First of all, everyone who works here is very attractive. Wondering if that is a requirement (kind of kidding). The restaurant itself has great ambiance. Very cute, nothing fancy though, If that's what you're looking for. One of us got the heirloom tomato salad as a meal, that was our mistake as it is probably meant to be an appetizer. As an appetizer it would have probably been fine, but as a meal, probably 3.5 out of 5. Just to note: pine nuts are on it but not mentioned on the menu. Probably only relevant for people with an allergy. The salad was pretty acidic, and small for a meal. But again, as an appetizer, probably fine. The spicy watermelon margarita was great. Had the chicken tacos which come with rice. The rice was nothing special at all, but the tacos were a 4.5/5. I did ask for hot sauce to give it a little more excitement but it was busy, so I never got any. Our waiter was Ethan and he was nice and helpful with what to order. I'd go back. There is also parking in the back of the restaurant which is important in Newp

Great spot! The patio area and outdoor tiki bar is awesome. The food was excellent. We tried the jerk chicken skewers, chopped salad with a tuna steak, and the fried chicken sandwich- everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Super fresh, super high quality. They serve their tiki cocktails in fun glassware. Lastly, the service was perfect: friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Probably the best service we've had in NPT in a while. We'll be back!

Stopped by one day for dinner, but just decided to just get apps. I heard the menu had a Caribbean twist- but it all seemed pretty standard for the Newport area. Mojito and calami were good- nothing special though.

Excellent food and service. I think Cabana is an improvement over the previous Salvation Cafe. The interior renovations and updated menu are nicer, more classic. We tried cocktails, oysters, calamari, swordfish, steak frites , and two desserts. All were nicely prepare, delicious, and good value. Highly recommend trying Cabana, even if you weren't a fan of Salvation.

Cabana's signature drink. Key lime cocktail. Not usually my type of drink but doing a good tour and glad I was served this awesome drink.

First time here on a food tour. Signature cocktail and app was awesome. Fun Island vibe, lots of Kenny Cheaney Blue Chair Bay drinks. Fun place

Great ambiance, drinks, and service! The outdoor tiki bar is the perfect place to get a drink on a nice day.

Its a block island staple for sure…read more Located right off the ferry landing you cant miss it. I only ate at the restaurant and didnt use any of the other facilities so will only comment on the restaurant portion. Its got pretty standard beach eats. Menu is pretty extensive. I ended up ordering the lobster roll. It was just okay. The bread just didnt do it for me. Many people in my group commented that the food was a bit salty. Service was great though. My main gripe was the weak drinks. You feel like you are somewhere in the Caribbean when you are on this resort but the weak slushy drinks were the buzz kill. Oh wait a minute. No buzz kill to be had because I never got buzzed to begin with. Probably best to stick with drinks thst you know have an exact amount of alcohol. Have a good time everybody.

You can't beat the lively music, crazy waves, and stunning views. Sadly, if you're not staying overnight on the island, then you probably would not know that they offer an amazing dinner nightly from 7 to 10 PM that is worth way more than they're charging. I ordered the filet special for $19 which included filet mignon, fingerling, potatoes, and asparagus. While the portion size didn't allow for leftovers, it was plenty to fill me up after a day of walking around and beaching it. When our server Diana came over to the table to take our order, I explained my allergies. She wrote everything down and personally spoke to the bartender and the chef who were both willing to accommodate my needs. I love a good dirty martini, but because of my allergy to red peppers, I often cannot have a dirty martini at restaurants because the olive juice has had olives with pimentos in them or the olives have been placed with cherries which I'm also allergic to. Diana went above and on by securing a jar of green olives that did not have pimentos and had the bartender make my drinks using that. Talk about exceptional service! When the food was brought out, Shawn, the manager, personally came over to see to it that I was all set. he conversed easily with my husband and me and had us smiling and laughing in no time. That's a rare gift! Ballards is very lucky to have him as a manager representing their establishment. If you're looking for something other than filet mignon, you'll be happy to know that they also offer a lobster special from 7 to 10 PM that is $20. We saw quite a few plates go by, and let me just tell you they were the biggest lobsters I've ever seen!!! My husband and I will be back for sure. He loved his gluten free Mac and cheese with lobster, and I loved my filet! The sunset dinner deals will have us and our friends coming back. This genius deal, stunning view, delicious food, and exceptional service have turned us into new customers!

We ate here for Valentine's Dinner while staying at the Pell. To be completely honest I was very…read moredisappointed with the experience. We had reservations and waited about 15 minutes to be seated though the host was very nice. They were going to sit us on a 6 top in the middle of the restaurant but moved us to a smaller quieter table as we didn't need such a large table. We ordered shortly after being seated. I ordered the prix fixe menu with came with salad/soup, an entree and a dessert. I also ordered off the kids menu. I ordered mocktails for my kids and a cocktail for myself that came out quickly. I'm a tequila lover so I got the naked and famous which I loved. After our drinks everything went downhill. We then waited almost an hour and a half for our food. I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to ask why the wait was so long. She never bothered to check in with us to let us know we would be waiting so long. I looked over and noticed that the 6 top who sat and ordered well after us had already received their food. When I called our server over to ask if she could at least bring out the soup or kids meal so that my kids wouldn't starve. She stated that she couldn't bring anything out until the kitchen brought everything out together. She said the kitchen was backed up and kind of shrugged me off. Again, I ordered a prix fixe so why would all the courses come out together? That makes zero sense. I pointed out that the family who ordered after us had already gotten their food. She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point we were already waiting for 1 hour at this point. Normally this behavior would have had me walking out but we were staying at the hotel, had already waited an hour and it was Valentine's Day so anywhere else would have been busy. A few minutes later she brought out some soup for my daughter, no apologies just matter of factly like she did me a favor by bringing out our soup. The table next to us asked her for some fries as they also had a child starving to them she apologized and replied not a problem I'll bring out some fries for you. When we did get our food we were disappointed with everything besides the kids pasta. The pasta was the only thing that tasted ok. The salmon was burnt and the sweet potato puree tasted old and really had no flavor. I missed the part of bacon bits in the green beans so that's on me but the bacon with the salmon did not go together at all. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor while the fries were okay. I asked for the dessert to go because I didn't want to wait for another hour. She first brought it out on a regular dish then took it to the kitchen and had it mushed in a Togo container not separating the bread from the cream. When I did finally take the dessert to my room I did not enjoy it at all either this was hard and I would not call it bread pudding. It was literally chunks of bread with cream spread on top. The hotel itself was fantastic but our experience at the restaurant was horrible. The front desk was apologetic and accommodating when we checked out however so we will definitely come back to stay at the hotel, but will most likely avoid the restaurant.

I like the bacon bits in the burger, which would have been less interesting without. Fries were pretty standard. Salmon was also good and the skin was my favorite but I don't think the salmon works well with the sweetness of the mash it comes with. Overall good but the only complaint is you don't get much for your money but this is a hotel restaurant. For context, that burger and fries pictures is 21$ by itself and for that price, they could have doubled up the patties. Lol. Salmon was 30$.
