Saw this place for months and held off figuring it was another Chipotle knock off; and I hate Chipotle. Boy was I wrong. I've been coming here every day for the past week. Probably my favorite place to eat for the past 2 years and I'm finally leaving y'all a review bc y'all deserve it!:) Y'all's staff is so awesome, they're fast and friendly and always say hello! I always get the same thing and it has not grown stale one bit. Y'all's mango pico is to die for, I always get double of it. The punch card thing y'all do has gotten me 3 free burritos so far. Love that. The Smokey cheddar is the way to go for the tortilla... so good. Everything is so good from rice to the protein and ALL of the toppings. There are SO MANY toppings. If theirs one thing I'll say and it's not even a complaint more of a suggestion, the bowls are a little small and that might be bc I get so much in the bowl but having a bigger bowl would make it easier to mix everything up without a mess. It's like eating a full bowl of Reese's puffs. Again I enjoy everything about this place so that's just a suggestion. Also the vibes are immaculate in there. Very vibrant. A friend recommended it and said it was a better chipotle, and oh boy was it ever, they make their tortillas fresh right in front of you with a press and they have 4 different flavors of tortillas, plain, ancho Chile, cheddar cheese, and cilantro. Or you can get the MOAT ( mother of all tortillas) which is where they combine all 4 flavors. DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend adding the roasted poblano peppers, and their queso is good too. Portion size is big and it's well priced. Little bonus : Their mint tea is pretty sweet, but mix the Mint tea half and half with the unsweetened regular tea and you have yourself a delicious refresher. read more

Went In and placed a to go order. Was told that since it's fairly large they would just make it and call my name when it's done. Sat there for 45 mins and nobody said anything and I finally went up and saw a bag with my name on it. Food had been sitting there for 30+ minutes and nobody told me. Was all cold by the time we ate and all of the bowls were half full? Very disappointed as I usually have the best experiences here! Ordered food at the wrong restaurant address. The manager legit hanged up on me without cancelling my order. Then the person at the register at the Cabo Bob's I was at called and he hanged up on her too. They still got my order done and it got refunded anyways. They are so amazing and helpful. Absolutely inedible. Ordered the special fish tacos, each one was composed completely differently aside from the fried fish tenders they use (that are so small they almost look like chicken nuggets) and the EXCESSIVE amount of rotten avocado paste they filled each up with. This was my first time trying this place and was extremely disappointed. I couldn't stomach what I ordered at all and got very sick only after a few bites, the rest ended up all going to waste. On top of it all, their website definitely must have sold my information. Been getting 20+ scam calls all day today looking similar to their business number, and the only I've used my number for recently was ordering this garbage just last night. This is infuriating me as my phone is the lifeline to my business and having it blown up by scammers hinders me greatly. I will actively encourage anyone I know to avoid this place at all costs. This was my first time at Cabo Bob's I was so excited about a location opening in North Austin By Texas Roadhouse! When you walk in you order through the line and then wait for your order it was super busy and everyone was all very helpful and they have a preset menu or customize your own burrito or bowl.they also have fish tacos too.They ask you what flavor tortilla you want and make your food.I ordered the brisket burrito and beef burrito to go and fish tacos and quesadillas to try for my son. Let me start off with saying the tortillas are only flour and I didn't see any corn tortillas for the fish tacos.Im from Southern California where fish tacos are known to have corn tortillas and cabbage and these fish tacos are made with flour. The burritos were just ok and my husband said his burrito was terrible.Im thinking to give them another try for nachos only.The flavored tortillas are not good I know a lot of people love them the beef burrito came with cheddar tortilla and it didn't hold up the burrito at all I had to eat it with a fork on a plate.My husband and I were sorely disappointed I needed up throwing mine away and so did my husband. read more

I'm surprised I haven't found this place sooner considering there are multiple locations. Anyhow, I was happy we did. I had the fish tacos and my son had nachos with chicken. My sons nachos were outstanding, he was in love. My fish tacos were also awesome. My only complaint was that they were finishing me tray of fish and so I got the last 3 fillets from that pan and 3 fresh filets from the new pan. The fray was so much better. It made me realize that unless I know it's fresh I probably won't order that fish again. Otherwise, flavors were great and definitely will be a place I will come back to. read more

