#Oxtails More meat less potatoes and sauce a little salty, but a solid dish. Nice rice. Greens OK too, but big chunks of firm onion.

I have eaten here more than once and plan to go back. The sides aren't anything out of the ordinary but the rib tips and oxtails (Small portion, I believe you get 1 small and 1 large) are very good and well seasoned. A previous visit the oxtails were on the salty side. They were perfect this This is an updated review. The portion size this trip was 1 oxtail and 2 potatoes. Unfortunately, the sides were overwhelming with garlic from the jar. They tasted vinegary, including the Mac n cheese. I couldn't eat them.

Craving west Indian cuisine and I was referred to C&M's. My meal was great. They offer housemade bbq sauce that range mild to HOTT. You can dine in but for the space available, takeout may be best. I wish the side portions were larger but the cornbread make up for it.

Wow, Wow,and Wow! Comfort food at its best! My Mr and I wanted some Homestyle Caribbean BBQ and this place came up on yelp. Tons of great reviews that we had to try it! We walked in and loved the laid back atmosphere. Super small place but cozy decorated vintage with a twist of Jamaican flair. They have an outdoor patio in the front if you want to enjoy your meal outside. The owners son was super FRIENDLY and accommodating. I was indecisive with the type of sauce I wanted on my pulled pork and he let me try it. I had tons of questions and he was very patient with me . I made up my mind and decided to order the Pulled pork (hot bbq sauce instead of mild) dinner for $8.00 and as my two sides I got French fries and cornbread. My Mr. ordered the jerk chicken dinner as for his two sides he got Mac & Cheese and greens for $10.00. The desserts in the fridge looked so good that we had to grab the peach cobbler. When we got home, all we can smell was the goodness in the bag. The cornbread was super moist and definitely homemade, the pulled pork was tender and had great flavor!!! My Mr enjoyed his meal. At the end he was full and had a huge smile on his face. Besides BBQ, they do offer seafood and sandwiches at a reasonable price. A great selection of foods on their menu that you have to try them all. Thanks C&M for the great experience. We are definitely coming back!

C&M BBQ is located in northern Cincinnati. Its a bit of a haul to drive...but the scenery was nice. The restaurant is located in non-discript strip mall flanked by a beauty salon and a thrift store. The spot is more of a pick-up spot, though there are tables and chairs for sit in sating. Inside there are beautiful paintings and nostalgic displays...its actually very interesting. For food we ordered a little bit of everything. BBQ chicken, jerk chicken, BBQ ribs and curry chicken. I would say by far, their Jamaican food is awesome. I'm not a big fan of drumsticks and was disappointed when my jerk chicken consisted of two huge drumsticks, however they were so good and tender I quickly got over my disdain for drumsticks. There bbq items was ok. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't exciting. It was clear when I met the owner that they were Jamaican by ancestry and thus their Jamaican food outshined their bbq. The curry chicken was also wonderful, saucy with enough spice to taste the curry but mild enough for the "I don't do hot and spicy" crowd. The cost and portion size was very much appreciated. A jerk chicken dinner was $10. In times bbq dinners are reaching $12-16 a dinner with tiny side portions $10 with huge sides were a welcome site. The dinners came with two sides. We opted for macaroni and cheese, which was good but not great, plantains, which was awesome, and cabbage which was crispy and flavorful. Upon my return to Cincinnati I would revisit C&M Grill. Definitely worth the money.

I got carry out for the first time here on Saturday and it was amazing! The catfish dinner (flaky and thick) and the jerk chicken dinner (seasoned perfectly) were great. I will be back because the prices are fair. My only complaint would be I received green beans instead of greens, but the green beans were delicious!

Aww, I love her cooking. You are in for a treat when you eat her food. I forget to take pictures of the items I get when I get food from there. I love the art work from still photos to live archives of pieces collected that will hardly find anywhere. Such as the old cash register, art work on the walls, to the wooden carving pieces and other artifacts you will enjoy (look but don't touch). She has in place a candy and bubble gum machines. Beautiful decor of plants. I love that she has a section for business card and general information exchange. She is efficient with making sure your order is correct, hot and ready to go unless you are dining in. Try out the beef, chicken or veggie patties, jerk chicken (very favor full and spicy), mac n cheese, greens, cabbage, fried fish, deserts and more this is to name a few. Enjoy!

