Easily one of the best meals of our entire lives. Our server Bailey was fantastic and made each course perfect. We started with a handful of cocktails, including the Classic Old Fashioned, Mississippi Mule, Ain't No Sunshine, and Saturday in the Park. For meals, we selected the steak and mushroom pasta with brussels sprouts as well as the lemon parmesan chicken with asparagus. Both were rich and delicious and included generous portions. The whole meal from beginning to end was amazing. The ambience is relaxed with a balance of upscale and historic. We'll not be returning to Gulfport again without spending an evening here. read more

My family wanted to take me out for my 30th birthday and I decided on Rackhouse since it's one of our favorite restaurants on the coast. Our experience this time was very upsetting to say the least. Let me start off by saying our server, Lydia was absolutely amazing and made sure we were taken care of so none of this was her fault. We started off with 2 orders of the lamb chop appetizers ordered medium rare. One of the orders unfortunately came out almost completely raw as it was still purple/blue Everyone's food was great besides both my dad and I's steaks which we both ordered medium rare. My dad's 12 oz strip steak was half overcooked and half medium, he didn't want to make a big deal out of it since half of it was still decent. My 12 oz Wagyu ribeye steak came out completely overcooked which if I know im paying good money for a steak, I want it cooked correctly. Sent it back for a ny strip since it was a thicker cut of meat since I was afraid they'd overcook my steak again. I believe one of the managers came back out with the new steak and asked me to cut into it to make sure. The part I cut into was fine however as I continued to eat on my steak, i noticed half the steak was almost raw so I didn't eat that half. I didn't want to make a big deal since this was the third item now cooked improperly. To top things off, when we received the bill we noticed that they took off my first steak but was charged for the second steak which didn't sit right with me... I immediately let Lydia know I'd like to speak with the manager. She came back saying that they were just going to take the second steak off but it would've been nice for the manager to come out as requested which was also upsetting. This lackluster birthday dinner experience has honestly put a bad taste in my mouth and not sure when I will ever be back. read more

We started with the tuna & crab stack, a mix of silky yellowfin sashimi, sweet crab, avocado, sushi sauce, and a bright sriracha‑lime mayo. Fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. The Lamb Lollipops were tender and cooked perfectly medium, finished with herbs, olive oil, Greek pesto, and a creamy goat cheese sour cream that made every bite rich and savory. For entrées, the ribeye was juicy, well‑marbled, and full of flavor, paired with buttery sautéed spinach, creamy Parmesan risotto in a decadent white wine cream sauce. The Surf & Turf was just as impressive, a perfectly cooked New York Strip topped with crab, lobster, and shrimp, all drenched in a luxurious sauce. Our server was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, which made the experience even better. The ambiance is on the darker side, but it suits a steakhouse perfectly. I came here for a solo date. I was feeling like old money with a bit of cash to blow. I got the Caesar salad and the Australian Wagyu Ribeye, served RH Surf & Turf style. Unconventional to "tarnish" wagyu like that, I know, but it was what I wanted and I use my free will! For sides, I had the sweet potato brulee, mac and cheese, and I believe the creamed spinach. For dessert, I had the Brûlée. I ate the ice cream at the restaurant but took the rest to go. I needed privacy and the ability to take my time with it! ‍ Let me tell you, this was the best money I have ever decided to blow. The entire meal, I was miffed that I have lived here for over two years and have never stepped foot in there! All I know is I was craving espresso martinis for weeks after I had theirs! It is the BOMB DOT COM. Eating here had me feeling like I flew myself out. I rarely splurge or spoil myself, so that was such a treat and I am so happy with the result. Service was amazing, the drinks were delicious, and the food had no notes. My wagyu was a perfect and TRUE medium rare the first time! I usually have to send steaks back because nobody seems to actually understand what medium rare means around here. So, double props and thanks to the chef! My family and I take a yearly trip to Gulfport and usually my Dad likes to get a nice dinner at Half Shell Oyster House. It's been pretty bad the last two years in a row so this year we decided to try the owner's other restaurant! The Rack House looked very nice upon entry (other than some very dusty barrels which happened to be located right next to our table) and they were playing pleasant ambient music at the perfect volume. We were promptly seated and it didn't take long for our server to get drinks started for us! Most of us ordered waters, but my Mom ordered an extra dirty martini that unfortunately came out as being way more alcohol-heavy than she normally likes, but she didn't bring it up to our waiter. We got the sticky ribs as an appetizer, which the whole table agreed were VERY good. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and brought some free rolls and a variety of butters for us to try as well! My mom ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta while my dad ordered a steak. The pasta was good, but wasn't anything super special for the $23 price tag on it, and sadly my dad's steak came out very gristly and overdone. We told our waiter about the issue and he was quick to take it back to the kitchen to have a new steak made. While we were waiting, multiple managers (or at least what I can only assume were managers) apologized to us about the issue and assured us the new steak would be out soon. Our waiter--accompanied by one of the managers--brought the new steak out, and they waited to make sure it was cooked correctly this time as my dad cut into it. The second steak was an improvement, but it still wasn't very good. My dad didn't want to make a fuss about it and said it was alright. When our check came we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had comped the steak for us. Overall, it was a fairly good experience. The food wasn't terrible, and when there was a mistake the staff was more than happy to correct it. It seems like the people who run the place really do prioritize the guest experience and want people to be happy with the food they're paying for! I'm hoping it's just an unfortunate coincidence that their food just didn't measure up to the price tag this time, but it's difficult to say with only having visited once. read more

