This place is legit. I was kinda skeptical at first when I heard they were moving in the Cincinnati area last year. I have always been a big fan of outdoor stores like REI, Field & Stream, and even Bass Pro Shops. So when I heard Cabela's was coming to town I was hesitant about giving them a shot. Let me say, I'm glad I did! I am now a frequent visitor and customer there. The merchandise selection and pricing is just as good as their competitors and the staff is always very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their products. I, too, am so pleased that Cabela's chose to have a location in the Queen City area, since the only one I was able to visit in the past was the one in Wheeling, WV. I walked in with 100 bucks of birthday money burning a hole in my pocket. Also, I had purchased a Mag-Lite flashlight many years ago from Cabela's mail order that had stopped working despite a new bulb and batteries. So I took it with me since it had the Cabela's name engraved on the head. Well, obviously I had no receipt because it was so long ago, but I was curious to see if they would stand behind a product with their name on it. They did. I probably paid about 40 bucks for the flashlite years ago, but they no longer carry Mag-Lites because of the newer (and much lighter) LED lites. So they wound up giving me a 42.00 credit, which was pretty generous.So I bought a comfy pair of shoes and a money belt (hard to find money belts any more) Got another surprise at check-out. A 10% discount on Labor Day weekend. So I left there a happy camper (no pun intended) with plenty of money left over and will be returning often. read more

My husband, son and I went here for the first time last weekend. The location is nice and easy to find however it is pretty small compared to the West Virginia location even smaller than the Columbus location. But it still had all the basics you could want plus a little extra. My husband was very excited to find out that cabelas sells their own brand of tractor. But wasn't to thrilled about there gun safe selection. I wasn't impressed with there home decor section it was maybe two rows. They did have a deli that we are wanting to go back and try soon to get some exotic sandwiches. The West Virginia location is still our favorite but this one is much more convenient for us read more

Awesome customer service! Other Outdoor trade retailers, should take a lesson on "how to engage a customer" from these guys. Prices are very competitive, ranging in from low to higher in lots of areas throughout the store. Store was clean, easy to find what you're looking for and staff will offer that extra mile, for online purchase if not in the store. By far... the best "outfitter" in the outdoor world in this area. I used to be a very loyal Cabela's customer until they recently told me that they would no longer honor the lifetime warranty on Cabela's brand items. I purchased a pair of hunting waders because of the warranty. When I tried to exchange them because of a leak, I was told that the warranty is no longer good because when Bass Pro Shops bought them the warranty was no longer honored. I have never had a good experience at Bass Pro Shops so I was very disappointed when Cabela's was purchased by them. Time to find a new outfitter: Here I come, Mack's Prairie Wings. read more

Firearms staff. I found them unfriendly and intimidating. I tried to purchase a firearm from the West Chester location several months ago. I was notified by email that my firearm was available for pickup at the location. Arriving at the firearms dept. I had to get a number and wait for it to be called. after about 15 minutes my number was called and I made my way to the counter. I showed my ID and after a brief chat to the sales guy about why I was there, he went in a back room behind the counter some time later about 15 more minutes and brought out the firearm that I had bought. Not to mention he had asked me several times what my name was? The gun he brought out was not what I had ordered. All total time, I had been waiting for two hours! He gets the firearm finally that I ordered, I fill out the regulatory form for a background check and took another 30 minutes , and it comes up delayed. So he explained to me what a"Delay" meant, and that I would be notified when it cleared. Three weeks later I get notification that I can come and pick up the firearm. Once again I head to the store, only to find out that it's still Delayed!!! WTF?!!!! I don't know what this guy did, but now I can't buy a firearm any where without my background check now coming up Declined. So now I have to go through the FBI appeal process! again WTF?!!!! read more

The process to buy a gun at Cabalas is ridiculous. I have purchased several guns and rifles but never experienced anything like this. I waited in line 15 min when it was finally my turn this person zip in front me with a beeper. They provide him with service. In all the time I was waiting neither of the gentlemen said do you have a beeper? Second of all why the heck does it take 45 min to buy a gun!?!? Seriously other store can do in less time. They treat you like your buying a class 3 weapon. I won't be buying a gun at cabelas ever again. Go to Target World or a gun show save yourself the time. read more

I wanted to purchase clothing that was on sale only online. I had not purchased the particular brand before and did not know how the sizes ran. The staff in the Westchester store went out of their way to find similar products for me to try on. When I received my order everything fit perfectly. Great customer service! read more

Horrible experience with online ordering and in store service. I ordered a shotgun online for in-store pickup, received an email confirmation and the money was taken out of my account. I checked my Cabala's account a few days later and noticed that my order was listed as canceled. I called the toll free number but it kept disconnecting so I called the store. The associate that answered did not give her name. She said they probably ran out and that she could not check on it. The shotgun is still listed on the website at the same price and they sent me an email advertisement with the gun just this morning. I asked her if we could redo the order and she said no. I said that this really frustrates me as a customer and she replied yes, I'm sure it does. I then asked why I should shop at Cabela's anymore and she said I don't have to and probably shouldn't. I didn't know what to say so I thanked her for her time, hung up and wrote this review. read more

Very disappointed with this particular store. Long lines, terrible customer service and mediocre prices. Have visited a number of Cabela's through out the country, this I by far the poorest run. read more

The archery desk is great with a decent archery range. All employees were very courteous and friendly. My kids love to see the animals and cool gear. read more
