Easily one of my favorite dining experiences of my life. I went here with my wife seeking a quality date night on a budget. We made our reservation a few days out -- be sure to do this! This spot fills up quickly, and for good reason! We were greeted by a very friendly server and were given complimentary shots of soju. It was superb! We went ahead and ordered an assortment of items (they recommend two or three per person, which I think is perfect). The dishes range from $10 to $20 or so, and we ordered both desserts. A few pics attached to this review. A few notes: 1) get the deli bagel. Just do it. I promise, it's worth your time! 2) I highly recommend the potato nuggets, popcorn chicken, and hot pocket; 3) sweet tea is a win if you're a sweet tea person; 4) go to the bathroom at some point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A note on ambiance: be prepared for a decently small dining room with very dim lighting. Vibes were phenomenal though. Prepare for a very comfy, somewhat loud, yet vibrant sitting area, and bring your sense of humor...this will make sense later :)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] From start to finish, C as in Charlie provided a really entertaining dining experience. I cannot recommend this place enough!

The Green Pea Salad and Baby Back Ribs were standout dishes. The Tofu Ricotta Spread was underseasoned for my taste, while the Seoul'sbury Steak and Corn Mac & Cheese were good but not especially memorable. The Mushroom Bibimbap was salty/ deep soy-forward flavors. The waiter mentioned that portions are small and recommended ordering 2-3 dishes per person. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating was tight and uncomfortable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but overall the menu was interesting.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small but cozy restaurant which makes you feel welcomed the moment you sit down at the table and they bring you a taste of sake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the dishes are delicious and creative. Must get the popcorn chicken, the crab drop, the ribs and the pasta. The b as in banana is a fun dessert.

D as in Delicious!!!! THANK YOU SOPHIE for being such an AMAZING AND SWEET host!!! Highly highly highly recommend the mushroom bibimbap. To be honest, this was the dish that I was least excited about because I thought to myself, it's just mushrooms. But I was so pleasantly surprised and so blown away. The flavors are delicious and I would certainly come back for this dish again. **FOOD HACK - order the corn-y salad and make lettuce boats w the corn and mushroom bibimbap. Flavors goes crazy!!!!!!*** Second favorite had to be the snow crudo. Such a unique way to present scallops! They had pieces of thinly sliced radish and it was such a pleasant texture and flavor contrast paired w the scallops The toast roll, you can't go wrong with it. Who doesn't like fried items? I appreciate the shell, because it's not a spring roll wrapper or a wonton wrapper. I was wondering what it was made of... but regardless, still delicious Oxbone cream pasta was my least favorite. Not because it wasn't good but because compared to the other dish presentations, seemed basic. Didn't taste much of the Oxbone They give you a welcome shot, and I would definitely make a reservation if you're thinking about coming here.

C as in Charlie has a lot of fun little touches. They give you a complimentary shot of sake when you sit down and dum dum pops on your way out. The food is really well done, though it runs a bit heavy. My favorite was the oxbone cream pasta, a twist on Korean ox bone soup and one of the more interesting dishes I've had recently. The B as in banana dessert is interactive where you decorate it yourself, which was a nice surprise. Service was amazing and attentive the whole time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom also has a Vsauce video projected on the wall which was funny.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would come back if I'm in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the food and service and the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ate here in the summer and the tables were outside. All the food was delicious but they are more modern versions of the traditional Korean food. We would go back again. They even had the traditional summer treat watermelon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restroom was also very intriguing worth a visit. Unusual and something to see[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am glad I saw this vibe going in on our way to another restaurant. It is a cool experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A must go to!