I first heard about C&M Grill a couple of weeks ago when looking on skipthedishes.com for meal delivery on a lazy Sunday. I was excited to find a barbecue and Caribbean place that delivered to my home. I didn't end up ordering that day but kept C&M on my list as a place to try. I stopped by here this weekend for an early dinner. It's a pretty small place and on a residential street near the intersection of Kennedy Ave and Montgomery Rd. Parking was actually pretty easy though. There are only about three or four tables in the restaurant and a few outside. There is also a cooler with sodas and desserts. I opted for the rib tips dinner which was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes are huge and it was basically enough for a dinner and leftovers. I was excited to find some authentic Jamaican sodas is in the cooler. They have Pineapple Soda, Kola Champagne, and Ting Grapefruit Soda. For my dessert I got the red velvet cake, which was just so-so. It seemed like it had been there a while. Although this place is kind of divey, it is definitely a great bang for your buck! My dinner was only $9! It's gets bonus points for the fact that A) it delivers and B) is pretty close to my home!

The meat is good but the sides are seasoned with water absolutely no flavor but the chicken and ribs are very tender and well cooked

Jamaican Beef Patty - owner says it is mild, but it does pack a bit of a spice punch

C&M BBQ Grill is a place well worth finding, but it can be a little hard to find. Get yourself to the corner of Montgomery Road and Kennedy Avenue (theres a big closed Kroger store here), turn onto Kennedy (you can only turn in one direction) and its about 30 feet down Kennedy on your left. There's parking on the street here, but a lot more behind the building C is for Cecil, and M is for Mary (Cecil's wife), and Mary explained to me as she got my food ready today that they make all the food on premises, from their own recipes. They have a mix of foods that center around the themes of Bbq (of course), Jamaican, and Southern. I had a hard time deciding between several very appealing options - jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, bbq ribs, brown stew chicken, turkey tips - and ultimately went with a pulled pork plate (7.25) with plantains and mac-n-cheese. You can get the pulled pork pre-sauced with either a mild or a hit sauce, or sauce on the side. The pulled pork itself was very good. Not up to Eli's standards, but very good nonetheless, and you can get a generously-piled pulled pork sandwich here for just 3.50 - versus 5 bucks at Elis. I have to ding them a little here for 2 big chunks of fat I had to pull out - had these been chopped up finely, I probably wouldnt have noticed. The mac-n-cheese was good - it was creamy rather than custardy style, but a little on the dry side like the custard-style tends to be. That said, the flavor and texture were spot on. My absolute favorite item was the fried plantains, which came in long slices rather than the round cuts I am used to. Mary fresh-fried these form me, and I think that made all the difference. Simple but fantastic. Seeing that they had jamaican patties (2.25) on the menu, I had to have one of those as well, and asked for a mild one as my tolerance for spice heat is limited. This was solidly good as well, but let me tell you - even the mild one packs some noticeable heat, so unless you're the type that drinks hot sauce straight from the bottle, go with the mild over the hot They generally have a daily lunch special of a pulled pork sandwich with either potato saald or slaw and a soft drink for 5 dollars, but this is subject to daily change There are a number of interesting things on the menu, with one I had never seen before anywhere - vegetarian mettwurst. Mary said she couldn't explain it, I'd just have to try it, as it is her own recipe. They have a number of cakes and pies in the cooler on the left as you enter, and a few bottled jamaican soft drinks like Ting as well. No alcohol. Prices are very reasonable, and most credit cards are accepted. Local delivery is available through Grubhub Recommended

Turkey tips, green beans, and collareds. This whole plate was $11 - get to C&M!

