Move out the way Chipotle and Freebirds!!! I've never heard of this place so I don't know if it's considered a hidden gem or not. Imagine Chipotle or Freebirds but with 5x flavor, unique options, and 2x the amount of food for much less. They have different flavor tortillas that are pressed and grilled fresh right in front of you. They have unique protein choices such as brisket and fish! Also vegan options. Other choices includes their mango pico de gallo. They have unique drink choices including in-house sodas. Service is great. Went during lunch with a massive line that moved really fast. It's a must! They also have a punch card rewards system. 6 punches equal a free entree or t-shirt.

I came across Cabo Bob's on TikTok and am sooooooo happy I finally got to try it. I ordered a Kids Meal Brisket Quesadilla and Single Chicken Taco and I enjoyed it! The Kids Quesadilla was perfect size for myself. I chose the buttermilk flour tortilla, and added brisket, pico de gallo and cilantro inside. I would've given my review 5 stars if it wasn't for the brisket. While the quesadilla itself was good the brisket was a miss. I was expecting more of a smoked brisket, but instead it was more like a pot roast. I wanted the brisket to have more of a char instead of sitting in juice, but now I know! The chips and queso were delicious! Those tortilla chips are perfect. They are thick and salted and paired well with the creamy and flavorful queso! The kids meal also came with a drink and I got the sweet mint tea, so delicious. If you've ever been to Mia's Table and have tried their sweet tea it's very similar. A blend of sweet tea, lemons and mint! Onto the single chicken taco, I chose the cilantro tomatillo tortilla with chicken, grilled onions, poblanos, white cheese and cilantro. That chicken was the star of the show. It was tender, seasoned and all white meat which is hard to find at many places! I really enjoyed the flavor of this tortilla too but I can say that the tortillas tend to get soggy extremely fast so i'd suggest eating it right then and there or if you get a burrito maybe grill it at home. Overall, I can't wait to return, try new items and hope that I can update this review with 5 stars! I wish they had more locations!

Honestly. This blow chipotle out of the water. Super reasonable price, we ordered the fried fish for the bowl and burrito. The fact thst this has mango pico de gallo and fried fish is incredible. The freshly made tortilla flavored with jalapeño and cheese is grandioso

Many salsa choices. I got the spicy jalapeno. The crema actually came with my fish tacos.

I suggested Cabo Bobs after a day of shopping with my mom and sisters. They ordered fish tacos, nachos and burrito bowls. I ordered the Baja fish tacos. Also ordered to go, the steak tacos and a steak burrito bowl. The Baja fish tacos were good. The only thing is there is no seasoning on the fish. Add seasoning and salsas and they are perfect. You get 2 large pieces of fish per taco. The queso and chips were basic, nothing exciting. I love the portion sizes here, the prices and the variety of options. You can get 3 different proteins if you want. They also have a variety of teas and lemonade which sets it apart as well.

First and foremost we love Cabo Bob's. From their sweet mint tea to bowls and burritos and our new found love the Churro Blondie. My personal fav is the fish, but I also love that they have sautéed squash and zucchini. Tonight's bowl included fresh made guac, queso, steak, zucchini/squash, brown rice, and black beans. Their sauces are delicious and definitely one for everyone. We have frequented this location including the one in town, as well. The manager/owner was very friendly and insightful. Staff was friendly. The restaurant is welcoming, clean, and fun. Don't forget to ask for your punch card. One punch per entree redeemable upon completion for an entree. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.

I ordered the steak nachos. The beef was chunky & extremely tough. My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos, fish was crispy but dry!

Why 2 stars? Because I couldn't even finish my burrito. --- --- --- I really hate writing negative reviews and I don't do it often, but I have no choice here. I was driving through this area and spent about 30 minutes analyzing where I'd grab dinner. I eventually settled on Cabo Bobs because the brisket and queso burrito sounded like the heaven. I was even happier to see that there was a drive-thru because my son had fallen asleep in the car while we were driving here. So I got my burrito and then had to grab some gas next door. While the gas was pumping, I couldn't wait and decided to dig into my burrito right away. Each bite somehow got worse. The brisket tasted like the cheapest chuck meat you'd find at Walmart. There were weird peppers in it. The beans were gross. I kept getting a whiff of cleaning solution. As I was forcing it down, I asked myself: "Why? Why are you making yourself eat this?" I always finish my food, even if I don't love it. But logic won out. I ate about 60-70% of it and then decided to toss it. I was hungry later, but that was better than wasting calories on something I didn't like at all. I save 1-star reviews of restaurants for situations where I hate the food and experience bad service. The drive-thru service was slow but polite. That's really the only reason for the 2nd star because this was the worst meal I've experienced in 2024 so far.

