Went here during Sat around lunch time. The place was clean. I got 1. Jerk Chicken(4/5) - The chicken was boneless (which I did not expect) and a tad bit chewy. The jerk sauce and the rice combo was very good. 2. Red snapper with a side of plantains- The fish was cooked amazing. Be careful with the bones. The sauce had vinegar flavor with tomatoes, carrots and onion. It was very good. But it's a pain to eat the fish with bones. Overall a decent place.

Our recent lunch here was really good! My husband ordered the Oxtail Stew. I ordered the Curry Chicken. We both thought our meals were delicious. Flavorful and filling. The service was quick and friendly. We'd definitely stop in again sometime.

I stopped for some good african food near cincinatti. I was pleasantly surprised to see the diversity in the menu from sengalese, to ghanian, to nigerian, to american, and the list goes on! I had the Maffe, bissap, and chawarma. The chawarma was the best I ever has. The seasoning was something I've never tried before. The Bissap was rich yet refreshing and the maffe was delicious and full of flavor. The service was quick and the servers were very friendly!! A very cute and cozy shop 10/10 would recommend!!

Sene creates Senegalese joy! Over the month of December '22, my wife and I have been trying different restaurants around Cincinnati and have found the local family owned restaurants have really stood out, and Sene kept the tradition going. We found it ironic that such a unique restaurant is nestled next to Subway, the mass producer of corporate blah. We had the Red Snapper, Jerk Chicken, Fataya (like empanadas), and Lamb Yassa. I also had a side of Plantain Aloco, which is a hearty cut and fried plantain. We all shared and agreed that each meal was quite delicious and unique. A couple of us had the fresh-made juices and they were also quite unique and tasty. The interior of the restaurant was functional with seating for 10-15 and they had a steady flow of takeout and drive through.

Cliff notes: Absolutely giant servings of incredible food. Service with a smile, and with genuine care in to each and every from-scratch, housemade ingredient. Every marinade, sauce, dressing, rub, it's all put together by the chefs every day, and it tastes like it. This isn't a bunch of steam-table stuff you can "throw together", this is actual good COOKING from fresh ingredients to delicious dishes. Couldn't be happier with my food from SeneGrill. Long form: I had really wanted to try Sene Grill for awhile, but never up north. Was literally passing by on the highway and remembered I need to check it out. Mild menu indecisiveness was helped out by the guy answering the phones, expoing orders, and working the drive thru (seriously they have a drive thru, it's dope). He also happened to be the owner. When I said I'd never had their food he decided I needed to try their chicken wing, and it was absolutely fire - deliciously spicy and sweet chili rub, just the right amount of heat, and a perfect fry. I was eager to get home and dig in to my Grilled Lamb dinner. Problem is - this isn't a "dinner" unless you are in an eating contest or feeding a family. This is multiple meals, I'm talking about a solid pound of meat and some bones, with the most flavorful rub. Perfectly cooked, charred in the right way, falling apart when hit with a knife, yet toothy and meaty.... I've literally never had better lamb, and I've paid a hell of a lot more than the $13 I dropped here. Owner was truly appreciative and thankful to everyone that came through, and he delivers some fantastic food. Go out and try it, I know I'm going back.

Plate has Jerk chicken, Senesmach oxtail stew & brochette (kebabs) on it. Delish!

We had a wonderful meal from Sene Grill tonight. We couldn't decide on just two things to share.. so we got four! The BROCHETTE (kebabs) were great (and was my favorite). The onion sauce and yellow rice we had with it was delicious. Next we had the FATAYA with beef. Crispy and so good! The JERK CHICKEN - I thought it was amazing too. The rice & beans + plantain.. go so well with the heat. We rounded things out with the SENESMACH- Oxtail Stew. The slow heat from the scotch bonnets + the slightly sweet onions with cabbage.. just delicious. The heat and the seasonings are so perfect with every dish. We can't wait to try more.

We visited this restaurant in its infancy. We were impressed that the (presumably) owner was so excited about what he had to offer that he brought out samples of wings, etc. Everything was good. Today, we made a special trip to experience it again. Every dish was bright, authentic, and flavorful. The young men on the floor are friendly and focused. I can't recommend this place enough!!

Went here again for the first time in awhile. The place is still amazing. We ordered a few things including one thing we never had (chicken curry) and it was great. My friend got there salad and loved it. As usually we are impressed with the food. Only downfall: 1$ for water.