I found out about this place because of the groupon (2 $10s for your $10), and after looking it up on Yelp I decided I had to try it. Bought the groupon, but sat on it for a few weeks because I was never in the area, until a friend of mine posted a picture of their excellent looking turkey tips and I knew I couldn't wait, the next day I happened to have a Dr.'s appointment down the street, and it became clear that fate wanted me to eat at C&M BBQ! Finding the location, and parking ,was easy, a quiet side street in silverton with ample street parking, a few tables to sit and eat outside, or a beautiful field right across the street if you wanted to bring a blanket and do it picnic style. Walking inside this place is every bit the dive the photos make it out to be - it's a walk up window and a few tables, a stand with condiments and plastic silverware, and a cooler of drinks/desserts. Nothing fancy, nothing you don't need. The women working the counter were both extremely polite and helpful, I only knew I wanted to chow down on some delicious bbq, and they helped me from there. I ended up going with the large order of turkey tips, with hot bbq sauce on the side (made in house and I got a sample of first - it kicks, but not enough to overwhelm the flavor of the awesome smoked meat), the green beans, and dressed collards. The plate came loaded up with two giant hunks of smoked turkey, good sized servings of veggies, and two slices of white bread, all for the groupon and a single dollar bill! By the time I got it home and pulled the meat off the bone I was ravenous from the smell, and it lived up to everybit of the promise - the turkey was still moist and juicy, with a great smoked flavor that was only enhanced by the slightly spicy, slightly sweet barbecue. The sides had both absorbed a lot of flavor from a long cook, but didn't really have a crisp left in the beans. That's fine by me, as the cooking liquid was well seasoned and flavorful, but if you're a vegetable purist you... probably aren't eating at hole-in-the-wall bbq joints. But if you're a smoked meat purist... get yourself to C&M!

Curried goat, mac and cheese, and greens
    Santeri P.

I love curried goat and C&M did not disappoint. Nice chunks of meat cooked with tons of curry flavor. It was comparable to other goat curries around town although not my favorite. The oxtail was good but was pretty heavy on the salt, it was noticeable in every bite and was a bit overwhelming after several bites. The greens were cooked really tender and had meat in them that I am guessing was pork, very good. The mac and cheese was good and more cheesy than creamy which is the way I like it. The red beans and rice is a good accompaniment for any of their meals. The plantains were fantastic, starchy and not sweet, with a little bit of crispness on the ends. I liked the plantains here better than other places around town. Washed it all down with a ginger beer. I wish they had some hot sauce on the condiment shelf, love hot sauce in my mac and cheese. The menu basically consists of Jamaican food and bbq. They have a little window on the back wall that looks into the kitchen where you place your order. I could see through the kitchen out the back door and could see the grill going so they were busy cooking food fresh while we were there. I would like to come back and check out the jerk chicken and the bbq.

I was out shopping for clothes at a second hand store in the Norwood area and then I brought my wife some flowers for our 6 month anniversary and I also brought a brand new vacuum this particular day because I felt that I deserved a new one. I had a vacuum prior but this day something told me to pull the trigger. So I did and all was well. I had positive energy and I said: self let's get some bbq while I'm out and on this side. It was maybe 1:40 pm. I work at 3:30pm. I Googled bbq and this place stood out. Let me tell you. The meals were horrible. I got rib tips, Sweet potatoes and potato salad for myself. Turkey chops sweet potatoes and potatoe salad for my wife. This crap SUCKS. I had a fifty dollar bill and they had no change so I paid with my debit card and tipped the joint, and they tacked on $2 or so for the credit transaction. So 37 buck for crap. Only thing that was good was the store brought potatoes salad. I felt bad for my wife having to taste that crap after the beautiful flowers and all. Eat some potted meat and crackers yo. Save your bread ($). FACTS