Pretty decent food but extremely inefficient workflow. Only 2 other people in line and I imagine a couple of to go or Uber eats orders. I stood there for 5 minutes until they finally took my order and then waited another 8 minutes after the guy made the tortillas only to still not have gotten my simple 3 Baja fish tacos order in the queue. Told the manager I was out of here. So, 13 minutes later and only one other person in line behind me at this point and never even got the food so I left. Very broken system here. A shame. I do not recommend. They make a fresh tortilla, but if there is a backup in their small steam table, that soft fluffy flour tortilla will turn into a crunchy taco shell in no time. They were disorganised and it doesn't look like their employees are trained well on what goes in their signature burritos. Their rice wasn't cooked thoroughly as the Center was as hard as uncooked rice. I wanted to like you, but will never be back. The chips are crunchy and fresh and queso was good. Saturday 5/29/2021, order was scheduled to be ready@2:03pm i arrived @2:05, i pulled into one of the numbered parking spaces, dialed the number to tell them i was there. i received the automated response. after waiting for ten minutes and no one had come to my car with the order, i walked inside, waited by the pickup register for another 5 minutes. A young lady wearing a yellow cap who worked there walked by several times and asked no questions, and provided no help. it took the another young lady who was helping other customers who were placing their orders thru the line inside, to ask me how could she help. finally got my order. when i got home, i noticed it was missing the sauces i had ordered. When chipotle came to Austin I ate there and wasn't impressed, I didn't like taking big bites of any one ingredient, especially a mouthful of just rice. One day I tried it again and my friend Jordan asked to have his mixed up, so I tried and became the biggest fan. I was eating chipotle up to 5 times a week and ever since then I've been a die hard fan. Yes I like freebirds and all their options but I favor chipotle over freebirds, because the flavor of the burrito I get at chipotle tops anything I've had at freebirds. Fight me! Tonight I passed by a sign in great big letters that shouted out, BURRITO! Naturally I had to check it out being that burritos are like my arc reactor for survival. I let the staff know it was my first time and the man operating the tortilla press machine lit up like I was Tony stark paying a visit. He recommended the cheddar tortilla so I went with it followed by white rice, pinto beans, the most amazing shredded pulled pork I've ever seen, (I'm pretty certain it told me it loved me when I lay'd eyes on it) shredded cheese, guacamole, and green salsa topped with their 66 red sauce. Naturally I asked them to mix it up and proceeded to explain my chipotle story of how I didn't like it until I had it mixed. The guy I asked to mix it was a young guy and looked almost confused when I asked as if I was the first to ask to have the ingredients mixed. The lady at the cash register grabbed some gloves and happily said, "let me show you how to mix it." She then tells me that this burrito is much better than chipotle and the guy next to her looked at me with his eyes big and wide and exclaimed, "We don't use the C word in here!" I laughed and thought, that's a big claim. Being that it's my first time, they offered me half off my meal. Ummmm yes please! I first got to try Cabo Bob's at their UT location, and I was so happy when I saw that they opened up north. I've gotten curbside pick up from this place several times now, and it's always tasty and quick, while also taking the necessary COVID precautions. Ambience - very california surfer vibe going that has a tropical and laid back vibe. This new store arises from the dead carcass of the former Pei Wei. The decor is very vibrant colors that even has a really cute painted mural inside. The tables kinda look like surfboards, the menu looks alot like a chalk drawn one with colorful letters and the kitchen isbl wide open. The store definitely has a nice welcoming vibe going. Menu - as the name states they do burritos and more. They are fairly similar to other burrito joints like Freebirds with the create your own. But they do also offer a create your own on other items like salads and tacos. There isnt a very large selection of ingredients thou which was kinda disappointing. There is a standard menu that offers predetermined items that range from burritos, salads, fish tacos and so on. They are definitely more varied than other places of similar concept. However since the main name says burritos I felt like it lacked burrito fame. Like mentioned before they have a make your own burrito but the very limited (as compared to other concepts) ingredients left alot to be desired. Service - the service here was excellent. I was greeted multiple times with smiles, everyone looked happy and an employee even came and talked to me about the menu as I looked over it. Even the cafeteria style linemen (and women) were very chatty and friendly as they made my order. Overall thou the service was really good. Food - I opted not to make my own burrito since the ingredients were kinda limited. I instead decided to get a predetermined burrito to test the menu engineering of its items. I decided on the "Best Steak Burrito" which comes with rice, beans, pico, queso and steak. And with a name like that, I definitely wanted to put its name to the test. One thing I noticed about their burritos is that they make them fairly short. It had a decent amount of fillings but the burrito was packed short and tall. Almost like the size of a burger as it was almost squared. Little unusual to me. So eating this burrito was fairly awkward. As soon as I took my first few bites the fillings just started spilling out and making a mess. I actually had to finish the last half with silverware. The experience of eating it was not really enjoyable and really messy. The flavor profile thou was just ok. The main reason I say this is because the queso completely overpowered the other flavors of meat and condiments. All I could really taste was cheese. This was very disappointing for me. I mean, I like queso, but I also like the other stuff. It also didnt have much flavor so I had to use some of their habanero sauce. The sauce was actually the tastiest thing I had. It had a great flavor with a sweet start and pretty spicy finish. But I dont think the sauce should be the star. The burrito was filling but didnt have any real flavor or flair. Overall - I am sure they probably have better items but my meal was pretty lackluster. It was decent but since the queso overpowered and it was "difficult" to eat, it really wasnt very enjoyable. But that is just my opinion. I did enjoy the concept and service thou. The price point is also very reasonable and not outlandish. But there just wasnt anything that separated them from other concepts in my opinion. read more

All of this happened during our COVID crisis. The cashier mistakenly packed my burrito into another person's sack and they left. It was my turn to check out and I ask where my burrito is. The cashier proceeds go outside to chase the lady down. Goes through her bags and enters with my burrito. Why could they just make another?! I won't get into the lack of fill they placed in it. We love the food. That is not in question. When you order online you are given a pick up time. The last two times I ordered online it was not ready until 30 minutes after the promised time. Great spot, we just tried the one on Anderson Lane today. It was pretty busy especially for being 7 PM on Tuesday. This place reminds me of Chipotle mixed with Freebirds but also offers fried fish. I was mildly disappointed initially that they didn't have grilled fish but the fried fish was pretty good. Nicely breaded and crunchy. The ancho ranch dressing for my salad was excellent. read more
