Dear Cabela"s, I just received a sale booklet from Bass Pro and Cabela"s. I have been fishing and hunting for the pass 50 years, and i have not ever needed a 9 MM or a 308 Pistol or a long range rifle to hunt with or fish with. The stores advertisement state they or for hunting and fishing and camping, and hiking.This booklet is full of gun and pistol ads, with very little fishing on the back page and some camping .I spend around $5000.00 a year in your stores,and if this is going to be your ads leave me out. I've purchased 2 guns from them in the past year. Each time I've gone there customer service is piss poor. First time guy asked me if I have a number I said no, he told me to grab one. So I grabbed a number he ran to the back and snuck out the other door with his coat. read more

It's an outdoor store....pretty much stands on its own. O would like to see a few higher end products and manufacturers added. Osprey hiking packs, Merrill footware, along with Darn Tough socks to name a few. They have a good selection of sleeping bags and camp pads. A far better selection and higher quality product than Field and Stream and Dicks sporting goods. It you are hammock bound this summer I would highly recommend picking up a bug net for it. They have them at reasonable prices. If you are looking for supplies and equipment for camping or hunting including guns, ammo, archery supplies and equipment this is a great place to go. I do believe REI would "take the cake" when it comes to high end, top notch camping, hiking, and outdoor apparel, however you will leave Cabela's with most items comparable to REIs, but with more cash left in your pocket. They have pretty reasonable prices on most of the stuff I've seen there, and are certainly less than many of rei's comparable products. You certainly won't be lacking goods by shoppin Cabela's huge inventory of products. The list goes on and on.. read more

Called today to ask about a handgun they supposedly had in stock. The person who picked up was extremely rude and pushy. Ended up not even carrying the gun their website listed. They have a lot of stuff at low prices but the customer support is terrible. read more

Third visit to Cabela's in three weeks. Their Gun Library is a great place to spend time, talk with people who are super-knowledgeable about firearms, ammunition and accessories. They have a HUGE selection of firearms from pistols to rifles and everything in between with prices that are not outrageous. I look forward to many more visits! read more

Not sure what the store manager's number one goal is for this store but it not customer service. It took me 3 days till someone picked up on the phone and they told me they are to busy and I need call back later. And I went to the store just to wait another 4 hours for something I already bought. All that glitter is not gold. This is after they told me to drive in to the store from Fort Knox for better service. read more

Tried calling the store in Louisville, KYmultiple times to get information about bore sightseers and scopes. When someone from the gun dept finally answered, they told me they were in the gun library and would "try" to connect me with the right person. Didn't happen. Several days later I was able to make it into the store. Unfortunately, the person that finally showed up to help (I was the only customer) was a part-timer and admitted the he was learning from me. After several painful minutes of following him around as he looked for the items, we found everything behind the gun counter. I got what I needed, but too many bad experiences. I would return my purchase if I could find it somewhere else locally. Cabellas is a fun place to go and browse around, and I will go back. My hope in writing this review is that someone from corporate will take step to improve customer service. read more

I had never visited a Cabela's before, and needed some .22LR ammo and reloading supplies, so I decided to gather up a friend and my cousin to hit the grand opening. I figured if they had anything in stock, it would be then. Well, I was right! The grand opening was at 11AM and we showed up at 7:30 to get in line. We were about the 20th people in line. The staff was nice enough to bring by bottled water, coffee, and doughnuts. After braving the rain for a while (and winning some free hats), we made our way inside. The layout is pretty nice, with everything on one single floor. We headed straight for the ammo (like everyone else) and I spent 10 minutes stuck in one aisle, not being able to move due to all the people. I got what I needed though, which was fine. One of the staff was nice enough to lead me through the sea of people to the knife counter. There, they had a great selection of fixed and folding knives from manufactures such as CRKT, Benchmade, Gerber, and SOG. The guy behind the counter was nice enough to let me fondle a few Benchmades. Unfortunately, their prices were a bit high and they don't carry Spyderco knives. After we checked out the bargain cave (good deals in there), we checked out. The checkout line looped around the entire store, but amazingly it only took us 15 minutes to check out. The selection and staff were nice, but the prices are a bit high, and the store is actually a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. Still, I'll be back to get more ammo and whatever I missed the first time around. read more

For an outdoor sporting enthusiast I doubt you will find a better store and selection than this store has to offer. 1 of a kind inventory and complete cross range of outdoor gear from high end to low end. Very impressed, and very impressed with the level of staff and knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. This store will do very well, I would think that any other offshoot store selling outdoor gear is going to fell the pain of this competitor that is now open for business in Louisville. read more

The women's section was a lot small than the men's but I did get a great coat on sale. The staff are all nice.