I wish I lived in C as in Charlie. I'm always looking for a cozy Asian-American joint with elevated, inventive food that looks like it could be my living room if I was cooler and had better taste in interiors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]C as in Charlie delivers in an intimate venue and the nicest staff who help deliver some of the best food I've had in NYC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love popcorn chicken but it can't be too sweet or too saucy or too spicy, or whatever. C as in Charlie's chicken is perfect -- platonic ideals of boneless nuggets coated in sauce. Excellently done. Everything else we had was equally incredible, including the complimentary sake shot that we received. We also had a house makgeolli that was delicious and quite strong (danger!!) Definitely get the Deli Bagel, no spoilers but it is a show-stopper and must-have. Will come again if we get lucky enough to snag another reservation!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Most important thing I'd want someone to know is how loud it is, so that they're prepared and can decide if that's the vibe they're seeking. Lively music + 45 guests + wood tables and chairs on wood floors with brick walls = everyone raises their voice to be heard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The young staff was friendly and fast, and this year the place celebrates I think it's fifth anniversary so clearly have a winning formula with their small plates for sharing concept.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]C as n Charlie is a fun place to catch up with friends, and have some creative Korean tapas dishes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd say overall, the presentation of the dishes and environment of the atmosphere stand out more than the taste of the dishes themselves (although don't get me wrong, they are still quite tasty). We ordered the toast roll, popcorn chicken, seoul'sbury steak, oxbow cream pasta, and mushroom bibimbap. The popcorn chicken had a very cute presentation, but the chicken wasn't super crispy so would probably pass on this next time. The oxytone cream pasta, mushroom bibimbap, and toast roll were probably my favorite dishes! I was running a bit late to my reservation, and the staff were super accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really great service and enjoyed the cozy environment, but food itself didn't particularly stand out to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

C as in Charlie is one of those places you keep coming back to--and for good reason. The staff are incredibly friendly, and beyond the amazing food, it's their hospitality that really stands out. They have a way of making you feel right at home every time you walk in. The popcorn chicken is my personal favorite and an absolute must-order on every visit. I'm a regular here, and it easily ranks in my top five recommendations for anyone visiting NYC. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating can be a little tight at times but definitely visit in the warmer months when they open up their additional outdoor patio/street seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food was creative, flavorful, and filling. Really enjoyed my experience here and the staff were all super cool vibes. Prices were fair and I would definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu. Must try!

C as in Charlie is D as in delightful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant has a lively, packed yet intimate interior. Outside seating along the street is also available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter had come once before and declared it one of her favorite meals since moving to NYC! Naturally, we came here for our first dinner in the big apple. Our dining experience hit all the marks. Terrific service provided. They greet you warmly and offer a welcome shot of sake. Food is shared family style tapas. Don't let the small plates fool you - you'll eat to your hearts content and then some. Our group of 4 ordered: beet hummus, popcorn chicken, mushroom bibimbap, potato nuggets, toast roll, imbibe cream pasta, green tomato hot pocket and seoul'sbury steak. Then B as in banana for dessert. The dishes came out quickly in steady succession soon after we ordered. All were flavorful, well prepared with great presentation. My favorites were the toast roll, oxbone pasta, potato nuggets, and popcorn chicken. The bibimbap was also a big hit. Wonderful meal and experience!

We were in town and meeting up with some friends and catching up, and I don't know which video it was on YouTube(i think Topjaw maybe?) but they were highlighting the food and I made a note to get some reservations. They do only allow a 2 hour time limit for a party of 4. My friend was running 20 mins late so the servers kept reminding us of the time limit. Luckily we were done dining by that time, so not sure what the outcome would have been if we had overstayed by even a couple of minutes. Never had a restaurant do this many reminders about a dining time limit. Kind of the only bummer otherwise would have been a perfect 5 from me. But man the mushroom bibimbap? I could have eaten 2 bowls by myself. The potato nuggets were very delicious too. Not the best for me was the popcorn chicken- it felt way oversauced. And the green tomato hot pocket.. mostly just tasted of the cheese. Food portion sizes were honestly great for sharing between our 4 person group. But I'd still recommend this place. It was clearly very busy and buzzworthy and I guess that's why they are so cognizant of their dining limit enforcement.

