All I can say is - wow, you gotta go here! I'm picky about my sweets, because I have a sensitivity to sugar. Most times after eating some pie or a tasty cupcake, I feel nauseous, dizzy, or thirsty. This is normally due to too much sugar or preservatives. But, after randomly walking in after picking up some stuff at Home Depot, I think I might become a regular! I ordered a slice of carrot cake (one of my all-time favs), as was prepared for it to taste synthetic, like a diet soda... but this was far from true. The taste was creamy, smooth, delicate, and above-all, no nauseous side effect! It had just enough sweetness to satisfy the palette and wasn't overpowering. I've had vegan desserts before (can't remember if any were carrot cake), and wasn't too impressed with them; there were too dry, and just didn't have the right "expectation" for what a dessert taste like. This on the other hand was the complete opposite. Yes, it's pricey ($32 for a cake), but heck, it's worth it! Just get it with some friends for a special occasion, and you'll have many pleasant memories. The funny thing is, I just ate it about 4-5 hours ago, and I can still taste it in my mouth! So for $4.50 a slice, that's a ~$1/hr for taste - sounds like a deal to me! :) Go get a slice of cake or the whole thing, and please support them. I've been recently put on a strict diabetic/GI diet because I'm insulin resistant and it's been a really emotional rollercoaster for me mainly because I have the biggest sweet tooth ever. I'm 27 years old and literally everywhere I go basically I can't eat most of anything I want. Soooo I decided to Google and yelp for diabetic bakery and I came across this place. Honestly, when I got there I wanted to order everything, but my husband stopped me a little lol so I got chocolate chip cookies, brownie, Nepoleon, banana cake, chocolate creme puff, Apple cluster thing, and some other pastry I forgot the name. I love that they have a sugar free bakery. I would totally support more of these places, however, this place is unique. They use Xylitol, which is apparently approved by dentists in making your teeth clean. It is the sugar used in a majority of chewing gums these days. Be warned, Xylitol is deadly for your pets. That aside, some of the items taste terrible. Some others bring tears to the eyes of a diabetic that has never had such options in years. My personal favorite is the tart and the Tiramisu. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday morning to pick up some sugar free treats. The lady working could be a little more friendly and helpful. Got an assortment of cookies (chocolate chip, sprinkles and oatmeal), lemon bar, brownie, carrot cake, cannoli, eclair, napoleon and tiramisu. Out of everything, favorites were the sprinkle cookies and brownie. Definitely worth stopping by if you want some guilt free treats. These days very few places where food, or bakery items are sold, care one bit for that segment who shies away from real sugar. Be it for health reasons, change of diet, it is hard to find a good bakery specializing in making sugar free, sugarless, even no sugar added items. When, and if, a business like this bakery appears on the map, the quality of the products seem to miss the margins, more often than not, the selections are not that great, to say the least. It seems that low carb, sugar free creations, require lots of skills if truly they will adhere to their promise. I found Bye Bye Sugar Bakery while searching faithful Yelp, which I happen to like a lot, but the story this time went like this: Arrived at approximately 12 PM. First impression was that it did not emanated the basic smells of a bakery. Second impression that it was empty prior to arriving, and during my visit as well. Third impression the second baker had zero charm, which in such a lonely bakery, can not be a good thing. I bought a bag with oatmeal cookies and a banana nut bread, to the tune of $12.50+. Both a tangible disappointment, as the flavor, the lack of fair amount of ingredients, and the fact that they came apart from the first try, indicated a mediocre product, priced high (understandable for no rent in this area can possibly be a bargain), and at the end of the day there were no nutritional information to reinforce the believe that this place, is indeed a mecca with zero competition, selling tightly controlled products to the discerning costumer. Yes, no real sugar detracts considerably from the ideal sweet, and this bye bye I am not returning, was lacking the wow factor. Prices higher than See's, but quality much lower. I was thrilled to find an actual sugar free bakery in the neighborhood when we moved here. And they are so good! They have cakes, pastries, cookies and chocolate. I highly recommend the coconut cake, seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, and especially the napoleons- these are to die for, and absolutely the lowest carb item they have. For chocolate, I prefer the dark chocolate almond bark. They also have good cookies which look pretty and can be given as gifts. Nice for dipping in coffee! Some things to keep in mind: these goodies are sugar-free, not carb free, so you have to check the nutrition info (located on the counter by the chocolates) to make sure you are hitting your goals. As far as I can tell, they mostly use xylitol- a natural non-sugar, non-sugar-alcohol sweetener that does not upset your stomach. These are also not calorie free, though definitely lower calorie than most other desserts! Really great for the holidays when you are just dying for sweets. I stumbled onto here because it's in the same shopping center as my gym, so as you might imagine, this is a large center with a lot of parking. I can't comment on anything but the cupcakes here. I've definitely had worse, but I'm not sure this is really going to satisfy any cravings if you're trying to cut back on the sugar. The cake portion is very dry and flavorless. The frosting tastes pretty good, but it tastes like whipped cream instead of cupcake frosting, so it doesn't really do the substitution job. The guy working the place -- I presume the owner -- kept giving me this sort of "Why did you trigger the bell on my door and make me walk out here? I don't want to be here" thing going on that made it really uncomfortable. This little bakery is without a doubt the best bakery! My husband and I have been going here for years as we are both diabetics and what a treat her bakery goods are! She makes these cherry cheese danish that we could eat every day and before we were diabetic we were on Keto and these treats never slowed us down with weight loss. You would never know they were sugar free and the people who run the bakery are such a nice family, we love to support their business. They also sell these wonderful bakery goods at Whole Foods...if you are a Whole Foods shopper, you should try them, cakes, cookies, chocolate eclairs, lemon bars, fruit tarts, etc., we've never had anything there we didn't love! I go to the gym that's in the same parking lot and always see this place. I'm kind of the person who avoids sugar-free, healthy type food like the plague, so I never thought to go in here until one of our household was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Our family loves dessert and so to celebrate a new job, I stopped in here to check it out. We tried the eclair, the cheesecake and the cream puff. The guy started to put it all in a bag, but I asked him if he could put it in a bakery box and make it 'look cute.' He did as I asked with no problem. When I wanted to know if they ever did key lime pie (my dad's favorite thing), he told me that if you want certain items you can call ahead and they will make it for you, which I thought was kind of neat. Again, I am not a sugar-free person by any means and neither is the majority of my family, but you honestly cannot tell the difference at this place. Everything we got was amazing, especially the eclair. It kind of makes you wonder why most places put sugar into baked goods, if you can make them taste just as good, if not better, without any. I stopped eating sugar about 3 or 4 years ago, so i can't say i've had a lot of other regular bakery items to compare these ones to. That being said it is VERY difficult to find sugar free baked goods that are tasty.Usually the texture and flavor of store-bought sugar free desserts are way off. I have had the cheesecake here on numerous occasions and it has always been delicious. They made a special chocolate swirl one for me when i needed a SF cake for my birthday a couple of years ago. I brought one of their german chocolate cakes to a small get together recently and people were very surprised to find out it was sugar free. My wife and I happen to be in the area and were in the mood for some pastries, my Google maps showed Bye Bye Sugar Bakery in walking distance so that's how we ended up in this great place without knowing that all of what they have are sugar-free/low-calorie cakes and pastries. I ordered the Éclair and my wife ordered the cheesecake and started having them right there, they were really good and only after finishing them I found out that they were sugar-free, we were pleasantly surprised. I am watching my calorie and thought this binge would spoil my count for the day but it didn't, which was awesome. So I ended up buying couple more of them along with their Banana Walnut bread.
