SHOR is a must visit! Aside from the delicious food and amazing views I have to say that our server, Ben was phenomenal. He was incredibly attentive and patient with us. He anticipated our every need and went above and beyond in our expectations. There were no issues with the bill and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself if beautifully decorated. The sunset was stunning and the drinks were tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food and the steak (unfortunately not pictured) was the standout. We had breakfast here since this is our hotel. The food and service were okay and nothing special. They sat us down, gave us food and drinks and weren't overly friendly or accommodating. We ordered the egg benedicts and those were okay too and nothing too special. The best place is that it was at our hotel and really close to the beach so we had an ocean view breakfast. read more

What a nice way to start your day! We chose to be seated outside for breakfast. Warm gulf breezes and the morning sun, it's like I'm Wastin' away again in Margaritaville but the salt is provided by SHOR American Seafood Grill. There's really not too much to mess up with my order of Avocado Toast. Chop up an Avocado, add egg and add some Toast? It would have been nice to have some jelly but its my fault I didn't speak up. This experience at the restaurant for Christmas Day was truly delightful . We had an outside table overlooking the ocean with a magnificent view . The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and the food was magnificent. Such an array of breakfast and brunch type items were offered. They offered crab legs that were cooked to perfection . They had everything from eggs crab Benedict to tenderloin beef and lamb. They offered sushi, made to order omelettes and an array of pasta and vegetables There was even a nice sushi selection available. For the most part the food was tasty and well prepared . There was a variety of meats and cheeses and fruits and a wonderful dessert table was offered . The only drawback on this is that the beef tenderloin was dry and too well done and the lamb was a bit on the dry side as well . They offered extremely large shrimp for shrimp cocktail, biscuits and gravy and the usual breakfast meets, bacon and sausage The service was very good and we were overall pleased with everything offered to us for the day of Christmas I would consider going back again for their holiday buffet as long as the meat's not overcooked . read more

Have dined here several times over the past month due to two stay-cations we took to burn Hyatt award nights that were expiring. It's okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way, or maybe even at all if paying versus breakfast that Hyatt Globalist's get for free. Much of the seating is in areas where there is also outside seating, or just outside access, so there will be a constant stream of people and servers going to/from the outside area, through doors in all the rooms. This immediately kills any cool a/c air that had been building and you're back to warm and muggy. If you're sitting near the cooking area, it's even warmer. So don't come here if you were wanting to escape the beach for a bit, it will feel like you're right back out there. Service has been very hit or miss. I've been ignored completely for fifteen minutes at the bar before. I've had incredible breakfast service where then a shift change occurred and the old server didn't tell us he was leaving, and the new one didn't come by for 20+ minutes. Dinner service has been average. Food-wise, they do not have béarnaise sauce for steaks, so if you like filet with béarnaise, that isn't going to happen. The steaks are otherwise good but not special. The whipped feta app is great. I've had the short rib pasta, which tasted good, and then was up half the night... The breakfast food is fantastic, I particularly like the Crab Benedict. There's a Fried Egg BLT that is massive; two people could make that their breakfast easily. read more

I walked into the main entrance and stood for nearly a minute. The woman at the host stand did not look up from her cell phone to acknowledge my presence. I left after a minute. Plenty other places with better hospitality. Such a shame as I'm somewhat local exploring the area for new regular staycation spots. read more

