The Green Pea Salad and Baby Back Ribs were standout dishes. The Tofu Ricotta Spread was underseasoned for my taste, while the Seoul'sbury Steak and Corn Mac & Cheese were good but not especially memorable. The Mushroom Bibimbap was salty/ deep soy-forward flavors. The waiter mentioned that portions are small and recommended ordering 2-3 dishes per person. To be honest, this was the dish that I was least excited about because I thought to myself, it's just mushrooms. But I was so pleasantly surprised and so blown away. The flavors are delicious and I would certainly come back for this dish again. **FOOD HACK - order the corn-y salad and make lettuce boats w the corn and mushroom bibimbap. Flavors goes crazy!!!!!!*** Second favorite had to be the snow crudo. Such a unique way to present scallops! They had pieces of thinly sliced radish and it was such a pleasant texture and flavor contrast paired w the scallops The toast roll, you can't go wrong with it. Who doesn't like fried items? I appreciate the shell, because it's not a spring roll wrapper or a wonton wrapper. I was wondering what it was made of... but regardless, still delicious Oxbone cream pasta was my least favorite. C as in Charlie has a lot of fun little touches. They give you a complimentary shot of sake when you sit down and dum dum pops on your way out. The food is really well done, though it runs a bit heavy. My favorite was the oxbone cream pasta, a twist on Korean ox bone soup and one of the more interesting dishes I've had recently. The B as in banana dessert is interactive where you decorate it yourself, which was a nice surprise. Service was amazing and attentive the whole time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom also has a Vsauce video projected on the wall which was funny.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would come back if I'm in the area.

I'm always looking for a cozy Asian-American joint with elevated, inventive food that looks like it could be my living room if I was cooler and had better taste in interiors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]C as in Charlie delivers in an intimate venue and the nicest staff who help deliver some of the best food I've had in NYC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love popcorn chicken but it can't be too sweet or too saucy or too spicy, or whatever. C as in Charlie's chicken is perfect -- platonic ideals of boneless nuggets coated in sauce. Excellently done. Everything else we had was equally incredible, including the complimentary sake shot that we received. We also had a house makgeolli that was delicious and quite strong (danger!!) Definitely get the Deli Bagel, no spoilers but it is a show-stopper and must-have. Will come again if we get lucky enough to snag another reservation!

They have a way of making you feel right at home every time you walk in. The popcorn chicken is my personal favorite and an absolute must-order on every visit. I'm a regular here, and it easily ranks in my top five recommendations for anyone visiting NYC. We ordered the toast roll, popcorn chicken, seoul'sbury steak, oxbow cream pasta, and mushroom bibimbap. The popcorn chicken had a very cute presentation, but the chicken wasn't super crispy so would probably pass on this next time. The oxytone cream pasta, mushroom bibimbap, and toast roll were probably my favorite dishes! I was running a bit late to my reservation, and the staff were super accommodating. Outside seating along the street is also available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter had come once before and declared it one of her favorite meals since moving to NYC! Naturally, we came here for our first dinner in the big apple. Our dining experience hit all the marks. Terrific service provided. They greet you warmly and offer a welcome shot of sake. Food is shared family style tapas. Don't let the small plates fool you - you'll eat to your hearts content and then some. Our group of 4 ordered: beet hummus, popcorn chicken, mushroom bibimbap, potato nuggets, toast roll, imbibe cream pasta, green tomato hot pocket and seoul'sbury steak. Then B as in banana for dessert. The dishes came out quickly in steady succession soon after we ordered. All were flavorful, well prepared with great presentation. My favorites were the toast roll, oxbone pasta, potato nuggets, and popcorn chicken. The bibimbap was also a big hit. Wonderful meal and experience!
We were in town and meeting up with some friends and catching up, and I don't know which video it was on YouTube(i think Topjaw maybe?) but they were highlighting the food and I made a note to get some reservations. They do only allow a 2 hour time limit for a party of 4. My friend was running 20 mins late so the servers kept reminding us of the time limit. Luckily we were done dining by that time, so not sure what the outcome would have been if we had overstayed by even a couple of minutes. Never had a restaurant do this many reminders about a dining time limit. Kind of the only bummer otherwise would have been a perfect 5 from me. But man the mushroom bibimbap? I could have eaten 2 bowls by myself. The potato nuggets were very delicious too. Not the best for me was the popcorn chicken- it felt way oversauced. And the green tomato hot pocket.. mostly just tasted of the cheese. Food portion sizes were honestly great for sharing between our 4 person group. But I'd still recommend this place. It was clearly very busy and buzzworthy and I guess that's why they are so cognizant of their dining limit enforcement.
Food: Every dish was generally enjoyable, but I didn't think it was anything too impressive or special. Portions are very small and meant to be shared. They recommend you order 2 to 3 dishes per person. We tried the fluke ceviche, ox cream pasta, toast roll, mushroom bibimbap, and the spare ribs. My favorite out of the dishes was the mushroom bibimbap which was full of mushroom and garlic flavor. The ribs were very dry so I wouldn't recommend ordering that. This place seems very overhyped, and I'm not sure why it's so popular. Service: Service was phenomenal until the end of our meal. Throughout the meal, the staff was very attentive and refilled our water and cleared empty dishes very quickly. I was very happy with the service for the most part. At the end of the meal, we had half of a rib left on a plate and someone came over to ask if they could take away the dish. I asked if we could have a few more minutes to just finish the rib on the plate. The guy was a bit unfriendly and said we couldn't finish the rib because they need the table for the next reservation. He ended up taking the rib away, and I was quite shocked that he didn't let me finish the rib. This was a very odd experience and something that has never happened to me before in a restaurant. It would have taken me under a minute to finish what was on the plate, but he didn't allow it. For this experience alone, I wouldn't return to this place. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant inside is small, but they have a lot of outdoor seating set up. Coming here with a large group might be difficult because of the small space tables are placed very close together and space is very tight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and won't be returning.

