The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

A couple of small notes for future customers: the final price was slightly higher than the original project quote once the full scope (two locks) was reconfirmed (but this was conveyed pre-arrival, so no surprises upon arrival), and arrival was about 40 minutes past the scheduled time (but I get it, LA traffic!). He also recommended cutting the locks since he couldn't make replacement keys, which means I will have to purchase some new bike locks again soon. Regardless, grateful for Jin to provide evening and weekend services!