I initially drove past this and didn't think twice. Then I saw the words Senegalese food. Hmm, sounded interesting. Yelp reviews raved about the goodness. That very day, I went back and ordered. Here are my findings: Faves: Jerk chicken-has the perfect amount of seasoning. It gave my lips a little twang, just like jerk is supposed to do. Plaintans-cooked to perfection. Not too sweet, not too starchy. Chicken quesadilla- hot and fresh. Cabbage- seasoned well. So-so: Rice and beans were decent, I'd prefer more seasoning. Beef Fataya- needs more seasoning, maybe jerk seasoning inside. This was basically hamburger meat. It did come with onion sauce on the side that was delicious.. The inside of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The carpet made me feel dirty, the atmosphere was cold. The decor could be a little better. It did not feel very comforting. All in all. I'd go back again.

Wanted to try Senegalese food and had dinner here. There is indoor dining available or take out. The dinners we got were delicious and moderately priced. The flavors blended together in a very delicious taste. Got the lamb and yellow rice.

Wow, this place has some fantastic food. So full of flavors and obviously freshly made. My only concern which keep this from a 5-Star review is that the owner who spoke to us didn't have a mask on when taking our order nor did he make a customer put hers on when she came into the store. Beyond that the food was top tier, the juices were delicious, and my service was great. I wish I lived closer.

We drove right by here twice. We didn't see it next to the subway restaurant and the sign is a little hard to read. We went in and the place was small and not much in the way of decor. There were also a couple of children screaming in the hallway. The girl who waited on us was extremely nice although my mom wanted a tea without sweetener and I just don't think she got that. She gave her an Arizona with honey in it. She gave me a Diet Pepsi when I ordered a Diet Coke. I will say that the food is spiced very well. I had the kabobs and the chicken on the kabobs was very good but the beef on the kabobs was overcooked and tough. I definitely liked how much flavor it had though due to the seasonings used. On the side I had couscous that had tomato and onion with it. The couscous was cooked perfectly. My mom ordered the veggies and was happy with those. Although there was no salt on the table and she had to ask for some. They also brought us a couple of samples of their dishes while we were waiting and that was really nice! We will probably give this another try.

House made juices....Bouye, Kinkeliba, and Bissap... yummo!

Sene Grill is a delicious fusion of Senegalese and American cuisine. The Republic of Senegal is located in West Africa. Sene Grill has great food, great prices, great customer service, great owner, and great employees! Everything is freshly made to order and so delicious. Ousmane, the owner, saw our team outside working at our office and surprised us by bringing us some samples to try from his new restaurant. He brought us: Neme (Egg Roll) and Beef Fataya....they were absolutely delicious! Everyone loved them. I stopped there yesterday to get takeout for my family and I for dinner. I ordered the Beef Fataya ($6), (you can get it filled with beef or salmon). It is four fried meat pies, served with a marinated onion brown sauce. Yummo! I also ordered the Chicken Chawarma ($6.99), (you can get it with chicken or beef). It is chicken, mayo, tomatoes, green peppers, banana peppers, french fries, and marinated onion sauce, all wrapped up in a tortilla shell. Yummo! My son got the Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla ($6.00), with a side of French Fries. The Quesadilla was so smokey and delicious tasting. They have fresh house made juices. They gave us samples of three different ones to try,. They were so delicious we bought one of each to bring home. The Bissap, the Bouye, and the Kinkeliba. They were all unique in flavor and in taste, and very refreshing! So delicious! Yes, I recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Don't expect lavish decoration or upscale furniture. However, what you can expect is a place that is loved by the community and they have a closed off section for prayer (for my Muslim friends) they are kind and welcoming. I would 100% come visit again. Price- it's a little pricey but on average with the local market and $18 for the amount of food I got is good.

He brought us a menu and excitedly described the lunch options. Once we made our decisions, he brought us hot Chai tea to sip while we waited for our food. My sister ordered the lamb shank while I ordered the chicken stew. Both dishes came with basmati rice (that was brown with spices and flavor) and a salad. We thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious food. The meat fell off the bone of her lamb shank and my chicken stew was beyond delectable. At the time of this review (March 2025), the restaurant had only been in operation for about 4-5 months. So, the minimal decorations and decor are probably because the restaurant is so new. I'm sure the owners will make the place look a little nicer once they are able sustain and stay in business. Because the food was so tasty, I didn't remove one star for lack of good decor. We enjoyed our meals so much that we plan to return when we are in the area.