This was a fun experience! We actually enjoyed our time here. There was not a long line and we were truly surprised to see a huge selection of menu. First you have to choose your tortilla and they all taste good. I had the 3 fish tacos. It case with 3 different types of tortillas and they were all good. The fish was crunchy and tastes good and fresh. I can say this. If you haven't tried Cabo Bob's do visit them and give them a try. You will enjoy the laid back atmosphere. The table has a map of places you can pick your next vacation to. The tv displays most activities indoors and outdoors to great adventures. It is great for groups and family I recommend this place to everyone!

Cabo Bob's Burritos is definitely a gem of a Yelp finds! The parking lot was packed when I arrived - good sign #1. I heard several different individuals talking about how much they love the food at Cabo Bob's and make plans to stop in almost every weekend - good sign #2. Fresh made tortillas - good sign #3. I ate for less than $10 - bonus! This is somewhat like a Chipotle style "fast food" eatery. Service was very good, and the staff was helpful if you weren't sure what to choose to add to your protein source. Atmosphere is laid-back back beachy vibe with good music playing. There are also several tvs situated in the dining area, making it inviting to hang for a while after eating. The food was excellently prepared, and the price point was more than reasonable for the portion size and food quality. People, make Cabo Bob's a go-to if you are in close proximity!

Arrived on Sunday evening around 7:30. Was sat immediately. Not my first time here so I knew the menu, my friends did not. So they needed time to see what drinks they wanted because they like cocktails and the menu is not small and they had to choose which ones they wanted because the options are good. When they decided, the cocktails straggled out. Two came out but the other two did not, They just sat at the bar as my friends sat with there with their drinks in front of them waiting on ours so we can toast to a wonderful day with a new member of the group. You would have thought the other staff would step in or at least the bartender would see that the waiter was in the weeds and needed help. That's when I knew we should have not come. The food was all lukw warm. The appetizer of queso was like warm with chunks of cheese floating around and some of the chips were fresh and others stale. A mixed bag you can say. My Flautas where luke warm, so was the side of beans and rice. My friends said their tacos were okay. My friend who got the Caesar Salad, there was no dressing on the salad not was there a side of dressing that came with it. We had to ask for it. I did not have the energy to try to keep wrangling the waiter. If you want to shut the kitchen down early because the day was long I get it. Let the customer know, I get it. I used to wait tables to but I would never give people luke warm food or luke service. The staff seems not to have one anothers back. I did not eat my food, I took my food home to reheat it so I could eat it at the proper temperature. My friend took his salad home because he had more Caesar dressing at home. Left a bad taste in my mouth and very disappointed. The service and food from the last time compared to this visit was night and day. Total miss. $200.00 thrown away. I paid because I could not let my friends waiste there money on someplace I raved about. Maderas is really a small cute spot. It's rare I have bad service when I go out to eat because I am not a difficult customer and I know I am not the only one they are serving. I will wait for good food and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and my friends until it arrives. I would not put pressure on the staff or the kitchen. Also I will not arrive just before closing and make a resteraunt and it's staff stay open late because I am hungry. I rather come when the staff and the restaurant wants to recieve customers.

