The last two times I received dental treatment at Apple Seed Family Dentistry, I experienced significant problems afterward that required me to seek care elsewhere. The first time, I had a cavity filled, but the filling affected my bite. My bite did not feel right afterward, and I ultimately had to go to another dental office to have the problem corrected. The second experience was much more concerning. I received a dental injection, and afterward I developed severe difficulty opening my mouth--essentially a locked jaw--that lasted for about a month. Unfortunately, my jaw and mouth have not felt the same since. I have had to seek care elsewhere to have this continued issue get resolved. I understand that complications can happen with dental procedures, but having two separate experiences where I ultimately needed treatment elsewhere has seriously affected my confidence in this practice. I'm posting this review because I think patients deserve to know about my experience and to make informed decisions about where they receive their dental care. Ultimately, I have canceled appointments for my entire family and will not go back to this practice.

I and my family have had many…read morefine dentists throughout 20 years in the Air Force and in retirement but for many reasons Dr Cuffy has been the best. We came to him for a second opinion after a large practice told my wife she needed three crowns. Dr Cuffy had the integrity to say that was simply incorrect and then fixed the issues with simple fillings. He is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious and always takes the time to properly examine and deal with issues thoroughly while minimizing potential pain to the maximum extent. He also had done a great job with my autistic daughter who used to be terrified of dentists but goes to Dr Cuffy without any anxiety. Finally Dr Cuffy's office always seems to find the time when we have a short notice issue or to fit me in around my travel schedule. If you're looking for a dentist who cares about your teeth and your pocketbook I highly recommend you give Total Family Dentistry a try.

I went in hoping to get a problematic wisdom tooth removed. When Dr. Ryan and I agreed on removing it same day, I was able to warn him of a previous extraction; in which the dentists had to double the numbing dose, due to my high tolerance for it. He remembered when it came time to numb me up. The dental assistance's were phenomenal as well. One held my hand during the numbing process, while the other assisted Dr. Ryan also gave me information about my jaw, and how it's adjusted. The main problem going in was the wisdom tooth. He did exercises with my jaw which showed that the alignment of my teeth aren't centered when i bite down. He said this could be due to the wisdom tooth, or another underlying problem with my disk. But he never made me feel pressured by information. He was right to the point, adding details as I asked, without making it seem like i needed more than the necessary work done. I had my original dentures made at a competitor of Aspen Dental's in Greenville, approximately 3 years ago, they have NEVER FIT. From day-one I've had to use both paste and powdered adhesive to keep them in, I have never been able to eat with them in and my meals and snacks have been reduced to food I can gum to death! Every time I tried to have them fixed I was paying several hundred dollars, out of pocket, and they kept getting more loose ~ even though they were supposed to be guaranteed for 7 years. Aspen Dental in Simpsonville has completely changed my bad feelings about dentures in general. Dr Tyler Clausen is magical, I went there to have a tooth extracted and wound up getting my top denture redone. He is phenomenal, everything he promised me has come true and I can never thank him (or his entire staff) enough. I no longer feel sorry for myself having false teeth ~ I have a whole new smile! They accused me of skipping out on payment and pushing past the front office when the front office offered to put the $20 payment towards the next visit. And then they billed me for a service they never performed. They are slandering my reputation over a $120 ,service they never performed. I'm being slanderd because I refuse to pay for a service that was never rendered.
