We always buy a beef tenderloin for our Christmas dinner here and it's always the best. This year we decided to buy their ribs for the Fourth of July and they were the best ever as well. OMG can you say fresh quality protein!!! Hands down this meat market has the highest quality meats around with a wide variety of meats to choose from. I traveled from Mokena to New Lenox and it was well worth the gas and time. I purchased ribs, pork chops, Italian sausage and hamburgers for a barbecue and everything was high quality. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. It was a Saturday afternoon the place was crowded but they had a system and they were processing order like a well oiled machine. I'm going back to try their roast and rib-eye steaks. No more of the local chain stores for me. read more

Rude, Rude, Rude. I asked what would be a good size cut for my ribeye and I was told-"honey, I am not eating the food." I gave them a few more chances and same thing terrible customer service. They never have boneless chicken breasts available and the quality of their meet is nothing special. The store also starts cleaning up and packing up food and hour before they close. I was placing an order as the guy is sudsing up the case and most of the meat is on the racks covered. The store is so small you can't even move in there especially if there is a line. I drive out of my way to Prime in Palos now. You are greeted kindly and they also have top quality meat. read more

Been shopping there for several years. Polish sausage was great at one time. Bought two pounds yesterday and it is as skinny as a regular hot dog, it is very bland. This is the third time I tried it. After the second time I called and asked if they changed their recipe. The clerk was not receptive and said the sausage is the same. During the summer we purchased bone in rib eye steaks, Extremely fatty and little taste. The only meat we will buy there is the ground chuck, that is still very good. read more

Time to update my review. The high quality of people and products comes shining through. Just made a special order and can't compliment them enough. Needed 2 cases of skinless, boneless chicken breasts. (They come frozen from the deep freeze) They were in stock and available immediately. I brought in my cooler and they loaded me up, even offering to bring it to my car. This old fashioned service is rare and appreciated. I did take it to the car myself, then drove it 1200 miles to Florida. Needless to say, my daughter and her family moved away but still crave their CP Meat Market products. Great local discovery for high quality meats. I ordered two pork bone-in rib roasts for a dinner party after CP was recommended by a friend. I called them on Thursday to pick them up on Saturday. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and friendly as were the people in the store when I went in. The roasts were outstanding! I must admit, I frequent the area butchers in search of the best meat I can get my hands on. I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes down to cylindrical meats, an area I've found that CP meat market NEVER disappoints. First off, the girth their cylindrical meats offer is second to none, you can hardly fit your mouth around their polish sausage, and the bratwurst have a nice radius too. Second, I just cant stop praising the taste of the meat, it's just simply MOUTH WATERING, after one mouthful I just can't stop going in for more. Sometimes I find myself just sucking on it, and enjoying the flavor, rather than swallowing. Third, let me tell you about the VALUE of the meat you get. It's fresh (Not musty like meat I've gotten from other butchers), never frozen, just fresh, juicy meat with good girth and fantastic taste. I spent good $$ on new york strip steaks and they were terrible. They were tough, tasteless, and flat out the worst steak ever. It was like eating leather. I bought 9 I tried fixing them different ways it did not matter they were all tough. I also bought cubed steaked it was so thin you could read a newspaper through it. As a customer since 2001, obviously I'm content with CP market. Well, I used to be thrilled with CP, but as my skills and culinary adventures have evolved, I'm just content with them. First off, let me praise their meats they carry. Always the freshest, never been disappointed. Their Polish sausage is excellent, very garlic-y. Secondly, the staff at CP Market are outstanding. Always fast, yet will take time to answer questions, and they are quite knowledgeable. And they always get me a great pork butt to smoke. Now comes my "cons". I went to CP within the last year and asked for a Tri-tip. Don't carry it. Then, I wanted to do a Flat Iron Steak I've heard so much about. Negative. When I went there for Flank Steak, it was pre-wrapped in paper in a stand up glass freezer. Couldn't tell what the weight, or price was. Ended up being a little too pricey, but I bought it, and it was good. When I asked for calf's liver, I was told they could it order it, but I'd have to buy the whole sha-bang. That was fine with me. Call me what you will, but I am disappointed that a local butcher couldn't provide me with popular cuts, several times now. I understand CP not carrying the cuts if they don't sell well around here, but I anticipated that even if they didn't have them, they would get them for me. Don't get me wrong, though. I am still a happy customer, and the feel of the store brings me back to my youth in Chicago. As far as others have moaned about their prices, uh yeah, CP is more expensive. But when they close shop due to people only buying meat at WallyWorld, then what are you going to do? Support your local businesses people. They're your neighbors too. read more

Had the opportunity to order a 9lb+ prime rib roast this past Christmas from here. The shop opens at 9, and you need to be prepared to wait around the holidays. The line moves quickly, and the men (and women) do a great job at processing your order and getting you in and out as quickly as possible. There's a little store to buy some dry ingredients, but you're going there for their great cuts of meat and their deli. Those are the definite winners. Their prices were fair, and the cuts were prime. I'll definitely go back for my meat needs. read more

Never again will they receive my business! I had specifically asked a few days prior for two 3 lb trimmed pieces beef tenderloin, and got a 1 poorly trimmed whole tenderloin. What's the sense in making a specific order at a specialty butcher shop, I might add, when you don't receive the original order. I could have done better myself!! Nice little local butcher shop, reminds me of the grocery store that I grew up with down the street named Komos. They have high quality meats and if you buy stuff that is on sale, I've found that you can get things at very reasonable prices. They also have a good selection of frozen foods, including some amazing mushroom pirogi. Came for Perogies and wound up picking up a meatloaf as well. Cooked the meatloaf per instructions and I was blown away at how delicious it was. The meatloaf may look basic but was out of sight. Great local meat market. There isn't a place in the area that can come close to the quality of meat sold from CP. This is the second time I've ordered for New Year's Eve. I can't believe that I left here with only moderately more than I had wanted. I came for some andouille sausage, which was amazing, and left with a couple steaks. But I also wanted everything else. It was sooooooooooo good. Everything looked awesome and the smell of the place made me hungry. The steaks were fantastic and I can't wait to go back and get more meat. Great family run business. All of the the meats are high quality. What ever you choose ask one of the guy's any question on how to prepare it. They will gladly advise you on cooking instructions. They stock a bevy of precooked foods and to go dinners. Great when needing a fast dinner and not in the cooking mood. The ribs are to die for and the homemade sausages are epic. Heck you walk through the door and the smell is unbelievably good. Pizza kits are my kids favorite to have at sleepovers. Here is a local tip SIAM. If you grew up in New Lenox or have a child that goes to one of the high schools get the SIAM card. CP has always been a wonderful friend to the arts and you get a discount with this card.
