Loved eating with a view of the water and the 2 man band playing was really good. The food was just okay. Fried pickles were swimming in grease and tasted like old oil, or maybe fried shrimp oil... something was off. The guys said the wings were really good. Definitely your typical bar food. read more

On the whole quite charming. The deck is beautiful on a cool night, and the regulars seem to be a friendly bunch. Service is prompt and friendly, but what's frustrating is the drinks are not mixed as strongly as they should be for what you're paying. Overall, would likely come back. Staff is rude, especially the female bar tender. Not sure what her issues was but the little manager backed her up even though she clearly added drinks to out tab and got mad when we confronted her. To make maker worse staff never checked on us and never came to our outside table even though I spoke directly with the waitress twice and requested her to clean our table and bring us menus so we could order food. My friend had to walk to the bar twice because they chose not to service us. This occurred at approximately 5 pm on Saturday 9/26/20. I honestly don't know how this place is even still in business. The workers are rude, the bouncers walk around like they own the place. I had the displeasure of spending my night here and I tell you I will never be back, drinks aren't good and every worker has an attitude for some reason and that's if you can even get it the door man will stop you and take 10 minutes of your time letting you in all for his own little laugh. This place was... interesting. I love trying new places with a seaside view whenever I'm in the area, but I'm not sure I'll return to Cabo. My girlfriend and I stopped by on a Friday evening. As we drove through the parking lot in search of a space, a pickup truck came at us full speed in a one-way area with only room for a single car. I stopped to avoid an accident and this truck kept coming at us, even accelerating. I honked but he didn't slow down or stop. I had to put my car into reverse and back up through the crowded packing lot while this guy came straight at me at high speed. I seriously would have been hit if I hadn't backed up quickly enough. After the guy in the truck parked, I noticed that him and his friend couldn't have been older than 16 and they were both very drunk. To Cabo's credit, the bouncer did turn these drunk kids away, and people we talked to seemed genuinely surprised about the whole thing, but it gave us a bad first impression. Once we were inside, we ordered some food at the bar. The fish tacos were ok but nothing special. The TVs were all broken and the Astros were playing the Yankees in a pre World Series game, and the patrons didn't seem thrilled. They said over the intercom that there was a Comcast outage, but I could see TVs working just fine at the bar next door. The baseball fans seemed genuinely pissed off while they stared at their phones. It was so loud that the bartender could barely communicate with me what beers they had on tap and people were smoking inside. One redeeming feature of the place was a huge patio out back with a nice view of the bay, however there are plenty of other places with similar setups that are much more pleasant. Next time I am in clear lake, I think I'll try something different. Cabo did have an nice view, but overall it didn't have enough to bring me back. read more

Fantastic beach bar downstairs, cool sports bar atmosphere upstairs. One of the best places in town to just sit back and relax. I think it might be the only place in Clear Lake with fireplace. And if you are hungry the food is fantastic. My favorite's include the fish tacos, steaks, and crawfish. If you love a great view than you found the perfect place overlooking Clear Lake. I almost forgot Monday nights at Cabo you can get the best chicken wings in town. read more

I totally agree with the earlier reviews about the lack of service at Cabos. I've been a resident of Seabrook for about 5 years. Cabo's is the closest place to me and was my favorite go to spot for a great view, cold beer and, on Tuesdays, tacos. They also had a great steak night at one time. The service was good but has just gotten terrible. I would self seat, wait ~10 minutes and finally have to go to the bar to order. If I needed anything else, it was another trip to the bar. Same when it was time to cash out with another trip to the bar. This has happened numerous times now. I've decided to give up on Cabo. It turns out that there are many other places, with much better service, that like will take my dollars like Cabo used to do. Even if it means a trip OTB. Until I hear that service has improved, adios Cabo. read more

We all thought this place was great. Awesome service, great food and drinks, windows and deck overlooking the water, a pool table and other games, a space for bands to play, good music, a big fireplace with seating area, outdoor heaters, nice lighting, clean bathrooms. The only thing they didn't have was happy hour food and the liqueur to make me my favorite - pomegranate martini. So I went with a stand by that they could make and it was good. We were just there for dinner and drinks so didn't stay for the band but I'd like to go back and listen to a band someday. read more

I never wrote reviews but, my experience was so poor this deserves one. If I could give this bar negative stars it would have them. The manager "Barry" is beyond disrespectful. If you like drinks thrown in your face because "you're taking to long" moving away from the crowded bar where you're trying to carry multiple drinks then this is the place for you. If you want to order a drink that you will never get then get screamed at and kicked out because the bartender has anger issues then this is the place for you. If you then try to speak to Barry (again who is supposed to be a manger) about the bartender and you, a paying customer, want to be slandered, spoken to like an adolescent, and then told "I have better things to do than listen to your complaints" and have him walk off then please visit this poorly managed establishment. I'm a bit apprehensive about giving Cabo 5 stars because I'm sure there are people with plenty of complaints just like they would at any bar/club. So because it's not a consensus pick as an elite waterfront drinkery, I will give it 4 stars. I, however, have always had a great time, never spent a ton of money, and really enjoy the late night tacos, as does my wife. During the afternoon I think it's one of the (if not THE) best spots to hang out on Clear Lake in terms of atmosphere and view. At night it's a great party spot with different sectors depending on what time of atmosphere you prefer. Check it out for yourself! read more

I've been to Cabo in many occasions. Like many restaurants, they don't have enough staff. Most of the time my family would order a meal and I would order there flautas. - they started off amazing. Recently first they stopped putting avocado on top. Then the next time I went about two weeks ago they raise the price four dollars, did not include avocado on top, also it look like they were day-old the chicken was dark brown like over cooked and reheated. when I asked for the avocado and why it wasn't on top, the server said she didn't know and didn't go bother to go back and get some. The only reason I would go back at this point is for crawfish day. Bartender seem attentive. I am a local and very disappointed and have brought up the concern on both times first why didn't have avocado in my first flautas at the original price, then, three weeks later, the price of changed, and the food was not acceptable. read more

