First time in Clearwater Florida Tampa area. Stopped in because this place was the only place we knew that offered free parking. All other parking lots were all day parking for $50. We just want to eat not hang at the beach. So glad we found this place!! Ordered the Blackened grouper sandwich and the costal combo. Wow! So good!! Highly recommended. The dining area is cozy and the patio is covered with gas keeping you cool even in the hot Clearwater weather! The servers are all super attentive and there for any needs you may have! The Lobster Roll was filled to the brim with juicy, succulent, melt in your mouth lobster, the garlic mashed potatoes were so flavorful I thought my granger was in the kitchen cooking them! The cheesesteaks. The chicken was tender, hot and flavorful with a soft roll. The regular cheesesteak was to die for! Seasoned, perfectly seared steak, cheesy, tender, perfect ratio of onions to meat, I coursing ask for better. We came here in 4th of July and enjoyed the live band and front row seats to the fireworks. Direct access to the beach, easy parking and our server Jaden was fantastic! A long day and a long drive and wanted something close to the hotel so I didn't have to drive anymore! Cabanas was a very pleasant surprise! The service (Alexx) was amazing (10 of 10). Alexx had good suggestions, was attentive and made sure we got the food quickly. The blackened grouper sandwich was great (8.8)! The slaw was amazing (9.4) and the fries really good (8.9). I really enjoyed the local IPA (9.2) also. I probably won't eat here again this trip but will on another trip. read more

The vibes are so comfy and cutesy here. Shoutout to our server, AJ, he was absolutely amazing and so cheerful and funny. He saw my friend hungover and immediately grabbed him a water, bread and butter, AND a cup of olive juice. So awesome. On the other hand, their bloody mary's are a 3.5/5. Nothing special, but it still tasted great. Their Atlantic salmon (Cajun Style) dinner plus two sides (fries & mixed vegetables) was a 5/5. Coming from the Midwest, you can just tell this salmon was fresh, juicy, and delicious. Their lobster mac & cheese and side caesar salad was a 4/5-cured my friend's hangover. I have refrained from publicly exposing Dolphin Sands and their restaurant Coastal Grill for seventeen days in hopes that they would do the right thing. According to their partner, Priceline, they have chosen not to do the right thing so I have no choice but to continue to advocate for myself and ensure this does not happen to anyone else. I checked in on 5/19/26 for what was meant to be a four night stay at the Dolphin Sands. That evening, a couple of hours after checking in, I ate at the Coastal Grill that is within the hotel downstairs. I ate a crab cake dinner and became violently ill all night. Around 8:00AM on 5/20/26, I went to the front desk to speak with Mariah to let her know that I was sick and needed to leave. She told me that guests have been complaining for days about getting sick from seafood at their restaurant. Mariah said that a guest had to stay an extra day because they were too sick to travel. While we were talking, a woman and her son came up behind us and mentioned that her son was sick all night after eating at the same restaurant. Mariah said, "Maybe I should tell someone." I told her she needs to because kids should not be getting sick. After asking some further questions, I learned that she had not told the restaurant or a manager about the illnesses. I was very confused and scared about what had happened to me and what was happening to others. Mariah told me that she put notes in the system for her manager, and for Priceline, which is how I purchased the stay, for a refund due to a medical event. I told her that I would even be fine with paying for the one night that I was there. I felt like that was reasonable. The total was $1,008.68. I was told that the resort fee and the parking fee (separate charge) would be removed from my card and I would only pay for one night which is what happened. Mariah told me to contact Priceline when I got home to begin the refund process for the stay. I contacted Priceline as soon as I got home on 5/20/26 and I explained the situation and I was told that Priceline would take care of it and I felt that everything was going to work out so I just focused on getting better. Days went by without any communication from anyone. I followed up with Priceline on 5/22/26 and they told me that they can't get a hold of the hotel and they even sent me documentation of this. I've attached the screenshot. I contacted the hotel at 11:52AM on 5/22/26 and spoke with a man with an "M" name. I believe it was Michael or similar, but I cannot recall his name unfortunately. You will have record of this call. I was told by this man that the notes are still in the system and that the manager is aware and they are just waiting to hear from Priceline. He told me that he added more notes in the system before we hung up. He confirmed the refund is approved and they are just waiting on Priceline. I attempted to get a manager on the phone twice and was placed on hold. I never was able to speak to a manager and not one person from the hotel or restaurant attempted to contact me, check on me, get additional information, etc. Today 6/5/26, I called and spoke with Priceline and they are now telling me that the hotel is saying that they denied the refund and she couldn't explain why or any further details. It was very odd and I could tell the Priceline rep was surprised as well by what they were saying because what they told me and supposedly documented was the complete opposite. I let Priceline know that all of the interactions with this hotel and their staff was on video in the lobby. They have cameras everywhere. The calls should have been recorded as well so that is further proof. Priceline will be contacting them again and I have to wait another 3-5 days while they make that attempt to see what the result is. I have been patient and kind, probably more than I should have been. I got very sick because of this hotel and restaurant's negligence and then I was manipulated and lied to. Nobody deserves to be treated this way and I am not going away until you do the right thing. read more