Every visit feels like a treat, but lately they've taken things up a notch with a lineup of signature cocktails. I tried the espresso martini, and it was outstanding--smooth, balanced, and the perfect complement to the bold, smoky flavors coming out of the kitchen. As for the food, it's consistently excellent. The dry rub wings are my go-to: perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat and flavor, and even better when paired with their bama white sauce. If you're leaning sandwich, you can't go wrong with a pulled pork or pulled chicken sammy topped with their Carolina gold sauce--it's tangy, slightly sweet, and completely addictive. And the fries? Thick-cut, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside--exactly what great fries should be. Beyond the food and drinks, Lucius Q really shines as a place to gather. They have a fantastic event space that comfortably holds around 50 people--perfect for parties or private events. It's also one of the rare downtown spots with plenty of TVs, making it a great place to catch a game. Add in live music most Fridays and a great outdoor patio for those perfect Cincinnati weather days, and it's easy to see why this place is always buzzing. I've eaten my way through every smokehouse in Cincinnati, so when I say Midwest Best BBQ is the real deal, believe me. My arteries are practically Yelp-certified. The team of servers and cooks seems like they recruited an entire football team of young men from the University of Cincinnati; service so fast you'd think they were running a two-minute drill, attentive enough to make your mom jealous, and coordinated like they're protecting the quarterback only this time, the quarterback is your pulled-pork sandwich. Their wings, rubs, and sauces? Every single flavor profile was so good I nearly proposed to the coleslaw. And don't get me started on the G-Funk wings. They're delightful, though naming wings after a rap genre means you half expect Dr. Dre to hand you wet wipes. And let's talk about the smoking schedule. They've got a night smoker and a day smoker, which sounds less like a BBQ setup and more like a buddy-cop movie: "Day Smoker plays by the rules, Night Smoker breaks 'em, but together they deliver justice... in the form of brisket." Mark, one of the owners, literally smokes meat during a half-day shift with the love and passion of a Michelin-star chef who moonlights as Cupid. This guy makes ribs like he's serenading them. If Hallmark made a "Brisket Romance" channel, Mark would star in every single movie. I bought several pounds of meat to take home. Not "a pound." Several. Because nothing says "self-control" like hiding a bag of smoked chicken behind your kale in the fridge. Exclamation point. Period. Now, location... ...here's the kicker. They're hidden off the road over a hundred yards. That's right, it's the Area 51 of BBQ. You basically need Google Maps, a Sherpa, and divine intervention to find them. Yet, somehow, when you do, it feels like stumbling upon the Ark of the Covenant... ...only tastier, and fewer Nazis melting. Inside? Casual. TVs locked on Bengals or Reds games, so you can watch disappointment while you eat happiness. Patio? Shaded. Perfect for when you want to sweat from the hot sauce, not the sun. The sides? Top echelon. Beans, slaw, cornbread, each one a little sidekick to the main meat superhero. And for the low-carb crowd, this place is a protein paradise. Keto bros rejoice: you can bench-press your brisket guilt-free. Bottom line: Midwest Best BBQ doesn't just feed you, it baptizes you in smoke, sauce, and joy. And if you're not leaving with meat sweats, did you even go?

Second our service was spectacular, we had Ron as our server he was a true gentleman friendly, attentive, and very experienced from what we could tell. The main host was very accommodating, at first we were sat in a spot we did not like we told him and he moved us to a perfect spot with no hesitation. Third the price was very fair and well worth what we paid. $100 Food Poisoning…read more My husband was really wanting ribs and we had always heard good things about this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly on the heated patio upstairs. When we sat down, they instantly gave us our water and then we didn't see our waitress for about fifteen minutes. The waitress finally came and we went ahead and ordered our appetizers, drinks, and ribs all at same time because we didn't know when she'd be back (even told them no need to delay the entree to try to hurry things along). We waited quite a bit for our appetizers- about an hour. The couple next to us even left before they got their entrees and were very upset and spoke to the manager. We got the appetizers first- onion straws and the meatballs/grits. Meatballs were.... not good. Very very herby with an uncomplimentary sauce, grits were bland, but at least the onion straws were good. Ribs can out about 20 minutes later. We shared them and got mac as a side. Mac tasted very generic. We were very excited about the ribs but they were a let down. Sauce was very sweet and for price we paid I expected a bigger slab (we got the full slab). Went ahead and got our check while we were still eating so we could hurry home. Now, the real surprise came that evening. Husband got very very bad food poisoning- like the up all night kind. I'm not sure if it was his side of the ribs or the grits but it was BAD. Can't believe we paid over $100 for someone in the kitchen to not follow basic food safety protocol!! We will not be back! Money is better spent elsewhere!
