Up for hiking over the weekend and stayed in Kyburz... I found CT's warm and welcoming, with delicious food. I ate breakfast twice here and both times the service and food were just fantastic. Day one was coffee, eggs, thick toast & O'brien potatoes; day 2 was chicken fried steak, eggs, coffee and hash browns. All of it was so tasty, and not a bad price either. Very relaxing inside also. This is a decent place to eat. It would have at least four stars if portions were bigger. Many of the customers are elderly, so perhaps that's why their portions are so low; but, not every customer should get the senior type of plate. Be sure to ask if anything is on special for that moment, or any non-menu items being offered. Loses another star from me, because their hours are often inconsistent! The lady working on Friday morning, August 2nd was shockingly rude. Instead of greeting us when we came in, the first thing she said was "Before you get comfortable, we don't allow outside drinks, there's a sign on the door." We are in town camping and just had breakfast here yesterday morning and the lady working was by herself serving a full restaurant alone. She was really sweet and had great customer service. When we first got there, we didn't get the best service right away. We waited about 10 minutes before we even had our drink orders taken and I had to ask three times for a glass of water. However, once we actually got our food, the service got better and the food was delicious. They gave us big portions for a cheap price and everything was cooked perfectly! We couldn't finish all the food we had and so we took some home for later! There are not too many places in Pollock Pines to eat for breakfast so this would be the one I would go to! I went to C and T's last week for lunch and had the Shrimp Taco Salad. It was flavorful, not too spicy. There's hot sauce available at the table for those who like heat. I enjoyed it so much that I went back 2 days later and had the same thing. The salad is loaded with shrimp, beans, tomato, avocado, lettuce and cheese. The salad bowl, while deep fried, was not greasy. I could tell that the chef uses fresh oil because there's no after taste of oil. My husband and I were traveling with our 17 month old son, didn't know the area and stumbled upon this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the small staff, allowed to sit where we like and immediately asked what we'd like to drink. It was obvious that this was a local favorite. My husband always gets the chicken fried steak and eggs wherever we go, and theirs was ranked in his top 3! My son and I shared a short stack, eggs and bacon. I think he beat me to most of it! We stopped here on our way to see the snow. First impression, just a small diner. The woman who greets us (short red hair, glasses) was rude. She immediately said, you cant have those cups in here (outside coffee cup) we have a sign, no one pays attention. Okay. Not that serious, I went to put my coffee in my car ( we still had a long ride to go). At this point my husband said, let's go (but we still had a ways to go, I suggested we stay.) Now on to the food, it was mediocre.. Dennys has better, in my opinion.. but hey there is no Denny's off Sly park road. Hashbrowns was the only thing going for breakfast.. pretty sure we wont stop here again unless it's the only thing open. I'd rather go down the ways to sportsman (customer service is better). Oh yea, the sign they have is hand written and on a note pad piece of paper, easily missed.. they should upgrade that if they want people to see it. read more

Stopped by on my way home from Tahoe and it was the best breakfast I have had in months. I got a turkey avocado and cheese omelette with potatoes and hot chocolate. The potatoes tasted amazing. This place was great! Stopped in here on our way home from hubbies 50 mile Tahoe Rim Trail run and it hit the spot. We debated not stopping due to a few bad reviews but decided to 'just see'. C and T restaurant in Pollock Pines is my favorite place to eat. The breakfast/lunch menu is extensive but excellent. Our favorites are the omelets and hash browns. There are vegetarian options available and plenty of sausage, bacon and other meat to satisfy anyone. They recently extended their hours to include Mexican menu. The food is the best Mexican food in the county. Generous helpings and flavor profiles that go from mellow to super spicy. This is a great addition to our little Pollock Pines town. Check them out for breakfast lunch and now the flavor of Mexico on the weekends in the evening. You will be happy you did. read more

We live in Nevada and met our SoCal daughters and Granddaughters here. Great food. Great service. The restaurant was not busy so we got to linger and visit. We will be back.
