I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.

As this was unavoidable, I got on the hunt for a reputable, highly recommended moving company. And I was super duper happy to find A Few Good College Men. Their communication was great, the charges were clearly laid out, they arrived on time, and most importantly took the utmost care with my belongs and furniture. Clearly they have been in the business for a while, because the truck was loaded so intricately and with a lot of care. We had two stops - the first to drop off stuff to the house and the next to the storage unit. With both stops - I was really impressed with the professionalism. All in all, my husband and I both agree that they were excellent value for money; and I really felt peace of mind throughout the moving process! A colleague recommended to me and my husband Town & Country Movers. They even gave us some tips on packing. While it took a few outreaches to get formally on their calendar, after that, it was all very smooth. We did all the packing ourselves, but they did offer that as a service (note: we had a couple plates break, so next time, we'll probably pay a little extra to have them pack instead). On the day of the move, three very kind, competent staff showed up. They were quick, efficient, and wrapped all our furniture so carefully. They arrived a couple days ahead of schedule to our new apartment (and called us to let us know in advance), which ended up working out beautifully. The unloading was smooth, too. I had a pretty hectic move in day because of my personal oversight on what I needed day of move. I will say the mover driver was a bit predatory because they had to wait for me to get my cashiers check and it was a Sunday where all banks are closed. He said he would have to charge me for the wait time but then when it was time to pay made it seem like he made that up as a way to get more money out of me and said he could just apply the wait time fee to the tip instead. I did not appreciate that as I was already planning to tip. I will say when the company I used previously I did appreciate that they wrapped everything they moved. This company did not do that I'm not sure if it is something they offer and it's just extra. Overall my biggest issues was with the movers and that I lost a few items but overall a decent experience.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!
