All the dishes are small so they suggest ordering 2-3 dishes per person. - Mushroom bibimbap: very soy sauce heavy. Easily one of my favorite dining experiences of my life. I went here with my wife seeking a quality date night on a budget. We made our reservation a few days out -- be sure to do this! This spot fills up quickly, and for good reason! We were greeted by a very friendly server and were given complimentary shots of soju. It was superb! We went ahead and ordered an assortment of items (they recommend two or three per person, which I think is perfect). The dishes range from $10 to $20 or so, and we ordered both desserts. We were in town and meeting up with some friends and catching up, and I don't know which video it was on YouTube(i think Topjaw maybe?) but they were highlighting the food and I made a note to get some reservations. They do only allow a 2 hour time limit for a party of 4. My friend was running 20 mins late so the servers kept reminding us of the time limit. Luckily we were done dining by that time, so not sure what the outcome would have been if we had overstayed by even a couple of minutes. Never had a restaurant do this many reminders about a dining time limit. Kind of the only bummer otherwise would have been a perfect 5 from me. But man the mushroom bibimbap? I could have eaten 2 bowls by myself. The potato nuggets were very delicious too. Not the best for me was the popcorn chicken- it felt way oversauced. Throughout the meal, the staff was very attentive and refilled our water and cleared empty dishes very quickly. I was very happy with the service for the most part. At the end of the meal, we had half of a rib left on a plate and someone came over to ask if they could take away the dish. I asked if we could have a few more minutes to just finish the rib on the plate. The guy was a bit unfriendly and said we couldn't finish the rib because they need the table for the next reservation. He ended up taking the rib away, and I was quite shocked that he didn't let me finish the rib. This was a very odd experience and something that has never happened to me before in a restaurant. It would have taken me under a minute to finish what was on the plate, but he didn't allow it. For this experience alone, I wouldn't return to this place. Been on my list forever, and finally got to go. C as in Charlie is delivering a Southern-Korean mix vibe to their menu which I highly appreciate the effort for fusion and uniqueness. It's a great casual place to have dinner before going out - the food was all pretty solid, and I can see why they earned their Michelin Bib status, and while I wasn't -extremely- impressed with anything, I would say that overall it was a solid meal. The namesake dessert that looks like a bagel with cream cheese is certainly fun, but the flavors didn't quite marry together into something greater than the sum of its parts, and feel that the textural experience was a little too heterogenous rather than complementary - the airy but not crisp wafer bagel and the dense interior. I liked the spin on salisbury steak and the egg rolls (meaty) the most. Still recommend you try it out, since it's one of the few places bringing together two cultures you don't normally see brought together, and that in and of itself is something to honor, as in that way, it represents the best of NYC. read more

My mom and I went on a Sunday late afternoon and it was busy, we were lucky to have been seated with one table available for us. Highly recommended making reservations in advance, especially if you plan on going on a weekend night. The ambiance transported me a bit out of NYC and into a space I am excited to explore more of. They had a 5:30pm reservation left, so I made it and we planned for early drinks, early dinner, and more drinks after. For the 2 of us, we split: - Potato nuggets - Hamachi crudo - Ox bone pasta - some kind of seafood boil Everything was really good. The pasta was very well flavored and you can just taste the umami from the ox bone. The crudo was also very refreshing. Add on a poached egg with a runny egg yolk, garlic-y rice, and a handful of pickled onions - you got the perfect bite! The oxbone pasta was a close second because of its tasty sauce that reminded me of a beef broth, but had extra garlic and butter in it. The crunchy bacon added another savory layer on top of the al dente pasta. The steak was well seasoned and tender while the grits was nostalgic for me, but didn't stand out. The popcorn chicken was solid with its gochujang like sauce but not every piece was that tender. The toast roll had a nice shrimpy crunch and served as a great appetizer with its tangy mayo sauce. Their super friendly hostess accommodated our party of two in their outdoor sidewalk dining area in the middle of a downpour. Who cares if you're soaking wet when you have unctuous food in your mouth! Loved their refreshing pea salad as well as their take on a Salsbury streak resting on the creamiest most buttery of grits. The crab drop soup is one of the best things I have ever had in my whole life, me and my boyfriend could not stop talking about it (even now!) the Salisbury steak was so juicy, tartar was just melt in your mouth, the ribs were super tender, the popcorn chicken was delicious, and the grape salad was so refreshing! This place is a gem. It's a small space, so it's a bit hard to get a table, but it is worth it. So I would definitely make sure to plan in advance and get a reservation if you want to dine here. And because it's so busy, they definitely rush you out, but other than that, service was great. Food was literally amazing. I like that they're all small plates so that you can try many things bc there were so many things that I wanted to try. Had the chicken, potatoes, mushroom fried rice, tomato hot pocket, shrimp roll toast and the bagel ice cream. Holistically, everything was delicious, but I wouldn't need to order the fried rice and hot pocket again. Everything else, would definitely order again. Fun spot for sharing a bunch of dishes and trying new food items! My favorite was the popcorn chicken. The service was good and the ambiance is fun! Definitely try the bagel dessert, it's a fun concept on an ice cream sandwich! read more
