I went to Cabela's to purchase a handgun. After waiting a 4 hrs. I finally was acknowledged by one of their sales people. I filled out all the paperwork and was told that there was a waiting period and that they would call, text, or email me when my paperwork was accepted. Twenty three days later and multiple phone calls (which were never answered) I went back. I went upstairs to the gun counter to ask about the status of my paperwork. One of personnel asked me if I had signed in. I told him I didn't know I had to. So I went to sign in and was told that it was to late to do so. I told him that I only wanted to ask a question about my paperwork. He replied, "Did you get a text, phone call, or email?" I said "No." He told me "Then it isn't ready." HUH? Needless to say I left and not in a very good mood either. This wasn't the first time that I was treated like crap. Wanted to look at a shot gun and was told that "There are eight people ahead of you and we close in a half an hour. So you won't be seen today." REALLY??? I left and will never go back to Cabela's for anything. I used to go there for all my camping items, etc... NEVER AGAIN. Absolutely HORRIBLE SERVICE, and the sales people have terrible attitudes. They are ALWAYS understaffed at the gun counter, they seem that the last thing that they want to do is help you. read more

Beware of shopping at Cabela's for guns online you can order it but you will never be able to get it Unless you can go camp out in front of the store and get on a list to have someone fill paperwork out with you. I went there twice an hour drive to be told I was out of luck this ad after I called to check in advance. Then if you want a refund they are rude as hell like it's your fault. I get it that Covid makes it more difficult but you should treat customers like crap. I am still waiting for my refund to be processed . I have bought 5 guns from them and now I will just go elsewhere i used to live this place but it seems customer service is unimportant. read more

Even if your not into outdoor stuff, or hunting/fishing- this store is well worth a visit! They have a huge fish aquarium with some interesting fish, a display of animals and airplanes and a AWESOME cafe that has Elk and Buffalo burgers! There is so much here its amazing, and if you are into outdoors or hunting/fishing this is a must go to place! I would highly recommend taking your children here also, very amazing place! read more

We met a half dozen or so employees today. The first tried to help me find a particular lock for my trailer hitch. We couldn't find it. Ten minutes later he found me in a completely different part of the store with an alternative that worked perfectly. Next I asked for help putting g together an ultra-light rod and reel for trout. Within 15 minutes I was set up with new gear that was even strung. Exceptional! We ate at the Cabela's restaurant. The staff clearly take pride in cleanliness and order. I had an elk sandwich on brown bread along with a cup of their chunky beef chili. Delicious simple meal. My wife and son loved their elk burgers with fries. I will be happy to return! read more

I'm not a regular Cabela's customer and after today I don't think I will become one. I have been looking for a specific item that I was able to locate at Cabela's website at a good price. I knew what I wanted and was prepared to buy it today. The website said it was probably in stock at the Lacey location. Unfortunately Cabela's showed me why retail is going down the tubes these days. 1. If you are going to have a greeter that tells you where to find stuff in the store they should know where stuff is in the store. I was sent to the wrong area and no one helped me to find what I was looking for. 2. When someone is wandering around the sales floor for over 10 minutes, walking in circles obviously looking for something it would really help if your sales people take time away from talking to their friends to see if they can help a customer, especially when there are two sales people talking to one friend. After 20 minutes I gave up and left for home. Complete service failure. Guess I will be spending my money elsewhere. read more

