I really hate to do this, but I have to.....so here it goes. I came here today for the first time with Thing One and Thing Two. I ordered the 25 street taco deal for $30.30. When Thing One and I approached the counter, the women behind the counter ignored us for several minutes. When she finally decided to look unoccupied, she asked what we wanted with a bit of a 'tude'. We placed the order and waited inside for about 15 minutes for the order to be ready. When we opened the bag and unwrapped the tacos, they were heavy with grease, so much so that the tacos were inedible. In addition, it was as if the meat in some of the tacos had already turned. Therefore, I had the throw the entire order in the trash and just like that $30 dollars wasted. Further, the inside of the locations salsa area was unkempt. First and last time coming here.

Don't walk, run! This place is a hidden gem. The tacos are fresh and made quickly. The green salsa is very flavorful with a big kick. Will definitely be back to try more!

I would give 0 stars if I could, this was our first time ordering from this place and got super excited because we're from Monterrey (hence the name regios). To our surprise tacos were TERRIBLE, Tlaquepaque are mostly fat instead of meat and dripping grease, tacos a vapor don't taste good and also very very greasy, we're super disappointed and unfortunately we won't come back

I'm glad I found this place, I have been here twice now. Ine for breakfast and one for lunch. Everything here are amazing, food and service. I had to wait for the tacos, but wait time is not bad, because everything were made to order. I will always go back here for quick fix of my al pastor tacos!

Is this place open? Went here a week ago and lights were shut off and no one was inside.

Yes it is. The Chinese place is now closed and it is now a street taco place.

Some tables could use a cleaning in between guests, but it was fairly clean. You order your food at the counter and they call you when it is ready. I ordered the grilled steak taco, rotisserie chicken taco and special taco of the week (pork dumpling smash taco). We also ordered the elote and queso to share. The elote was good, but very creamy and a bit heavy. The queso was good but tbh I prefer Torchy's. The grilled steak taco was a bit underwhelming, I wanted it to have more flavor, it just tasted like beef and cheese. The chicken had good flavor and the special weekly taco was enjoyable and interesting, not like any taco I have had before. There is plenty of variety for people including those with dietary restrictions. My friends ordered two tacos each and I was full after 3 tacos so if you are not a big eater stick with two.

We went with their 1 of each taco set that included succulent meats (brisket, chorizo, beef cheek, pork stomach, carnitas, and mushrooms) and topped with classic chopped onions and cilantro, with limes and red and green salsas on the side. We loved each of them and the two salsas were highly complimentary. We washed them all down with cold bottled Coke. Like your girl can eat tacos but I had never been one to be like let's go get some cause I am craving them. But man cuantos tacos can definitely get me saying I want and crave them! I thought prices were pretty fair at 2.75 a piece. After much researchon what to eat in Austin this is one of the spots that I saved as a bookmark. While I was in Austin, a foodie friend on Instagram shared with me her list of recommendations since she just moved to Austin not too long ago. I knew that Ihad to stop by Cuantos Tacos, I mean how often do you see a Michelin BibGourmand taco truck. We came here for dinner but it was cold, sprinkling, anddark out. Tables they had were wet from the sprinkle.  My family only triedthe suadero taco ($2.75 per taco) but OMG it was the best thing we ate duringour trip in Austin. It was super memorable, the meat was soft and the salsaadded the perfect kick to it. It's been a month, my husband and I are still daydreamingabout these tacos.  Tacos are madepretty fast, we had to order tacos 3x since they were so good, we kept wantingmore. Wait time was super reasonable. Staff are nice and if I lived closer Ican see myself coming here every taco Tuesday! This definitely is a must go tospot if you like tacos.   Tips: *Small parking lot *Outdoor seating only *Credit card accepted *Porta Potty in theback (night time it is pretty dark and hard to see) *They cater. *You can also orderonline for pick up. It's a small chain in Austin that started from a food truck of two women from Veracruz. Interestingly enough, the cashew based queso here is the default so people with nut allergies- watch out! I was told it was not made in house by the restaurant and I ended up not trying it. I ended up getting the El Diferente taco, while the women at the counter recommended the Furioso. I chose it because I preferred pinto beans to black beans. I added thier salsas that were creamy and it was delish with poblanos in it. The tacos sounded really simple to me from the descriptions but I ended up really enjoying the one I had for breakfast! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good.