Easily one of my favorite dining experiences of my life. I went here with my wife seeking a quality date night on a budget. We made our reservation a few days out -- be sure to do this! This spot fills up quickly, and for good reason! We were greeted by a very friendly server and were given complimentary shots of soju. It was superb! We went ahead and ordered an assortment of items (they recommend two or three per person, which I think is perfect). The dishes range from $10 to $20 or so, and we ordered both desserts. A few pics attached to this review. A few notes: 1) get the deli bagel. Just do it. I promise, it's worth your time! 2) I highly recommend the potato nuggets, popcorn chicken, and hot pocket; 3) sweet tea is a win if you're a sweet tea person; 4) go to the bathroom at some point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A note on ambiance: be prepared for a decently small dining room with very dim lighting. Vibes were phenomenal though. Nice physical location. Intriguing fusion options. I will acknowledge that I don't think I'm this kitchen's target audience though--doesn't pack the bold and exciting flavors I look for, especially in fusion cuisine. Nonetheless, all the meat is cooked well. Tender bites. Extremely kind workers too. Everyone I interacted with was very hospitable and personable. In retrospect, I'd ask for a chili oil/spicy condiment for everything. read more
I went with a group of 4 and we ordered everything off of the menu. This place is a tapas style with korean food, so it's a bit of a twist, especially for my fellow Korean folks who are used to larger portions. Everything was so delicious and service was amazing! The waiters kept hooking us up with free drinks and they were all so amazing. The food was already great, but the service was probably one of the best I've experienced. Pro tip: bring your Korean friends here--they'll hook you guys up! One of my favorite plates were the ceviche and the chicken! I highly recommend it!! read more

Been on my list forever, and finally got to go. C as in Charlie is delivering a Southern-Korean mix vibe to their menu which I highly appreciate the effort for fusion and uniqueness. It's a great casual place to have dinner before going out - the food was all pretty solid, and I can see why they earned their Michelin Bib status, and while I wasn't -extremely- impressed with anything, I would say that overall it was a solid meal. The namesake dessert that looks like a bagel with cream cheese is certainly fun, but the flavors didn't quite marry together into something greater than the sum of its parts, and feel that the textural experience was a little too heterogenous rather than complementary - the airy but not crisp wafer bagel and the dense interior. I liked the spin on salisbury steak and the egg rolls (meaty) the most. Still recommend you try it out, since it's one of the few places bringing together two cultures you don't normally see brought together, and that in and of itself is something to honor, as in that way, it represents the best of NYC. read more

We came here on the 4th of July for dinner with friends. The place is arguably small with a casual vibe. Once we're seated, our server came to us, introduced herself, and offered us a shot of Soju on the house. That's what I called a good start. The concept was Korean tapas to share, and our server was nice enough to walk us through what works best for our group. They only offered natural wines (that may not be favorable for some, taste-wise). Since we were in a celebratory mood, we went for a natural sparkling Rosé. We then ordered the following dishes to share: 1. Fluke Ceviche 2. Popcorn chicken 3. Toast roll 4. Seoul'sbury streak 5. Tomato salad 6. Oxbone cream pasta 7. Mushroom bibimbap 8. Baby back ribs Our group enjoyed all the dishes. The flavors were elevated and made you want some more. We also left the restaurant fully satisfied. We had a lovely dinner here. Our server was truly helpful and friendly. This place is truly worthy of its Michelin recognition! read more
This place is perfectly hyped- it is no wonder that they have been able to have steady high traffic for years. My mom and I went on a Sunday late afternoon and it was busy, we were lucky to have been seated with one table available for us. Highly recommended making reservations in advance, especially if you plan on going on a weekend night. The ambiance transported me a bit out of NYC and into a space I am excited to explore more of. Don't get me started on the bathroom- it's a vibe. The dishes we got blew my mind- especially the salisbury steak and grits. I don't even like salisbury steak and it was one of the first dishes to have been wiped clean off the plate. The service was top notch, I most definitely will be coming back. read more
there is something to be said about dishes that have Michelin bib level complexity while also maintaining options for all tastebud levels - for instance the gojuchung popcorn chicken. crispy little bites of slightly sweet, slightly spicey chicken in a cute movie theatre popcorn bag. who wouldn't eat that? - then a complex scallop crudo with cheese and horseradish that had you chewing slow and thinking...then going back for more - another complicated and special dish is the crab drop soup. imagine you dropped the consistency of clam chowder to milk levels and make the chunks silken tofu soaked in crab flavor. and then make it look like a cappuccino?!?! - the "seoulsbury steak" despite sounding complicated, was basically a buttery burger sitting in the smoothest drenched plate of grits. - the okra dish was divisive as it deceivingly packed in spice but the mushroom bipbimbap united the forces with various types of mushroom pairing perfectly with a runny egg on a bed of sauce soaked soft rice - we got free shots galore!! loved the fun and kind service. only complaint is the creative bagel imitation dessert needed a mochi like or soft "bread" part instead of the wafer like "bread" that allowed for the chunk of cream cheese gelato to be the only flavor read more