Today March 8th 2020 at 4:00 pm my 11 year old daughter and I were shopping, My daughter became hungry so we ordered her some chili cheese fries in the Cafe, The order came through with the chili, cheese and peppers all separated from the fries. I simply in a calm voice asked Natasha the cook if she could heat up the fries with the cheese on top. In return I was ignored and asked why was I still standing there. I indiacted I am a customer and Natasha replied quote "I don't give a flying fuck who you are". I asked for her manager and she said there was not one working today. I ask the cashier who was nice to call a different department manager over in which I made a report. I hope the corporate office calls me because this is miss conduct all the way. Both Cabela's and Bass Pro shop have welcome doors to us Military men and women in which I am of 23 years and this is how we are treated at this location. I will never go there again! Cabela's receives the unofficial award for WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!! I went in to see if I could find a holster for my pistol. I noticed there were eight (8) employees behind the tills, and two helping the 20 or so customers milling around. After 20 minutes or so, I catch the eye of an employee. "May I help you?". Finally! I thought. "I'm looking for a holster for my pistol. It's a Walther PPK.". He says, "Well You'll have to bring in the gun, and we'll do a 'holster fitting' ". Go back downstairs, out to the parking lot, get the gun, empty it, remove the clip, go back across the parking lot, and back upstairs. He looks at it, and says, "The holsters are over there, just come back when you find one that fits.". Not wanting to go through 200 holsters, I go back to the counter, hoping they can find one in their "system". After a half hour of standing around; In walks "Michael" from California. "Is that your weapon?", "Yes, and I was looking. . . . . ", "Did you register it downstairs?", "No, I showed it to one of your guys up. . . . ". "Doesn't make any difference. You have to register it downstairs." Well, thanks for all your help, but no thanks. After about an hour and a half, I walked out. No wonder On-Line stores are doing so much better!! Cabela's. I've bought several firearms over the years and I reload multiple calibers of ammunition for my firearms. I was recently in Cabelas to pick up some small pistol primers and bullets. My wife and I waited around at the gun counter for quite awhile so I could look at a pistol they had in the showcase. There were two other customers being helped by them at the time so I thought it wouldn't be a problem if I asked a couple of questions regarding the reloading supplies (primers, bullets, powder, etc.). When I asked one of the fellows if there were any small pistol primers in stock he told me to "go look". I wandered over to the area where they normally stock the primers and was looking for a brick of them but, nope... no primers. So I went back to the counter and asked the fellow who sent me to the primer aisle in the first place if they were going to get any primers anytime soon. He shrugged his shoulders and said "good luck" and walked to the other end of the counter, away from me. I thought he was helping someone so I waited for him to return. He never did return and the other guy behind the counter ignored me. Bottom line? Today, I went to a local gun store in Centralia and within minutes I bought the gun I was going to buy up at Cabela's AND I bought a brick of Large Pistol primers. He told me he had ordered up Small Pistol primers and should have them in within a week. I asked him to set aside a brick for me and I'll pay for it when he gets them. He had no problem with that. Cabelas is off of my shopping list forever. I don't know what happened to that Lacey Cabelas store but it's taken a heckuva turn for the worst. I'll shop locally at my neighborhood's little gun/ammo store. Friendly as all get out, reasonably priced, local, well stocked, knowledgeable, entertaining and helpful. Good bye Cabelas. I love, love Cabela's but their cafe......well I just wasn't impressed, the elk burger I got was dry the meat was to over cooked so it ruined the elk, they charge 50 cents for cheese, I got 1 pickle and 2 tiny pieces of onion on my burger. The dude that was cooking was extremely rude and kind of snappy. I liked the cheese curds those were pretty good, the onion rings were good so that is why they get 3 stars, I love the Cabela's in Lacey, Wa my husband and I were there the day they opened. The fish pond they have inside is really cool you pay 25 cents and you get fish pellets that you can feed them, the aquarium was cool I saw a bunch of fish I wouldn't mind eat lol including this monster of a catfish and sturgeon they were so big:-) read more

My husband & I have shopped at Cabela's for maybe 20 years, buying ALL of his clothes at the storefront and online, and assorted fishing and boating equipment. However, since BassPro bought them out, they have raced to the bottom, in selection, service, and price. They immediately halted the Cabela's line of clothing (their shirts were the BEST - high quality for the price, two pockets, true sizing, and tough to last), and didn't even hang on to the most popular Cabela's styles. The store is even more crazy disorganized after BassPro, and I think the storefront prices are even higher, if that's possible. We've been to Lacey at least 3 times since the buyout, and walked out empty-handed. Our biggest loss is that we can no longer find the great Cabela's type of work & outdoor shirts that we and thousands of others have purchased for many years. What a dumb move! read more

My significant other and I went in the other day to mostly window shop. We were in the camping section trying to determine if the product he was gonna go buy came with everything, or if he needed to buy add ons. Clearly we lingered two minutes too long. Four (yes four) employees came up and surrounded us entrapping us. Three men and one female. I felt unsafe. While they did answer his questions that he had (these same employees were nowhere to be found when we first looked for them), it was inappropriate to surround us in this way. When I moved away for space to the end of the aisle, two followed me and still had me blocked on both sides until I stepped back (they were also not honoring social distancing). I explained the mask I had to wear already made me feel claustrophobic and I suffer from claustrophobia when strangers like themselves are so close to me. I will never return to Cabela's. Sierra and REI will be my places of choice moving forward. read more