Let me just say that the customer service here is UNMATCHED! SHOR if you're reading this Rob needs a raise & a big one! Not only was the food delicious and crave worthy (we all ordered the whole fried snapper) but Rob took our photos outside to capture the sunset over the beach. Our photos were gorgeous! Rob talked to us and told us his story of how he made Clearwater his home and discussed his love of meeting new and returning customers. All he desires is to see people happy and enjoying themselves while dining at SHOR. I love that! He's definitely a unique gem in the customer service world...SHOR please give Rob his flowers now! Shor has a convenient location to beach goers on the second floor of the Hyatt, the big pink hotel on the beach. The service is not the best, (somewhat slow regardless of the time of day), but the food at dinner is fantastic. We have dined here for dinner several times and decided to give breakfast a try this last visit to Clearwater. Breakfast is subpar compared to dinner, so stick to dinner here. The breakfast foods are not even Instagram worthy, so I've only posted one picture of breakfast. We ordered the special feature this time around, which is a whopping 24-ounce 1855 Angus ribeye. It is phenomenal and probably the best I've ever had. They were able to get a good sear on it that created a flavorful crust on the outside and, at the same time, able to cook it perfectly to medium, maintaining the juiciest inside. It sits on an au gratin potato cake with charred peppers and asparagus. Other remarkable dishes include the red snapper and the pork chop topped with crispy prosciutto and mozzarella. Ambiance is casual, and 3 hours of parking is free when you spend $50, which is easily done since the place is on the pricey side. There is a breakfast buffet for $25, but we opted to order from the menu, which wasn't the best choice cause the eggs were overcooked and the biscuits and gravy were flavorless. They do take reservations and have large tables to accommodate bigger groups of people. You can watch the chefs at work in the middle of the restaurant where the kitchen is open. That can count as dinner and a show if you get sat at a table in front of it! read more

We stopped in for dinner and loved all the sides: mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, pineapple fried rice. The ribeye was not the best cut of steak and we wouldn't order again. New York strip was tasty but a bit dry. Would definitely go back to try more if we visit the area again. read more

We purchased the "taste of the beach tickets" this was our favorite so far. The food was amazing and the staff were great. Calamari was so tender. The chicken leg was flavorful but a bit overcooked. The mushroom toast was a real treat. Our server was attentive and had a great attitude. Usually staff members don't like to serve coupon users for some reason. We had just arrived to the resort on a Wednesday night so decided to come in for a bite to eat. We ordered a Fried Avocado to start. It was delicious, but I don't think it's worth $17 which it was priced. It was avocados, some bacon bits and sauce. I had the Oyster Bacon Sandwich as my meal, my husband had a Black and Blue Burger and the baby had Mac and Cheese which came with a side of fries. The burger and sandwich was good! Very tasty. The baby's food was such a generous portion we had to take it to go. We had a nice table, great ambience and an efficient server too! Enjoyable welcome to Clearwater meal! Located on the gulf side of the Hyatt. First seat available at 8:25pm. It's over a 40 minute wait. It's an hour wait for carry out from the restaurant. You have to put in the order from the market. It cost $68.48 for 2 kale salads and a lobster club on GF bread, less bacon. 2 Bubly and 3 small bags of flamin hot Cheetos for $14.98 at the market counter across the hallway. The Caesar salad and fruit salad and items in the cooler looked a bit old and dated. The beet and kale is okay, not sure it's worth $15. The dressing is super thick, it looks like BBQ sauce. Tastes odd, quite strange, doesn't go well with this salad at all. The fries are bland and so-so. They are super dry and not worth eating. I know the fries are bad if my husband isn't chowing down on them. We were done eating the fries after a few bites of them. The lobster club had strips of bacon, luckily they were big strips and easy to remove. One side of the GF bread was burnt, how nice. They even made sure to place the burnt side of the bread down in the carry out container hoping I wouldn't notice...I ended up eating a lobster, tomato and lettuce as my meal, lose the GF burnt bread. They at least gave us a good amount of lobster meat to the sandwich. The menu items aren't bad, the execution needs some refinement yet. read more

Blending in and unpretentious, there are certain places that go with trends like open kitchens and apply contemporary West Elm design elements of spiky artwork. There is some of that at Shor without a doubt, yet it does have a gorgeous wooden ceiling and a very spacious, relaxing atmosphere. Located in the Hyatt Regency hotel, it is not a place that appeared to be very popular with locals. Yet, the food here is more local than most of the "local hotspots". A solid portion of the menu consists of fishes right from the gulf, such as the staple snapper, the swordfish and barramundi. The menu is highly focused on seafood and for good reason. They do it well, very well. The barramundi was extremely flavorful and cooked perfectly. Grilled asparagus and some house made mashed potatoes on the side. The salmon is imported from New Zealand, but nonetheless spectacular in preparation, very delicate and retaining its natural oils. Streamlined service as expected for a restaurant at a hotel where guests are accustomed to having things right. Overall, an excellent find and good to check out while in Clearwater. read more

