We learned of C & A when my father's AC unit malfunctioned earlier this year. One HVAC company came out, told him that he had to replace the entire unit, and left. My dad was upset, of course, and mentioned it to one of his neighbors in his condo building. This neighbor gave him C & A's info, saying that these guys serviced most of the units. $275 and a new part later, dad was back in business. So, when the hottest days of July hit this year, and of course, that's when my AC unit stopped working, I figured I'd give them a call. I reached their answering service, expecting I had not one iota of a chance that I would get a call back anytime soon. After all, one other company had called back to say "thanks for the call, but we are so dang busy with our existing customers we can't help you." I was delighted when Doug not only returned the call but said he'd be out later that day AND HE SHOWED. Yay! Our problem was quickly found and a part ordered. Four days later the part came in, he promptly came out, replaced it and we're back in business. Now, he could have charged an actual arm and leg, given that we were at his mercy and it was the hottest time ever. They didn't. The price was very reasonable and fair. C & A is definitely my new go-to place for HVAC. (P.S. - Faithful Dining Comanion's AC went out the same day - yes really - I gave them C & A's info, they came out the next day and since her part didn't have to be ordered, they fixed it on the spot. My air conditioner made weird noises and clicks. Then when the temperature in the house went up to 80 I knew it was high time to call in a professional. The first provider I called broke 4 promises to call back. Another said the initial charge of $99 was for their "discharge" call. Fortunately, I mentioned this to a friend who had the perfect company to help my dilemma. Doug and Anthony from C & A Heating and Cooling arrived within a few hours of my initial call. These guys are hands down the most courteous, responsive and efficient I have EVER dealt with in any line of business. They walked us through moving from Oil to Gas over a year ago and handled the entire process and install with the exception of what needed to be done by PECO.. They responded to our calls, emails and texts sometimes late at night, were quick to arrive in the morning to address any questions concerns or work that needed to be done. They even recommended a stellar contractor to remove our 60 year old oil tank that was snugged behind a pair of basement steps that i didn't think could ever be removed without knocking down a wall. He got it out in less than 2 hours with little to no mess. Last night my wife and I returned from vacation to find our home without working heat. Today is the coldest day of the year by far. We called Anthony at C&A, the guy called back in 10 mins and promised to be here before the end of the day. After working on multiple jobs the entire day almost 30 miles away they showed up at 7pm and quickly assessed the problem. Our chimney needs to be swept and they pulled a lot of debris out, the debris clogged the system and triggered a shutdown of the system (good thing)... they quickly resolved the problem, recommended a chimney sweep and said they would be back tomorrow to do a thorough maintenance on the entire system. They did all this with a smile and good conversation. Truly hard to come by people like this.. and I don't write reviews often. If you have cooling or heating needs you should take these guys into serious consideration. You really will not regret it. read more

We have had numerous problems with the maintenance and services of C & A since our new unit was installed. The service fees are outrageous, maintenance has been null & void and issues unresolved. We are considering action through legal resources. We do NOT recommend this company. Again, poor maintenance, unreliable resolutions and ridiculous service fees. read more