Loved the atmosphere and service! We had a secluded booth on level 1 just below the level 2 bar. One seat of this booth does face the kitchen door; but, the servers entered and exited quietly. I'm not sure of the possibility of a partition to block that view; I assume that would impede access. The rolls were phenomenal! The batch we received was nice and soft along with three small portions different of butters. I could have just eaten rolls for my meal; they were that delicious! Although steak meals only come with one side, we shared a steak, one side of garlic mashed potatoes and we each had a side salad. Both the garden salad and Caesar salad were very tasty. Unfortunately the steak was super thin, less than 1/2 inches. My husband likes medium so that's what we chose. Regrettably, it was pretty tough and cooked medium well to well done. It had an okay taste, but could have used more seasoning. I do not think it was a 13oz ribeye. In this type of restaurant, I definitely recommend when serving a $43 13oz ribeye, it should be thick-cut or clearly state on your menu 'thin cut'. Because everything else was so good, we chose not to send it back or say anything to our server. We couldn't even finish the steak. Hopefully this review will alert others to request a thick-cut steak, unless super thin is preferred, and to request it be cooked at least one level below what you actually prefer. read more

The salad was garbage due to the salad dressing balsamic, I order for my salad. I believe it's used only for Brussels sprout topping. The dressing was so thick I couldn't get it all on the salad. Not a good combine with salad. When I questioned the waitress, she said that was correct and the Consistency varies, everywhere else I went. I've never had anything like that on my salad. I believe the server just said whatever and never farther investigated it. The lamb pops are the main reason we go and the steak was decent. I probably won't be back for a while just because that experience, especially how much you pay, I think it's fair to say I want quality experience. read more

On our recent visit we had no reservations, but we were easily able to get a table upstairs looking over the main floor of the restaurant and enjoy an excellent meal. We loved the 8 oz Filet, Faroe Island Salmon, Fries & Garlic Biscuits. The Steak and Salmon were grilled to perfection and the garlic biscuits were a wonderful surprise. We went for birthday dinner. The food was 5 stars. We both had the fillet, which was perfectly cooked, and the wedge salad was delicious. But once again, the service was lacking. Bread was not brought out until we asked for it, so came out after our meals were delivered. Our conversation was interrupted several times when asked if we were doing okay. I was asked if I was going to "need a box for that" while I was obviously still eating my dinner. We were also asked if we were going to be ordering dessert, while we were still eating our dinner. We visited Rack House with a party of about 30 people. While the atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly, the area they seated us in was extremely cramped for such a large group. They offered a special featuring the Australian Wagyu ribeye topped with a lobster tail, lump crab meat, shrimp, and a white wine sauce with two sides. It sounded great, so most of our group ordered it. We also tried the bourbon pecan glazed bacon appetizer. The bacon itself was good, but the glaze was overly sweet and overpowered the balance of salty and sweet. As for the entrée, the steak was just "good." This was my first time trying a Wagyu cut, so maybe my expectations were too high based on the hype. The sides included sweet potato crème brûlée, rosemary fries, asparagus, and creamed spinach. All were delicious except the creamed spinach, which was just okay. Service, however, was very disorganized. With a large party, I expect some delays or mix-ups, but we had multiple drinks and items that never arrived or required repeated reminders to the staff. The biggest surprise came when the checks arrived. The "special" was priced at **$112**. It felt steep, but I paid it. The next day I checked their most recent Facebook menu and calculated roughly **$89** for the same items -- including the fact that the steak already comes with one side. That difference felt misleading. To make things worse, several people in our group received incorrect bills with items they didn't order or receive. Overall, the atmosphere and some of the food were enjoyable, but the cramped seating, disorganized service, and unexpected pricing left a disappointing impression for what should have been a special night. read more

This was a great steakhouse downtown in Gulfport. It has a great ambiance. Very good steaks. I had the prime delmonico and loved it. They also are known for their old fashioneds. They have a few house recipes from the bartenders but the unique side is being able to build your own. They have a very extensive bourbon list but not a lot of allocated bottles. Think every bottle under $75 but only a few rare ones. I wish they would at a minimum emphasize the Mississippi bourbons more. K Luke has several that I would have tried and Old soul has limited releases I'd like to try as well. read more

Also got wedge salads which were good but maybe not worth $7.50 each. I had the 8 ounce filet which was perfectly cooked and very tender. My wife had the surf and turf which comes out very pretty but is also excellent. It comes with 3 shrimp and some crabmeat for over $50. For dessert we had their amazing fried banana nut bread pudding with house made caramel bourbon ice cream. It is easily one of the best desserts on the entire coast. The Rackhouse is not cheap but is one of the better restaurants in Gulfport. It's definitely worth trying. read more

BEWARE--it was covered in garlic--not a fan. Wish I had known and I would have asked for them to HOLD the garlic. I ate very little of the steak and was looking forward to the hot bread. Do not bother making reservations at this restaurant because they do not honor them. We made reservations and we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes. A couple came in behind us, same thing. They should not advertise reservations if they do not honor them. Restaurants that do not want to hold tables normally will not offer a reservation. To me, it is like a bait and switch. read more