For hotel food, this place was absolutely exceptional. Lots of restaurants that are attached to hotels, or run by hotels, are mediocre. Overpriced. Have bad service. Not this place! I love the fact that this place has an open kitchen layout. You can see the chefs working hard at making sure the food is perfect. Which it really was. The seafood here is fresh. Fresh. The crabcakes, in particular, were exceptional. They are breaded, to be sure, but there is a generous portion of crab meat in each order of three fat crabcakes. There is also an onion vinegar slaw that serves as a dipping sauce for the crabcakes, which went quickly when we ordered them. All told, we ordered a total of six orders. Not all at once, but the second after we finished the first. The third after we finished the second. So on and so forth because they were so good. One tip here is the order pieces of seafood à la cart. You can order an individual scallop, an individual lobster tail, individual shrimp. Collectively, you can string together quite a nice seafood meal. It adds up, but the quality of the seafood is absolutely perfect. I don't know how they keep the lobster tails so juicy and succulent, but I had three. I will absolutely be coming back here the next time I'm here. I had everything billed to our room, and all of that was seamlessly integrated. The fries are regular fries. Solid, fat American fries. read more

We ate here twice during our stay. Let's start with breakfast. We both ordered avocado toast. My wife sent hers back to the kitchen after one bite because she didn't think the avocado was fresh. Our server was very understanding and brought her out a Greek omelette which was much more to her liking. I had the avocado toast and thought it was fine. We both really liked the coffee and thought our service was great! We came here the last night of our stay for dinner and sat at a high top in the bar. The bartender, Angel, was very friendly and provided great service. He also made my wife a delicious chocolate old fashioned that she loved!! We had scallops for our appetizer and that was hands down the best part of the meal. The rest of the meal was average at best. However, Angel was very receptive to feedback and even got us a dessert on the house. read more

Amazing food, presentation, service and ambience, especially considering this restaurant is located in a hotel (Hyatt Regency). Great view overlooking the white sands of Clearwater Beach and the Gulf of Mexico right across the street. Admittedly, we were there in the off season and had the restaurant virtually to ourselves, but we were treated like royalty and the food was obviously prepared with great skill and care. Service was generally ok in terms of cleaning dishes from table, waiters did not take the time to allow 2 of us to even order drinks before they took off and disappeared for the next 20 minutes. We wound up asking a busboy to find our waiter so we could order beverages. He returned and said he couldn't find either waiter for our service area. The busboy continued to service our table for almost the entire meal. He was great, and a real bright spot in our experience!! The ambiance was lovely, a bright happy vibe, with tables spaced far enough from each other to be able to hear your companions conversation without straining. Food was excellent, with a twist on traditional Thanksgiving dishes that truly elevated the experience to a high end gourmet level. Sushi was absolutely delicious and must have taken a LOT of time and effort to make. It was not standard run of the mill sushi. Rolls were delicately wrapped in sheeted mango and strawberry. I thought they were dessert rolls, they were truly tasty and beautiful!! Salad bar was small and in an awkward corner of room, had many choices. There were multiple seafood choices on cold bar; super fresh jumbo shrimp, smoked salmon, snow crab, king crab legs and another fish whose name escapes me at the moment, oysters on half shell, mussels etc. We drove down from Orlando to meet our daughter, and had been worried the restaurant might not live up to the hype. We are now planning on returning for Thanksgiving 2025, based on our experience this year. read more

