Cabo Bob's has a brand new location in north austin! I think this spot was the old pei wei - oh how times have changed! Their convenient online ordering system accompanies easy to find curbside pickup locations. They take it a step further to allow for contactless pickup through a text message system. I arrived after the workday and noticed, through their large windows, there was two people inside occupying their space. Classic cabo bob flavors and they've got all their OG set menu items to try. This time around, I got a crispy fish burrito with a cheddar tortilla - not a set menu item. My crispy fish was sort of mushy and not so crispy. Still really tasty though! I especially liked their soft rice. Of course I'm going to back here, as such an Austin burrito institution can't be ignored for long! Maybe I'll stick with tacos, when it comes to crispy fish. read more

Made my first visit to a Cabo Bob's at this location. (I only moved back to Texas nearly 3 years ago after years on the West Coast and didn't know of this local chain.) I went "safe" on my initial visit with chicken tacos (comes as a set of 3). I decided to take a "risk" on the tortillas and tried one of each of the "flavored" flour tortillas: Cilantro Tomatillo, Ancho Chili, & Smoky Cheddar. As I moved through the prep line, I was able to add the additions of my choice. I went with the basics, grilled chicken, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, roja salsa and lime. The tacos were all excellent and it was NOT too much food. At first, I thought I'd take one home with me, but they were delicious and not too filling. Loved the bit of lime juice I was able to squeeze on top. This is not really a negative and I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I could not get any discernible taste difference in the 3 flavors of flour tortillas. I arrived right at the end of the lunch hour and the restaurant was not too busy, but was very clean and organized. It had a very pleasant atmosphere. Austin must be a difficult and busy market for tacos, but I will be back one day to try more items. read more

Cabo Bobs is like Chipotle, but better in every way possible. Period. Let's start from the outside first. Whenever I go to Chipotle, I always get the bowl since it's easier to eat and overall decent. However, you HAVE TO get the burrito at Cabo. They use a special homemade dough that is freshly pressed and had such a nice taste and chewy bite to it. I rave about the wrapping every time. Now let's get to the meat of things (haha get it?). Today my yelp elite friend recommended the crispy fish for the protein, instead of steak or chicken, which is what I usually get. Now let me tell you, I was skeptical of the fish at first since I don't have good experience with fish tacos. HOWEVER, the fish here tastes fresh, and had a nice crunchy bite to the outside, not to mention it was a generous portion. The customization options are also better; I especially like the roasted squash and poblano peppers. There's also the regular toppings like lettuce, beans, rice etc. the final aspect of this burrito is the over 10 sauce options, from a range of mild to super spicy. Overall, it's a very satisfying meal and one of my favorite burrito shops. read more

We were over the moon when we saw there would be a Cabo Bob's at this location. We used to drive to the Ben White location for these burritos and tacos. Then, to the Shoal Creek location when it opened a few years ago. Maybe excessive, but Cabo Bob's officially ruined Chipotle for our family, and we used to like that place a lot. I'm happy to share that this new northern location (which we've been to twice in two weeks) is the best one yet. Same great tacos and burritos (they make the tortillas after you order so they are as fresh as they can be) and friendly service. When we were in the second time, they remembered us and that our son has an egg allergy. I thought that was pretty impressive. read more

Ok so I'm from social and have yet to find good quality "Mexican" food or even a decent burrito, I pass by this place every time I come home from work I looked up the menu before but was skeptical because they didn't have "refried" beans and that's usually the only way I eat my burritos. So today I decided to take a look at the menu and pictures, I seen another customers photo of the chicken burrito and it looked really good , I normally do carne asada burritos but I decided to give it a try. I ordered online and created my own and got damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn it was bussin! I'm mad I didn't try this place sooner , definitely my new favorite spot ! Delicious food! I love the fish tacos, my husband loves the burritos, my kiddos love the quesadillas, and we ALL love the amazing fresh tortilla chips and queso. We are very excited to have a new location closer to home. We have had both dine-in and takeout from this location several times--excellent quality and no errors in our orders. Highly recommend! Always super busy but so good. You can order online and they'll have it out really quickly, but they'll usually forget 1 or 2 ingredients you ask for (not that I blame them, the line is a battlefield). The line is really busy all the time too and you kinda gotta yell over everyone but it's fine, the food is worth it. The fried fish tacos are insane and crispy and good. The steak is really good too. I love Cabo Bobs, however, for their delivery and pickup orders.. they deserve a zero star rating. This is specifically for the 183, Anderson Mill location. I have not ordered delivery/pickup from any of the other locations. And again, im a fan, so i've given this location far more shots than I should have. Multiple orders have been consecutively missing items, sauces, toppings. I have yet to receive a single item actually as ordered. My recommendation is to save yourself the disappointment, go and dine in, or if you want delivery you're better off ordering from literally anywhere else. read more

This place and their customer service is as good as it gets. We went in last night, and as always, the food was delicious, but we didn't even realize we had walked in almost 10 minutes after they closed and were already cleaning up. However, we had no idea because the workers were so kind and took our order as if normal and even asked if we were going to eat there or take it to go. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while and we were not disappointed. So many burrito options, sanitary place and friendly staff. We enjoyed our burritos alongside chips and queso, it was all delicious. My husband had the pork burrito, the pork meat had a mild bbq taste that my husband wasn't expecting. He wasn't a fan of that meat but he tried my chicken from my burrito and loved it. Man, I was impressed with this place. Wife wanted chips and Queso so we stopped in. The tortillas are freshly flattened out and cooked in front of you and the chips are so fresh and crunchy. The tortilla had mold at the bottom, the meat was over cooked, and worst of all the customer service was so terrible. Cabo Bob's is fantastic. Their tacos and burritos are delicious, they have super fresh ingredients and are usually busy when we drop by for good reason. Their order ahead system is super efficient if you want to skip the lines and we love their food. It was our first time coming to this place and we really liked it. Having different flavors of tortillas to choose from is nice and there are plenty of options. The food is delicious and fresh. I chose the #9 Chicken burrito which came with mango pico. Unfortunately I wasn't able to taste it to much, but next time I'll just ask for more to really make the flavor pop. My only real complaint is that some of the rice in my burrito wasn't cooked all the way, but other than that, I loved it. Also, unlike Chipotle's guac, this place's guac doesn't have onions, so if you hate onions like my fiance and have to pick them out of guac, you'll be happy to know you'll be able to eat your chips with guac worry free :) read more

This was first time ever to visit this place for lunch. Had high hopes for my chicken burrito bowl, but was quickly diminished after my first bite. It seemed like everything was drenched in lime juice. Absolutely ruined the flavor of what I was hoping for. Couldn't figure out if it was the guacamole, rice, chicken ect.. all of it had the same lime flavor and at no point did i see a lime squeezed over it. To each their own I guess. I'm giving this location 3.5 starts due to the following: 1) rice is consistently undercooked (as in crunchy) 2) portions are small, especially the kids burritos (they skimp on the meat) 3) they're not familiar with their drink products (we've asked if the beverages contain caffeine and nobody seems to know) 4) burritos end up soggy because of them not straining the beans and/or the brisket 5) The sweet teas are pretty good however some of their soda flavors taste terrible Otherwise, the food tastes good, the staff is efficient and the place is clean. I just wish they were more generous with their ingredients because we've often left still hungry. read more