Definitely hit the spot with their Korean fusion tapas!! The mushroom bibimbap was my favorite dish because of well seasoned mushrooms. Add on a poached egg with a runny egg yolk, garlic-y rice, and a handful of pickled onions - you got the perfect bite! The oxbone pasta was a close second because of its tasty sauce that reminded me of a beef broth, but had extra garlic and butter in it. The crunchy bacon added another savory layer on top of the al dente pasta. The steak was well seasoned and tender while the grits was nostalgic for me, but didn't stand out. The popcorn chicken was solid with its gochujang like sauce but not every piece was that tender. The toast roll had a nice shrimpy crunch and served as a great appetizer with its tangy mayo sauce. Personally my favorite was the popcorn chicken and the mushroom bibimbap! They also do have a relatively small menu and there were 2 desserts. I got the b as in banana and it was very cute cause you get to make your own drawing on top of it. They also sell jay parks soju!! As a Korean meets southern comfort food, the tapas style servings were an invitation to try EVERYTHING! Service and speed made the visit even more special but honestly. It was all about the FOOD. While every plate was a taste bud adventure the ribs and the Seoul'sbury steak was out of this world. You won't go wrong ordering anything. My expectations based on reviews didn't align with what we ate The good news is that dishes came out fast and the ambiance was very cute. The biggest disappointment was the crab drop soup. Had an amazing time here! This is was my first time visiting and the service was great, the waiters were so nice + even gave us a free dish and shots for our anniversary. The food was delicious. The salmon hwe was light and refreshing. The steak and grits were plate licking good. Shrimp toast was an interesting twist and accompanied with a spicy mayo. The mushroom bibimbap was to die for!! Our favorite dish of the night. The pasta was right up my alley - the flavors paired so well together. The ribs were the only dish we would pass up on, it wasn't anything special but still tasty. Hands down one of the coolest restaurants I have ever been to. I was so in love with the decor, the lighting, I just loved how the entire space was arranged! The bathroom was also so cool. I just loved every single Knick knack they had in that restaurant! The servers all looked so cool too, SERVICE WAS GREAT BUT I JUST NEED TO HIGHLIGHT THAT EVERYONE WHO WORKS THERE HAS S TIER SENSE OF STYLE. This place is a gem. It's a small space, so it's a bit hard to get a table, but it is worth it. So I would definitely make sure to plan in advance and get a reservation if you want to dine here. And because it's so busy, they definitely rush you out, but other than that, service was great. Food was literally amazing. I like that they're all small plates so that you can try many things bc there were so many things that I wanted to try. Had the chicken, potatoes, mushroom fried rice, tomato hot pocket, shrimp roll toast and the bagel ice cream. Holistically, everything was delicious, but I wouldn't need to order the fried rice and hot pocket again. Everything else, would definitely order again. I love the vibe and ambiance of this place! Great for a small group of people. The service was also impeccable and everyone was very attentive to your experience. All the servers had great recommendations for the food and drinks. I enjoyed the sake options that they had! Overall the food was also great although some dishes were underwhelming. I was surprised by how refreshing the salmon hwe was and the sauce was like nothing I've ever tasted. I also enjoyed the potato nuggets with the truffle sauce The popcorn chicken was good but just tasted like good Korean friend yangnyum chicken which I have frequently. Unfortunately the oxbone cream pasta was also not that special and just tasted like regular cream pasta but cooked well! The steak was great but the highlight was the grits. So unique! I love a unique dining experience and this was that indeed. We had the popcorn chicken, steak, ceviche, potato nuggets and dip and finished with the bagel dessert. Each dish was so unique and delicious. Nothing was other worldly but the uniqueness of each dish made them all stand outs.