I really do not like giving businesses low ratings but sometimes the business deserves such a rating. I went to Cabela's in Lacey today, January 16, 2022, in search of fire logs for my smoker. They didn't have the fire logs and that is understandable. The poor weather conditions all over the country a the shortage of supplies due to COVID are the cause of the shortage. No problem. My concern is with Cabela's failure to enforce the statewide Mask mandate. 90 percent of the people shopping in this Cabela's were brazenly NOT wearing a mask. When I complained to the person working at the front door, he said "Cabela's is in compliance with the governor's requirement of signs at the entrance to the store showing that masks are required, the availability of masks if someone entering the store does not have a mask, and for a hand sanitation station at the front door. Cabela's does not confront patrons who choose not to comply with the requirement. There are differing opinions about wearing masks you know!" We bought, paid for a gun, was told to come and get it, cuz we had gone through all of the process and was told to come up to the Express line to sign in. They then told us no you'll have to come back at a different time because there is already 25 people on the list. When we explained that they said we'd have no problems picking it up from the express line that day, but maybe an hour wait, which was fine, until we got to the store. Then they told us no we'd have to come back a different day. This was not acceptable, and total BS as we were being told now we can't... We were lied to. We then had to get a head manager to help us. Which she did thankfully, because we live an hour away and can't just come back. The manager helped us get taken care of the right way. Thank you!!! read more

Nice store. They have some interesting items, but prices are full retail and in many cases insane. There were NO after christmas markdowns last holiday season. I go there occasionally to look around. Sometimes I get some clothing or firearms items. The last time I went to the store the firearms section looked like it was a former soviet grocery store (completely empty shelves). There are always at least ten people in line with usually only one or two salespeople. Other floors are different, but the prices are so high, it's hard to justify most purchases. Those that are at least reasonable are usually chinese communist made garbage. I avoid buying anything made in china. Sorry, I'll pass. It's gone downhill since they merged with bass pro. read more

If I could make this a 0 star review I would. I've been a cabelas black card holder for many years. Today was my final straw. I went in to purchase a couple firearms, 3 hours later the only thing I left with was a massive headache. These kids behind the counter have no idea what they're doing. The paperwork process is typically a headache being that the expiration date on my license says "military" but today they took it to far. They were unwilling and rude. I headed down stairs to try and talk to a manager that didn't seem to care and the cashier couldn't even figure out how to put all of my club points onto a gift card. How have I not reviewed Cabela's in Lacey? I've been going here since Grand Opening! Cabela's in Lacey opened when people were developing land like a hobby. It is a ways out and you can catch glimpses of the shopping dreams developers had before The Great Recession as this store was to be an anchor store for so much shopping. Now it sits alone surrounded by nothing. It has massive parking and it needs it all. Be careful not to hit darting kids who seem to think that real life Frogger is fun! This Cabela's is everything a Cabela's should be. Massive diorama? Check. Stuffed mounts everywhere? Check. Character oozing out of every corner? Check! Two stories of awesomeness. Your clothing, shoe, fishing, and boat needs are addressed on the first floor. You'll also find the fudge shop with their terribly addictive candied pecans here as well as their home center. I'd avoid the home center unless you like signs. Most of the items there tend to be more fake than real or just down right plastic. In the back is the bargain area where you may find something great or you may find something broken. Upstairs is archery, guns, knives, optics, calls, camping, and cooking. Navigating Cabela's is easy since each department feels so distinctive. They have an impressive camping selection. Well actually their entire selection is impressive! I have bought a food dehydrater that works fantastically! Their gun counter is swamped on the weekend. If you want to buy a gun or ask questions come during the week. Their service is great! Going back to that food dehydrater they wrote a ticket and asked me to pull in the loading dock to pick it up. By the time I paid for it they were ready for me outside. When it wouldn't fit they took it out of the box and it fit like a charm. Downsides? You will wait in line to check out. Cabela's could seriously benefit from department cashiers or handheld devices for credit card transactions in areas that make sense like the fudge shop, archery, fishing, knives, and optics. They may have something already in place for guns, but if they don't add it to the list. These areas already have counters. They need associates to unlock the merchandise. How convenient would it be to ring up right there? I've waited fifteen minutes in line before while someone is checking out with a cart full of ammo. With no slot scanners and everything having to be scanned with the gun it puts cashiers at a disadvantage. The food upstairs probably shoud be skipped. You get huge quantities but so so quality. Preformed frozen patties never taste that great especially when their fast cooked. Their brisket is atrocious. Their deli is ok, but over priced. Overall I love this location! read more

