Their flavor combinations are unique, everything is always fresh, and the quality is consistently outstanding. These are easily the best pastries I've ever had. Their French macarons deserve a special mention. I've never really been a fan because, in my experience, most places don't get the texture right. But this place completely changed my mind. Every flavor I've tried has been amazing. The shells have the perfect texture, and the fillings are packed with flavor. I even traveled throughout Europe recently and made it a point to try macarons everywhere I went, just to see how they compared. Surprisingly, not a single place came close. They also do a great job of keeping things fresh by regularly adding new pastries and seasonal items to the menu, so it's worth checking their website before you visit to see what's new. I recently saw them featured on the Food Network, and after eating here so many times, it's easy to see why. They truly know what they're doing. I can't recommend this bakery enough. Whether you're stopping in for pastries or macarons, you really can't go wrong.

Not only do they look stunning, but they taste just as good. Every pastry had a light, balanced sweetness and layers of flavor that made each bite worth savoring. The textures were also spot on, from the delicate mousse to the crisp outer shells. If you're looking for a unique dessert experience or want to impress someone with pastries that are almost too pretty to eat, Artelice is definitely worth a visit.

I stopped by Sunday around 1 to pick up some pastries on my way to a friend's house. It's located in a plaza with a small parking lot. First thing you notice when you step in is that they have a lot of cakes on display. There's no seating either, it's strictly a grab and go place. Both times I came, someone was picking up a cake ahead of me, so that's definitely what to get here. I asked the cashier, and she said that you can either call or came in person to place a cake order. You can also come by and pick up one of their ready made cakes. Will keep this place in mind for the future. I picked up a number of pastries and tried some of them at my friend's place. Here's what I tried: Slice of vanilla roll cake ($2) - very moist but not much cream Almond croissant ($3.50) - loved the almond filling Sponge cake ($2.75) - delicious! Almond cookie ($0.35 each) - tastes exactly like the almond cookies I ate growing up Cream puff ($2) - this was the only thing I didn't like. The puff layers on both the top and bottom were dry Next time I need a cake, I know where to get it!

But last night I got the cake for my son's birthday, and I got him a 8" très Leche cake; it had slivered almonds on the side, all around and a layer of strawberries inside for $52 All the guests love that, including my son that enjoyed his birthday cake! Honestly, if I can give six stars to that Bakery I would! It is located in Van Nuys off Sherman Way, one block West of Sepulveda! A true treasure of Bakery

Paris Baguette Bakery & Restaurant is absolutely phenomenal! Entering this place feels exactly like…read morestepping into a cozy European café. They make daily, from-scratch pastries in small batches, ranging from mochi donuts, butter croissants, and custard-filled donuts to fresh baguette sandwiches, salads, and tons of drink selections like fresh juices, mineral waters, and lattes. The service is super friendly and incredibly fast. The system is so fun and easy: you just walk in, grab a tray and a pair of tongs, handpick your desired pastries, and head to the front. You can eat there or take them to go in a box. If you order a sandwich, they can heat it up on-site for you so you get a cheesy, warm, toasty meal. For this visit, we tried: World Cup Special Donut: A custard-filled donut topped with chocolate and shaped like a soccer ball in honor of the World Cup going on right now. The egg custard filling was so addictive and creamy--absolutely amazing! Almond Croissant: Stuffed with almond paste, covered in buttery, toasted almond slices, and dusted with powdered sugar. The flavor was fantastic! The inside could have been just a tiny bit more moist, and I always wish for more of that delicious almond filling, but it was still extremely flavorful. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Sitting outside is especially nice since you're facing busy Ventura Boulevard, making it a perfect spot to shade-sit and people-watch. Plus, it's located in a great shopping plaza, so there's plenty of parking. My only critique is that it is definitely a little overpriced, making it more of a "once-in-a-while" treat rather than a daily habit. Still, it's a truly fantastic spot if you want high-quality, fresh-baked bread and pastries~~~
