Cute little restaurant on the pier. Small basic menu, nothing extensive. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and Hillbilly Cuban sandwiches (comes with bag of chips and pickle) Wait time for food was crazy long! Especially since was very basic food. Not sure if due to staff shortage or what. The pizza was shockingly delicious, seasoned amazingly well, thin crusted and not greasy. Loved it! The sandwiches were not bad. Wish it had some sort of sauce on it / for it so wasn't as dry and needed little bit more meat on it to fill it out. Was still tasty and would eat again. Hot wings were basic hot wings-enjoyed.

This was a cool place for a quick bite and a beer. Don't have high expectations when you come, it's more like a consession stand and bar. The food is good and much less expensive than eating at the hotel next door. There's really not a server, just the bartender thar brings your food from the consession stand window. The atmosphere was the best part, just sitting on the picnic tables over the water, listening to the waves crash was worth it.

    Redneck Cuban sandwich

Came in tot his placing with great expectations ordered 10 Buffalo wings and a redneck Cuban sandwich. Wings dish even have any sauce after I asked for buffalo and asked again to make sure it was buffalo had little to no flavor of buffalo. The sandwich was horrible would not recommend got my sandwich very dry and cold. Ordered food after almost an hour passed of waiting I asked where my food was and it turned out they never put our order after I had paid upon ordering. Also keep in mind we were only people that were at the restaurant ordering food. Absolutely ridiculous would not recommend this place specially for the price.

Today is their grand reopening (post-Sally) complete with complimentary champagne, chocolate, live music & cookies :-) 3/19/21 The place is located on the Gulf Shores pier, but the pier was devastated by the hurricane and just partially reopened last month and it took them some time to get Bywater back up and running. The menu has changed slightly but everything else is pretty much the same. Same beer, wine & cocktail selections, same staff with the addition of one new young man. The view is still fantastic and the vibe is obviously beachy! Today I decided to try something besides their pizza, which is pretty okay, and I went with the Taco On A Bun. It was as advertised, a hamburger bun loaded with a kinda hot dog chilli with lettuce and tomato, sour cream and salsa and a pickle on the side. It also vines with a choice of several potato chips. It was okay, probably a bit with kids, but I'm not a fan. I think I'll be sticking with the pizza. I will actually try some if their other food because my honey loves this spot, especially when you want to watch the beach, sip cocktails and chill. I miss her so much :-( Anyway you can read my previous review for more history and details, because as I said not much has changed. Bottom line: I'm glad they're back and going to try to make a go of it!!

The best part of this place is the workers and the location. Everyone was very friendly and tried their best to take care of everyone quickly. The prices were not high and the service was quick. I had the ham and swiss, as pictured in my shared shot. The flavor was good and it tasted pretty fresh. The only downside was the small portion left me hungry and the cheese was cold, even though it was a pressed sandwich. Come on Tuesday night and you can watch shark fishing on the pier!

I was pretty impressed by the food at this little Boardwalk restaurant. It is way more than a snack bar. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which was pretty good for not being a Cuban restaurant, and my wife ordered seared Tuna, which she also enjoyed. They only have frozen fruit daquaris, no regular daquari was available.

    Cool view from the pier

Solid 4 setting is great. Corona I wished was in a bottle but I get why it's in a can given the location. Wonderful view and pretty good food. Pizza was good, beer cold, sandwich was good. Great place to grab a drink and enjoy the view.

Pepperoni pizza, hurricane cocktail, dr. Pepper, and chicken quesadilla

Great for a quick meal. Very reasonably priced. Beautiful views. There is a cash discount, if you use cash vs a card.

Blue Hawaiian Daiquiri. ($8) In a plastic (reusable) cup!!

Great service! The drinks are good & reasonably priced. The view is well worth every downfall this place could possibly have (although I didn't see any flaws). Definitely recommend trying this place out as it's location alone sells it, but the food, drinks, & service were superb!

We love this little beach bar and restaurant on the Gulf State Pier..it was such a gorgeous day we decided to go there..we got a strawberry lemonade and then I wanted to try their pizza..actually it is pretty tasty I really liked it..my husband is used to New York pizza but he said it was ok for him. Some other ppl got burgers and they were thick and huge making me wish I could eat another lunch.. this is their last day open for the season so everything was 1/2 price - - score...but they do unfortunately close the whole area so u cant go down and sit during off season..and since they will be refurbishing the pier they will open later in the spring than normal

Visiting Gulf Shores, AL? Nice seeing you... now go home!…read more LOL, I had to start out with that one. But seriously--whether you're a local or just visiting, you have to try Duck's Diner - Gulf Shores. It's a true local favorite, and it keeps getting busier now that the tourists have discovered it too. One of my personal favorites is the Creole Shrimp & Grits--a true classic packed with awesome flavor. They are definitely not skimpy on the sauce or the shrimp, so be ready because you're probably going to need a to-go box. More of a burger person? Heck yeah--the Cowboy Burger is always a strong favorite and a solid choice. Want a sandwich instead? Go with the Reuben on Rye. It's definitely a winner and never disappoints. Need something to drink? They've got you covered with everything from good coffee and sweet tea to a Screwdriver, which happens to be one of my favorites. Overall, you really can't go wrong stopping in here. Sometimes I almost wish y'all wouldn't because it gets so busy , but I'd hate for anyone to miss out on one of the best local spots around. If you stop in, tell them the local biker "1/2 Time" sent ya! I won't get anything for it, but at least they'll know I was true to my word and gave them the solid review I promised.

Although there was a line out the door the wait was less than 15 minutes on a Fri morning. The berry biscuits tasted a lot like a funnel cake--really good. Kids enjoyed their Nutella and chocolate chip pancakes. My husband had the stuffed French toast and it was delicious and a huge portion--def meant to be shared. I was a bit disappointed with the Creole Benedict. Underneath my poached eggs was what tasted like a seared piece of ham or spam and I just wasn't a fan of this, I don't believe I read this in the description. In my opinion overwhelmed the other flavors in this dish. We overall enjoyed this for a nicer casual sit down breakfast in the area.

Apparently it is not important enough to service staff to understand what is like to have someone in your party that has a food allergy. The most important thing, is to have the ability to empathize with your guests, and make their experience a good one. If there is an issue with cross contamination in your kitchen, then create an area in the kitchen solely to address those with food allergy needs. For example, when your customer tells you the sprite has no flavor, you don't just come back and tell them it looks fine to me and everything is hooked up. Try tasting it yourself and at least bring a new cup of it to the table. Don't come back empty handed. Then there was the Crab Cakes. After all of the seafood places I have been to in the southeast I found these crab cakes to be just so so. If you are going to deep fry them, please understand that the crab meat will turn to the consistency of tuna salad and is not pleasant to eat whatsoever. Perhaps skip the breading/deep fry and pan fry them instead? While the breading on the crab cake was crisp and delicious, it was a little off setting to have mushy crab on the inside. Again, this was a beautiful venue with a great view. I am troubled by the lack of attention to detail, especially when it comes to addressing your guests.
