When we saw the long lines for both the drive-through and the walk-up window (as we were driving to dinner), we knew that there must be something special about C&C creamery, and expected to come back to find out for ourselves. We arrived shortly before closing: the lines were short and the service was still cheerful. I had a "gelato" - ices with ice cream. Specifically, I chose mango ices and vanilla soft serve. Finally hit up C & C Creamery in Roxborough for my annual ice cream tradition. It was worth the trek. The staff handled the long line like pros, getting our orders out fast. I got a cookie dough sundae loaded with Butterfinger crumbles, chocolate, and walnuts--it was a massive sundae, but it actually looked great. This place seems to be super popular among the locals here. It's neat because there's a drive thru option which is perfect to stop by after strolling down Manayunk's Main Street. The service was a bit slow, but it was busy which is understandable. The dole whip was super good, and they have multiple flavors. The line itself was a tad stressful, since it's a wrap around line leading to two windows, entirely exposed outdoors (which was sad because it was raining). Came here today because it was a 60+ degree day and I went for a walk at the park. I waited in the notoriously long line and when I was next to the window waiting for the large families with multiple orders, a lady came up from the side where there's usually a drive through and offered to take the person behind me's order. He paid and was walking out before I even was called to the window. I was so frustrated because I live far and just didn't understand why, but I put in my order of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream and Resses Pieces and a pup cup. I walked to the car and realized I didn't get the right order, they gave me plain chocolate. I walked back up through the line to the window to ask if they were sure this was the right ice crew and they said yes. It's obviously Chocolate ice cream... no peanut butter cup and it tastes just like plain chocolate ice cream. If I was just gonna get plain Chocolate ice cream I would have gotten it anywhere instead of coming here. I will never ever ever come back again.