A friend and I chose to experience the Restaurant Week lunch special since neither of us had been to this restaurant before. We sat at the bar and decided to go for the $19 lunch special they serve Monday - Friday instead. We had alot of staff servicing us. Even though we sat at the actual bar, we had a floor server attending to us as well as the bar staff. We even met the manager, Tiffany, as she introduced herself to us and made sure we were taken care of properly. The UWS location is huge. It is about 2/3rds of a North/South block with an enclosed patio built in the front of the restaurant. The bar is simply beautiful. It is half inside and half on the sidewalk also semi enclosed. I did not walk around the inside of the restaurant but I did see there were alot of mirrors and a darker interior. Bar was filled with liquor on the walls and gave it a modern day saloon feel. Very comfortable and inviting. We ordered drinks initially. They were carefully crafted and tasty on a hot summer day. I ordered the Waldorf Salad lunch special and my friend had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I must say the portions are large. They make sure you do not leave hungry! :) Both entrees came with soup and a second side. I had the biscuit and honey/maple butter. Oh my was it heavenly. My friend was super satisfied with her sandwich. It looked like a meal fit for a Queen! All of the food was seasoned well. While we were still enjoying our meal the bar changed from lunch to happy hour service. My friend decided to order the Margarita flight. It came with three flavored margaritas for a mere $12. I tried the Spicy Brine Margarita and it will now be the only drink I have for future visits. So delicious and flavorful. We were having such a great time as the bar filled with patrons and we spoke with our neighbors. At this time one of our servers brought us a complimentary pretzel. It was the star of the show from presentation to taste I would recommend anyone to try it. The bathrooms are unisex. By the time I needed to use it the restaurant was crowded and so it needed to be serviced. The stall I utilized had a strong urine smell and needed a proper cleaning. Management might consider placing air fresheners in each stall to at least give the illusion of cleanliness. This restaurant raised the bar for hospitality! The service was top notch as well as the food and atmosphere. If you have not tried this place I highly suggest that you do. It is a 100 out of 10 establishment for NYC! My gratitude goes out to all of the wait staff and bartenders that made our experience so wonderful.

Brunch at Jacob's Pickles is a real treat. I ordered the coleslaw with pickles as a side, it was delicious. The breakfast platter was absolutely massive and overall good, a bit salty for me, and the biscuit was a bit soft. But the grits were delightful. I sat at the bar, so the service was fine, though not particularly memorable. What I loved most was the patio: it's partially open and partially enclosed, letting you enjoy plenty of natural light while staying cool in the air conditioning. It gives you the feeling of dining outdoors without the noise or wind from the street. The interior design is beautiful and adds so much to the experience. I definitely recommend checking this place out. I'll certainly be back to try more of the menu!

The vibe inside is so cool, chill hip hop music playing throughout and I genuinely added about five songs to my music library before we even finished eating. That kind of atmosphere is hard to find. The food was incredible. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders with waffles and everything about it was perfect. The tenders were crispy and glazed beautifully in buffalo sauce. The waffle was not your average waffle, it had this wheat cinnamon style to it that made it stand out, soft, fluffy and absolutely delicious. It came with butter and what I believe was an herb butter as well and whatever it was it was incredible. My fiancé ordered eggs Andy style, scrambled with bacon and toast, and the real standout on his plate were the potatoes. Crushed style, perfectly seasoned with what tasted like brown sugar and paprika. We are still talking about those potatoes. Service was amazing and the whole experience just felt effortless and fun. If you are in the Lower East Side and looking for an incredible brunch spot with amazing food and even better vibes, Sweet Chick is the one. Do not sleep on this place.

We got the Miso Carbonara Tagliatelle and the Lamb Ragu Orecchiette. Miso carbonara was rich and scrumptious, umami bomb. I'm normally a cream sauce girlie over red, but the lamb ragu stole the show. Super tender chunks of lamb and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Incredible pastas! The mains were okay, pork chop was a bit too salty and the fried catfish was really underwhelming. The space and volume seemed to overwhelm the staff at times. Service was friendly and welcoming but also frazzled and disorganized. We never received our appetizer until we reminded them, and our drinks (sweet tea and lemonade) also had to be requested again after a very long wait. To their credit, they did pack up the crab cake appetizer to go and removed it from the bill, which we appreciated. The fried chicken, mac and cheese, and yams were all served on top of each other. If you dont like for your food to touch, this place will be a nightmare for you. I ordered fried catfish, collard greens and potato salad. The fried catfish was served swimming in collard green juice (there's a picture of it). It was also surprising that you only get one piece of catfish, which felt underwhelming for the price, especially since it was soggy. The potato salad was served in a small separate bowl, which is typical in many Southern restaurants for ALL side dishes. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The yams were dry and not very sweet despite the menu description. The collard greens were on the sweeter side, which may work for some but wasn't my preference. The potato salad the only thing that was solid. Overall, it felt overpriced for the portion sizes and execution. The bartender seemed very skilled, and the drinks we saw being made looked great, though we didn't order any. After the long wait and missing appetizer, we skipped dessert and went elsewhere. The bathroom also needed attention and was not well maintained AT ALL! Ew The restaurant is very loud which didn't bother me at all but an FYI. It is also handicapped accessible and kid friendly. I really wanted to love the experience, but it fell below expectations in terms of service, cleanliness, and value. I might give them another try but no time soon.