Poor customer service. Has scope mounted with mounts and bases I bought from them. After an hour and a half of waiting they didn't even use the ones I bought. Called after I got home and have gotten the run around ever since. They also kept all the paperwork and and the old mounts from the scope I brought to them. I have left my number for them to call me when they can "find it". I have yet to hear a word from any of them. read more

Great selection of firearms. Non sale prices are high. Gun library prices are ridiculous. I can purchase new for the same price as there used. Also the NICKS checkout takes a long time. I have been at check out for an hour several times. read more

I've shopped at the Bass Pro in Clarksville for several years now and was excited to see a Cabela's opening right down the street. However, I'll still make the trip to Bass Pro for bigger shopping trips. The Cabela's is nice and has a lot of different departments, but after shopping Bass Pro I was very underwhelmed. It is quite small for these kinds of stores and doesn't have much selection within each department. I went looking for fishing line and bait and they had the line I wanted but not in the color I like. Also they didn't have the style bait I wanted in the brand I like. Bass Pro not only has every style bait in every brand, but they also carry every color; not Cabela's, it's very limited. It's great to have so close for my quick fishing and camping needs, but when I need more selection or need something specific I will go to Bass Pro. read more

Got a promotional credit card for a discount and so did my son. We both paid off the bill, but they didn't apply his to the account then hounded him to pay again. He finally got them to look into the issue and they returned the unapplied funds. He took cash to the store because they are so incompetent. Then to top it all off they dinged his credit and said he was late. Stay away from Cabela's Credit Cards!!! read more

Went into this store to buy a shotgun. I knew Exactly what I wanted and where it was but unfortunately it was behind the counter. I stood there for 20 minutes waiting to check this shotgun out and you had one guy behind the counter in the middle of the Christmas season running around like a chicken with its head cut off. So after 20 minutes of that bullshit I went to "customer service" only to be told that 20 minutes is a short time to be waiting at the gun counter. Really?! so basically what they were saying is a common wait time at the gun counter is more than likely between thirty minutes to forty five minutes and more. This is the year 2017 soon to be 2018. Somebody please show me who in the world has that kind of time anymore? If Cabela's has no more respect for my time and the time of other people than that they can kiss my ass and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Only giving one star because it won't let me give ZERO!!! They have clothing clearly marked one price, twice as much when you get to the register. Manager goes back to look, sees the exact same thing and refuses to honor the price as marked. I decide not to get the clothing and check out with other items, one of which was from the bargain cave. I'm shown one total and when the cashier scans a coupon, the bill GOES UP! He then has to redo the entire transaction in 2 separate orders because the coupon removed the bargain cave discount. WHAT?!? How does that happen? It's 2017, not 1983. A system should be able to handle multiple types of items and honor coupons accordingly. Then to top it all off, we bought a pair of boots with a warranty and $300 winch with a lifetime warranty. Receipts print out and you can't see any of the print. Told they can't reprint another receipt from a different machine. So in other words if the items fail, the warranty will not be honored because the receipt is illegible. That sounds like 3 strikes and you're out Cabela's! WHAT A JOKE!!!! read more

Wow Incredible Store! Even more incredible staff. Bought a Brand new boat last night from Scott. He showed us all the features and even tested the engine in front of us answering all our questions. We will definitely recommend to friends and buy our next boat from Cabela's Along with all out gear. What a clean store and easy going non pushy sales staff. I love the fact that there is plenty of employees able to assist customers. You guys are doing it right from the get go. Thanks again for bringing jobs and sales tax revenue to KY. read more

WOW !!! I have never written a review before but this experience needs to shared this is defiantly the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. I went to the store because I received a gift card otherwise I know better but that aside I took my daughter who is on a shooting team to look at rifles after hanging around for 20 minutes watching a employee inspecting the very rifles we were interested in, she never offered to help us, I walked up to the employee sitting on a stool in front the Expensive Gun Room and asked him if he could help us, he called to the girl who then decided to turn around and help us long story short we decided to purchase a rifle through the kiosk and have it delivered to the store . After checking there web site this morning i found out the gun had been delivered so I went to pick it up, my first trip back to the pick up counter i found 3 employees 1 woman behind the counter 2 men in front hanging out together after I walked up and stood for a minute one of the employees told me to go ahead. I showed her my order number and she had me sign for it at that point she said "oh this is a firearm you will need to go to the gun counter to pick this up " I went to the gun counter and there were 2 people both with a customer. I stood right by the pick up your firearms counter and made eye contact with both, I then waited 15 to 20 minutes while they tried to sell merchandise finally I went back to the employee on the stool and asked him if he could help at which point he told me he could not get up from the stool and then proceeded to get up from the stool and walk me back to the busy employee and tell him I was next ( I thought he may have wanted to call for one of the guys hanging out at the pick up desk?) finally I purchased the gun and what I can only assume was a manager or assistant manager came over to verify the paperwork there was still a lot of folks waiting everywhere but he just stood there for about 20 minutes while myself and the employee helping me corrected some paperwork and never helped a customer (real let them wait kind of guy )Total time to pick up a already paid for rifle 1 hour 25 minutes WOW !!! Last comment from employee " hope you can enjoy whats left of your day" Cabala's has a real prize team running this place !!! read more

I have a Bass Pro Shop about two miles away. I live in Indiana. Every time I go to Cabelas, they don't have what I went there for. I hunt and fly fish a lot. I went to see there Fly tying supplies, man was I was shocked. I bought my supplies from cabelas for years by catalog. But you have nothing in the store. Bass pro has everything that I need in there store. You really need to make your fly fishing supply area a lot bigger. I drive a long ways to see your store, but I was really bumed out. But I still stand for your store. read more
