menu, lots of good choices. I had the chili burger, my son had the pizza burger. We were surprised about how nice and big the fresh patty is. Wow, super good!! Because there are so few options in this area, I had high hopes for this burger joint. Unfortunately, I don't think we had a real experience here- we came at 2:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and they were trying to close at 3pm for some type of party (normal closing time is 4pm). The service was good- friendly waitress who gave recommendations -but everything felt rushed. I ordered a medium patty melt with fries; fries were overdone and the patty was medium well to well done, super-thick and dry. It came on white bread, which was soggy. I prefer my patty melts to have two thin patties layered with cheese... If you do too, don't order this melt. The fries were burnt- probably cooked in old grease because they were trying to close? My husband got a chicken philly with onion rings. The onion rings were the same as the fries- burnt, or cooked in old grease, we're not sure! Either way, not very appetizing. He did enjoy the chicken philly though- moist, good flavored chicken, soft bread and smothered in provolone. He plans to add lettuce and tomato next time. All in all, we plan to return in the hopes that this experience was an anomaly. Because we really, REALLY need a decent burger joint in these parts! read more

The burgers here are some of the best you will find anywhere! They are thick, juicy and HUGE! Their selection of burgers offerings is amazing! This often overlooked family run restaurant is a gem in Crawfordville. It's been here for years, but tucked away just behind Pizza Hut to where many can't see it from the road. I would consider them semi-homemade, much like many of us cook in our own kitchen. Their not-to-miss fried pork chops are dry marinated, amazing homemade mashed potatoes, but frozen fried okra. Ok ... that's the same that I do at home most of the time, but my pork chops and mashed potatoes don't taste like THAT! Their loaded fries and nachos are meals in theirselves! Service was oh so very slow...don't go here if you need to be somewhere as it took an hour to get a couple of burgers! Food was very average and except for the daily specials the prices were not that inexpensive. Kiddos for the 1.39 soda prices and most places are almost 3.00 now. I have eaten here several times and most of the time we have a pretty good experience with delicious burgers. We stopped here this weekend and they didn't earn two stars. Because of the previous experiences I am not going to downgrade them for one bad night. Here's the deal - I love a turkey burger if cooked right and they usually do it the best I've had outside of my own kitchen. This weekend they didn't get it completely cooked. Biting into a pink turkey burger turns your meal into a fasting diet...yuk! My daughter thinks their black bean burgers are to die for but in this visit it was way too big and also not thoroughly cooked so it was mush in the middle and fell completely apart. The server was rough looking but he was fairly attentive so my advice to him (and the managers that oversee their staff) would be - appearances do matter - you could raise your performance level up about 6 notches if you looked in a mirror and took some pride when you got dressed for work...just sayin' So even tho they didn't make the cut this time - based on previous home runs - I will definitely give them another chance to get it right! read more

The lady that works the register and takes orders is very rude. While taking my order she had a terrible attitude and spoke to me as if she was annoyed she had to take my order. I asked for my blue burger wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. The female owner (very sweet lady) that takes orders sometimes suggested I order the burger this way once before, when I ordered it with no bun and I continued to order it that way until today when the rude lady took my order. She said "I can give you extra lettuce. " Her not wanting to ring up a lettuce wrapped burger could have been overlooked because maybe she didn't know it had been done that way before but her attitude and tone from the time she answered the phone was unacceptable. If you have not eaten a burger from BW's Grill, then you are missing out. The meat is excellent, not at all greasy. The burger is perfectly cooked. If you want medium rare, that's what you get. If you want medium well, that's what you get. They are 1/2 pound burgers, too. You get one side with your burger and there is a lot to choose from. Service is excellent. The location is a bit hard to find. It is a newish little strip mall behind an older strip mall that has Bealls Outlet in it. read more

Great, friendly people and a great menu. A group of fifteen of us popped in on this little place at about 3:00pm on a Monday. They handled our group with ease. I got the lunch buffet. Don't let the tiny little buffet (about five small steam table pans) fool you. The fried pork chops on the buffet were great! Crispy and juicy. I thought they'd be dried out, but I was wrong. I sampled my wife's big Texas burger and loaded fries, both were great. As good as the buffet was, I'm getting a burger next time. So good! read more

BW's has changed the way we view food in Crawfordville. No, its not always the greatest and the variety can sometimes be limited. What you do get is great customer services and great food. The Hawaiian Chicken is a favorite in our house. Adding the fact that you can replace any beef burger with Bison makes it all the more better. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I will have to agree with most posts. The fries are usually overdone and a bit oil soaked but other than that, really good homestyle food. Worth the trip in my book. They have our business and will continue to have it. read more