Cabela's carries a very wide assortment of goodies for pretty much everything relating to the outdoors. The place is ginormous, and when you walk through the wind vortex that is their front doors, you are immediately wafted with the smell of food... which I found odd... There are a lot of deals to be had here on some items, while some items are quite overpriced. If i'm paying top dollar I expect better customer service, which you won't get here. read more

Love this place! Great place to browse and they have something for the whole family. Good assortment of water activities, camping gear, and plenty of hunting accessories. The games are upstairs and we always have to drop $5 in the hunting game...my wife has one the last two times. The sale cave usually has a cool item for us as well. They dont always have the best prices, but they make up for that with the experience. I have to take away a star only because this store looks a little skimpy compared to the Hamburg, PA Cabela's which I have frequented on numerous occasions on the way to or from my in-laws house. No impressive statue in the front, the restaurant's smaller and they took away the buffet, everything else is just a little "less" but, believe me, the selection is still there! Definitely worth the trip if you're outdoorsy in the least. Don't miss the yummies in the General Store - I love those S'more bars! Big GRAND opening with sales and such will be January 25 - Feb 3rd. Went in today after buying a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro. Had the courtesy of meeting Marcellus in the Archery Department who helped me set up my bow. I've never done archery before but he made sure I knew all safety precautions and really spent 1 on 1 time with me, making sure I felt comfortable with shooting it and giving me really valuable tips. Not once did I feel rushed, brushed off or felt dumb for asking questions. This man is the definition of excellent customer service. This 5 star review is because of his friendliness and helpfulness. The worst cabelas I've ever been to. Tried to do a return and they just kept telling me to contact the person I purchased my Coleman stove from when I bought it in the store. I even had my receipt!! It's beyond frustrating that when you have a receipt and you're trying to do a return on something brand new that didn't even work when I went to use it for the first time. Clearly they don't want to do a return because they must be commission based. Never shopping here ever again. Got sold something that's broken and now I'm stuck with it. Their queue for the virtual line doesn't work, nor could the outfitter add you manually to the line when you couldn't via the site. Asked the guy doing nothing if we could just see two guns to make a comparison so I could just purchase online and was told he couldn't. We were done after that. I love the store, however have some concerns about the way the employees are treated by management. Security offers very little support to floor teammates, there is some unkind teammates who feel it necessary to bully less fortunate individuals and management pushes cashiers to obtain telephone info or they're told they're not doing very well. Management will all break at the same time with their leads and leave teammates on the floor with customer escalations and do not answer their teammates on the floor who are currently providing customer service. Security should be supportive of what they see and appear lazy. Teammates with disabilities appear to have no representation or care if their managers. I encourage teamwork to include support and a real sense of care to their teammates who work! read more

Every time I attempt to go to cabelas and get help in the Archery department, the staff always treat us like we're an inconvenience. Today for example, it's 3:55 pm., the only "outfitter" says, "I'm leaving at 10 minutes to 5, I'm not sure I'll be able to help you today". We called two days ago and were told the guy is only here Friday and Saturday. How is someone supposed to get help in the archery department?? I want to support local but big business has driven them out...it seems we're in a vicious cycle of never getting help. read more

Sad how horrible the customer service has fallen in this once outstanding store. I was in to pick up a pair of sunglasses, (never mind that they overcharge for most everything in there). The one pair left was (because Bass Pro is cutting down/out all Cabela's inventory), the display pair. When I asked the snarky sales rep about the possibility of purchasing that display pair because there were no others, I was informed that I could not buy that display pair. Then she told me she had no idea if or when there would be any more in stock! So... Not only can you not get the one and only pair in the entire store.. There is no more coming. Makes sense for them to hold on to that precious last display pair because after all it is the mission of the store to display their limited almost nonexistent inventory that you cannot buy!