This place was truly a 5/5 experience all around!! To start, we called to see if there was a wait time (there wasn't) so they put our party down (7 people). Pretty shocking since it is Memorial Day weekend and expecting every place to be packed, especially a place like this one that has higher ratings. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and service was great from beginning to end. Food wise- OMG so good! Our party ordered 6 meals; coconut shrimp, Cajun chicken, crab cakes, snow crab legs, grouper tacos, and chicken sandwich. Everything was DELICIOUS! Ambiance was beachy and fun. We had to park a bit far but didn't mind the walk to the restaurant. We'd 100% return again and recommend trying those plate--sooo good. read more

We went yesterday on Mother's Day right before the gender reveal of my baby which is a very special day. We called prior to see if there was a wait and we were instructed that there wasn't and that 'ALL DAY' they were offering complimentary mimosa for all moms. Truly, between that and no wait time, we were like 'heck yeah this is the place to go!' We show up, we get our bread and drinks started...we ask about complimentary mimosa which THEY had told us about previously and the server, AJ said 'no we don't have that.' Threw us for a loop but we didn't think much of it. We continued to order coconut shrimp which was great!! Once the food came out, my crab cake sandwich didn't have lettuce, onion, tomato like it was advertised. It was just a piece of bread and crab patty. I asked about it and he brought it over. Ok cool, thinking we're doing alright a bit annoyed but it is what it is....we overhear the other server congratulates the mom at his table and OFFERS her a complimentary mimosa. At this point, I'm pissed. Not only did my food not come out as advertised but now the server next door is offering what we asked about and were told no. After a few back a forths, AJ said manager would 'comp it just this time' and that rubbed me the wrong way -- why tell us over the phone about something that isn't true? In addition, the server who said about the complimentary mimosa said that he got in trouble. It was never our intention to get him in trouble but don't tell us one thing over the phone and something else in person? No sorry for misunderstanding, no apology from the manager, zero. Needless to say, my water never got refilled. (If you know anything about a pregnant woman is we drink.....a lot of water to keep hydrated). Lastly, our plates stayed piled up on the table WELL after we were done and trying to pay with a table that looked like this (photo provided). I purposefully piled them up so it would be easy to grab and go but they just stayed. I've been a server before and know how things are supposed to "flow" and that wasn't it. Cabanas Coastal Grill came up and we decided to give it a chance. CCG did not disappoint. Janeen greeted us with a smile and sat us. The ambience is exactly what you'd expect at a beachfront restaurant. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and main course meals. We had drinks in our hands 5 minutes later, appetizers followed a couple of minutes later, and our lunch right after. Our drinks were refreshing cold and delicious. Our food was hot and tasty. And Janeen gave us great service. Overall, our experience at Cabanas Coastal Grill was very satisfying. We now know a "go to" restaurant. We'll be back. read more