At brunch, the papas bravas come as small cubes of fried potato with an airy crunch that gives way to a soft, pillowy center - the kind of deeply satisfying bite that makes conversation briefly irrelevant. Crisp prosciutto adds salt, aioli brings richness, and smoky chile sauce keeps it lively. They're served with cactus-handled toothpicks, which are almost offensively adorable. The chilaquiles divorciados are another hit. The chips are dressed with salsa rather than drowned beneath it, so each one arrives ready for the perfect bite. It's a small distinction, but an important one. Then there are the enfrijoladas: rolled quesadillas in fluffy tortillas, covered in creamy black bean sauce and plated with more care than bean and cheese might seem to warrant. The dish is fundamentally simple, but that's the point. Soft tortilla, savory beans, melted cheese, bright salsa. Familiar ingredients transformed into something deeply comforting--the culinary equivalent of curling up beneath a warm blanket on a cold morning, even if Houston rarely provides one. Dinner shifts into another gear. The crudos are sensational, especially the tuna tiradito - a rolling wave of flavor and texture. The tacos are excellent across the board, but the crispy maitake mushrooms are unmatched. The short ribs arrive juicy and tender on a mole negro that doesn't sit politely in the background. It lands dark, complex, and full of flavor. And then there's the masa cornbread, a masterpiece of unapologetic indulgence. Humble cornbread meets savory-sweet mole, smoky, earthy butter, and caviar. It sounds like too much. It isn't. Every element earns its place. The cocktails deserve their own warning. They're the kind that convince you to keep ordering the same drink all night. By the end, you may have forgotten what was in it. What you'll remember is that it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and exactly what you needed. The experience started poorly with the valet attendants, whom we found to be rude, dismissive, and very unprofessional. It was such an unpleasant first impression that my wife and I mentioned it to the hostess when we went inside. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The hostess seemed completely unconcerned about our experience and simply informed us that the wait for a table was approximately two hours. While deciding whether our party should wait or go elsewhere, I went to the bar to order a drink. After ordering, the bartender told me that if I was only having a drink, I needed to move. Apparently, sitting at the bar required ordering a meal. At that point, we had experienced enough. Between the unpleasant valet experience, the indifferent response at the hostess stand, the two-hour wait, and then being told I couldn't sit at the bar simply to have a drink while we decided what to do, the overall message was clear: we did not feel welcome here. My wife, the rest of our party, and I decided to leave and have dinner elsewhere. A busy restaurant is understandable. A long wait is understandable. What is much harder to understand is making prospective customers feel unwelcome at nearly every point of contact. Needless to say, this was an exceptionally disappointing experience, and we will not be returning.

What better way to kick off a Texas trip than getting some highly-regarded tex-mex! Some coworkers…read morerecommended this spot to me so I had to try! It's in the Museum District/Montrose area, so pretty accessible and with plenty of parking. We got seated immediately, and there was a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, the latter of which was great even on a humid day. The menu was pretty extensive with your Tex-Mex classics like fajitas and enchiladas, with a special for every day of the week. This time was a free upgrade to a large fajita, so I went with the chicken fajitas! It came out after about 20 minutes with all of the fixings and this very yummy buttery sauce. I haven't had too many fajitas, but I'm pretty confident this is a top spot!

Houston has some of the greatest Mexican food in the world, and for me Tex-Mex never compares. But of course it is beloved by some Houstonians, plenty of Texans and lots of tourists, and as far as Tex Mex goes, Candente (where I've only eaten 3 times) is around average. A little higher priced and higher end than some of the busier and more well known local chains, but similar in quality and bland taste. The Fajitas are my fave thing on the menu, but nothing to write home about. The reason I took off a star (was going to give 3) is because of some personal issues I have with them. When picking up an order here, you get a notification to say, come to the store. That happens to me when I pick up take out in a lot of places, these days, and when I do, it is either ready, or it takes 5 more min or 10 more min (because they mark it ready when it is not. Generally I'm okay with it, if it's less than 10 min. Candente? 20 min or 30 min. Even when it's not busy. They'll mark orders as ready (to make themselves look efficient I imagine) even when they are completely dead, and then will not actually start cooking the order until you get there to pick it up (I know, because I see people come in at the same time I'm there to pick up, order a similar thing, and 20-30 min theirs and mine comes out at a similar time). So just frustrating, is all. The owner is a Texan guy from Kingwood, he also owns the Pit Room BBQ nearby, which is similarly very fancy and successful. Don't let my bad experiences here put you off from trying it. If you want a list of real Mexican gems (and mostly dirt cheap), ask me, but you won't find any Tex Mex on there at all, to be honest. Just not my thing, in the same way that I think American Chinese take away has nothing on Chinese Chinese, such as Sichuan or Xi'an or Hunan cooking.