We had a wonderful time at SHOR for my birthday. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. He assisted me in ordering gluten free items and luckily the redfish was GF. He said the redfish was the most popular menu item. The redfish was well seasoned and the peppers and cajun butter and fingerling potatoes went so well with it.. This is our second time coming here and its still the same. We got there on time to have dinner on the balcony and watch the sunset over Clearwater Beach. It was perfect and romantic and I would highly recommend it for date night. Parking is located on the back end of the Hyatt Hotel at 6$ an hour. For dinner 2 hours it was 18$ and pur waiter validated our parking making it free. Not shown in my photos is the espresso affigato-my husband loved it and said it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was inviting looking over the ocean with a guitar player. So nice. The food is as good, all of it was over seasoned with pepper though. Everything! So peppery. But, the food was good, would come back. The water glasses were dirty and gnats were flying everywhere. Quite annoying. I know it's at the beach. Well. This place is alright. I will return for the convenience because I'm staying at the Hyatt. Keep in mind we have only come for breakfast thus far. Our waitress rarely came around to check on the table. She wouldn't come fill our waters. Subsequently, we had to ask other servers for things we needed. Unfortunately again I asked for cream cheese and it took 2 different servers to get it. The food also for all of us took an extraordinarily long time to come out, considering they were not busy. Luckily, the food was fantastic. I like that I can build my own omelette here. It was delicious and I'd definitely order again. The prices are good considering the lack of service. Some hotel restaurants are amazing and worth spending a night in. Others, like SHOR at the Hyatt, are worth skipping altogether. We came for dinner mid-week and the place was nearly empty. That should be the first sign that the restaurant is not exactly... in demand. It has what I would describe as hotel-restaurant decor -- nothing memorable and nothing offensive. It was about as generic a dining room as I've ever sat in. It does have amazing sunset views, however, and I imagine this is the reason people book this restaurant at that time of the day. We came later in the evening, so there's naturally there's nothing to see outside at night. We were promptly seated in the middle dining room, away from the bar. Two other tables were occupied. It was pretty quiet, except for the excruciating scraping of the chairs on the tile. You'd think it would be pretty easy to run down to the hardware store and buy some chair felt pads for the chairs, but nope... no one in all the years this restaurant has been in service has thought to do that. That lack of attention to detail is pervasive and characteristic. It's not a large menu, which is a good sign in most cases. My wife ordered a grilled chicken breast and I had the salmon. We also ordered a side of brussel sprouts because they sounded so good! They apparently make bread to order, so you have to wait a bit, but then it comes out and it's warm and delicious. Our entrees arrived and we were immediately disappointed. It's as if the two dishes came from two different kitchens. My wife's chicken was a sad, dried-out piece of chicken with absolutely zero seasoning on it. Furthermore, it was mostly burnt. Same with the brussel sprouts. Burnt. Through and through. My salmon on the other hand was perfectly cooked and delicious. After we informed our server of the problems -- halfway through my course, because of course nobody came to check in on us after the entrees were served -- the manager came over and expressed his disappointment. He offered to have the dishes refired, but what's the point? If the kitchen can't get a simple chicken breast right the first time, it's unlikely to do so on the second try. Also, of course nobody should be asked "how's your meal" when you're already half-way through the entree. The server was inattentive. The manager did generously comp the chicken and brussel sprouts. We appreciated that. It was like a 2.5 star experience. The unevenness of the kitchen left me understanding why this place is not very popular. Definitely was not worth the prices they charge for the beach view. I'd look for other, better fine dining choices in the area until they work on improving the consistency of the quality of the tickets coming out of the kitchen. read more

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater last week for three nights. Shor was one of the best hotel restaurants we have been to. The service was so good from our server, Rob Res (?), that we had dinner at Shor all three nights, trying new dishes each night. Rob made sure our little kids had fun, guided us through the excellent menu, and made it a pleasurable experience each night. The grouper bites and calamari appetizers were outstanding! Also, the best sunset views on the beach. Rob even snapped photos for us each night. Thank you Shor and Hyatt Regency Staff! We'll definitely be back. read more

The SHOR has NEVER disappointed!! We've been here many times as locals over the years and it continues to be my husband's number one spot. The calamari steals the show EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I did not get a pic, we enjoy it so much we put our phones down. Can you believe that? We tried the crab cake this time. It was phenomenal, as expected. The perfect mix of crab, breadcrumbs and spices. I'd definitely order next time. So the grilled chicken and filet with the worlds best mashed potatoes, would completely grant another 45 minute drive to this number one beach spot view in America - again and again! However, the vegans that visited us had the hugest smile on their face while they were accommodated. They ordered a tempeh dish and were pleasantly surprised.
