I had never had this place on my radar, always opting for Freebirds and Chipotle, but when my coworkers kept going to the Shoal Creek one by our offices, I figured it was time for me to scope it out. My husband and I were wowed at the options, the tortillas made right in front of us, and the friendliest staff ever! The parking situation up at this north location was packed, and the seating was a full house on a Thursday lunch time, but there were outdoor tables too, we'd have sat there if it weren't raining. By far my favorite and the best in their category "fast burrito". You can get tacos, salad, bowls, burrito, fish tacos, etc. and there are several meat options. The food and options always seem to be very fresh. And I enjoy the flavors a bit more than the other competitors, definitely more flavorful. The smoky cheddar tortilla is what I come here for! I also suggest the creams sauce, it's great for those who do not like spicy. People rave about their fish tacos, but I have not tried yet. There are several drink options as well, everything from fresh teas, lemonade, regular sodas and those local cane sugar soda brand sodas. They do have a few dessert items as well. There's plenty of seating inside, and they have outdoor seating for nice days as well. The manager is the kindest person ever #1; he will always be good with me! But the food is top tier for tacos and burritos, Chipotle who!? Lol! I love the fish taco and brisket burrito the most, the fish is tender and moist not over fried and so is the brisket. These are some solid fish tacos. The tortillas are also really tasty. The have many topping options or they have preselected added toppings to your taco combos. They also offer burritos and bowls, but trust me you can't go wrong with the tacos. Chips and queso is a nice add on and get ready be fully satisfied with your meal. The price on the combos are also very fairly priced considering all the increases we have been seeing. Lastly the vibe of this place is awesome! It feels like I'm going to walk out and the beach will be right outside. I think this has to do with the music they play and the decor. Our family intended to go to Texas Roadhouse, but they had a 20-minute wait and my daughter-in-law saw Cabo Bob's and that the reviews were good, so we changed our plans. On entering, you queue up and face a wall of prep folks and ingredients. I went the simplest route and chose the #2, the Deluxe Fish Tacos. The rest of the family ordered by ingredients. First, you pick a tortilla, either flour, ancho chili, cheddar cheese, or tomatillo if I'm remembering correctly. These are placed on a metal tray, and I'm guessing the tortillas were about 12" across, maybe more. From there you pick your meats, rice, beans, veggies - everything you might want to construct the perfect burrito. Soft drinks included Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper, which covered my family. Seating was limited. We sat at a couple of small tables with a bench on one side and chairs on the other. We were able to squeeze in a high chair for the grandson. Overall, the food was great and served quickly. You clean up after yourself, and some of the tables could have used some staff attention. I suspect we'll be back again. read more

I've been coming to Cabo Bob's weekly for over 12 years. It is easily my favorite counter service restaurant. The food here is consistently good and today I got a wonderful surprise. My friends and I went in to get lunch and wondered what kind of fish they used. I asked the manager who said it was tilapia. He offered a sample. I said no thank you (because I don't like talapia). He said it was really good. I still said no. He said it was the best and so I said ok. It was wonderful! Loved it. I told him I originally said no because I don't like tilapia. He explained that there are different grades of tilapia and they use a premium grade. It was clearly different and delicious. Left SoCal 8 years ago and really missed Fish Tacos from Baja. I've tried cooking it myself. Sad to say every time I cooked it something was missing. One day hubby comes home and mentions he met a buddy for dinner at Cabo Bob's and he said I would like it. The following week we drove down and I saw Fish Tacos on the menu and almost tinkled. I did the build your own taco with corn tortilla and fried fish with cabbage and pick de gallo. You get 3 tacos and they don't skimp on the fixings. My first bite and I was in love. It was so good. I wish they were in Round Rock but I don't mind the drive. Next time I'll try a burrito. read more

Very similar to the other Cabo Bob. However I don't think the layout is as good. If you come here at dinner expect a long wait. Think we waited in line for over 30 minutes. We were hoping to eat there but the line took forever and we had to get back home. The bottle neck is the guy making/cooking the tortillas. The guy at this location ( Sean I believe was his name) was was working as fast a possible. Burned him self a few times but kept going. I felt bad for the guy. Apparently the dough needs to sit out too defrost so it cooks right. He wasted quite a few tortillas because they weren't coming out right. I like the idea of a freshly cooked tortilla, however, I think it would be ok to have a few pre cooked for rush times or have another person in the back helping to cook tortillas. Luckily the food is solid. I had a pulled pork salad. My wife has the cilantro tortilla pulled burrito which was great and we got her mom the steak ( very juicy and tender) salad too. Lots of good options for toppings on your taco or burrito or nachos ( depends on what you like) They don't serve beer which kinda bites. Also at this location, when the line backs up to the door, you would have people hovering over you in about 80% of all possible seat locations which kinda bites. read more
