I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

Then we called Cermignano. Their tech. tried a few things and said their sales team would be in contact to give us a few options. As it was about 90 degrees inside our house, he said he would put in the request as practically an emergency. And within 24 hours a wonderful sales person stopped a promptly provided replacement options/recommendations. We accepted their recommendations and within 3-4 days the new system was up & running.....and all this during a tremendous heat wave. To squeeze us in like that is worth more than 5 stars.