Hmmmm... I don't know, y'all. My boyfriend and I came here this past Friday night with the intentions on having a good time. I'm not saying that we had a bad time, but, however, we didn't leave feeling like we wanted to come back over and over. For starters, this is a smoker's bar. I didn't know that and actually, had I known, we probably wouldn't have came in the first place. Since I never really venture out into Seabrook, I thought we'd change it up. We came around 8, before the dj arrives, and it wasn't really full. We went to the bar and was greeted by a very friendly male bartender and later, a friendly female bartender. Props to them!! During the night, we had a few cordial regulars talk to us, including an older retired navy jet fighter pilot who bought us drinks, but the manger did not speak nor smile once at us. Being the only black people in the bar at the time, I felt it was inappropriate to not make us feel welcomed. He looked our way several times, but didn't not ask if everything was ok or anything. Thankfully, the bartenders and the nice patrons saved this review from being a single star rating. read more

The man friend and I usually go down to Kemah on nice nights to eat by the water. We wanted to try something different and picked this place. Overall, nothing special. Except, their patio is dog-friendly. The water view is boring and the sunset is blocked by a bunch of trees. We had draft beer so don't really have anything to say about their drinks since you can't really mess beer up. The food is OK. Something similar to like airport quality. This is a review of Cabo's after we were ignored at Cabo's this afternoon(9/8/22). Apparently the management and servers have a problem with black customers. The owner tried to BS his way in the reply, to which I corrected him on the facts. Treat it however you will. Although my group(6 people) was the first ones on the patio, we could not get a server to wait our table for 2 hours. Other groups who came on patio after us got servers, Complaints to management did not resolve the problem. Apparently being the only group of color on the patio, a decision was made not to serve us, We were told by one waitress that we had to go to the bar to order food and drinks but we noticed the other tables(Caucasian groups) were ordering with their server. Whereas my group has been to Cabo's before and and gotten great service, apparently the current management does not want people of color to patronize his business.s My group decided to go elsewhere to celebrate a birthday. We do not plan on going back and will inform our friends verbally and on our blog to avoid this place. The owners response - Response from the owner an hour ago Hello Mr. Ned, I have looked into this situation hoping to find a reasonable answer as to what happened so I can better approach your message. I was told that your group arrived around 3:30 which mostly explains what happened afterwards. Our servers do not start taking tables on the floor until 5:00 pm. I have verified the times on the camera footage. By the time the servers arrived to work, set up their areas and begin taking tables your group was mostly finished. Unfortunately, we do not allow any group to have open tabs with alcohol on them with multiple staff members. This is so that we are able to ensure we are following proper TABC serving protocols. The server you spoke with said she explained they cannot serve your group with an open check already in existence. If this was properly explained then I apologize. I was also informed that the conversation that was had with the manager was how a drink was rung up, which the bartender informed me was corrected. I am sorry to hear that so much confusion has caused you and your party to feel put off but I assure you that the color of anyones skin has no regard to the level of service that anyone gets. My reply to the reply To the Cabo's owner, I call out you have been given wrong information. Between 5pm and 6pm there were 3 of us, including myself, who did not have a tab open at the bar. When I came in at 4:15pm, I paid cash for my drink. So did the other two. I had not ordered a steak or any food and was waiting to do so. Other tables had a server around 4:45pm. So you are saying that a group of customers would not have any server to check to see if we needed anything because maybe 2 might have a tab at the bar. The only time a person came to the table was after we decided we were not going to be able to order was to pickup dirty plates from 2 who ordered their steak from the bar before the waitresses got there. Anyway if that's the way you want to look at it, fine. My friends and I have other places we can go on Thursday, get a good steak and have a good time. read more

This place.... is confusing. My high school reunion was moved here due to low ticket sales at another venue. The place was titled in the invite, "Cabo (formerly Club Classic)". There is definitely shock factor because when you drive-up, the building that says "Classic Cafe" is the building in the forefront and it looks like a shack with a statue of a pelican greeting you. I thought, "Dear Lord... no wonder it was the FORMER Club Classic." But really, it's not the right place. Cabo is in the back by the water. Note that the side entrance that takes you directly the the patio isn't necessarily the safest, especially if you're already drunk or you are wearing stilettos/pumps. My heels got stuck in the wood AND THERE WAS NO HANDRAIL so I almost fell into the water. omg. Just take the main entrance. More shock value: YOU CAN SMOKE INSIDE. Wth?! Apparently the anti-smoking ban is not effective in Seabrook. The crowd: So confusing. There was a mix of 40+ something men and women -- the men wearing polos & jeans; women showing off their tattoos and tans in their camisoles, accented with bleach blond hair. Then there were the late 20-30 somethings scattered about. I even saw a baby at the bar.?!!? There's a band that likes to cover Sublime. In between band sets, they place a hodge podge of danceable music including "The Cupid Shuffle" and "Wobble" slide. Again.. CONFUSING! The wait staff is haphazard. Young 20s and don't give a shizz (prob because they are overworked). Double check your bill and if it's wrong, maybe it'll be corrected 30 minutes later when they finally get back to you. Cabo is interesting. A mix of all ages from twenty-somethings to fifties. Great place to meet up with a group of friends for a casual night out to enjoy a few drinks and people watch. The bartenders are typically nice, and attentive. The music is usually decent. If you're looking for your one and only true love, this place probably isn't for you. read more

Hey, it looks like yelp fixed the box! Okay so this is like a throwback to what I remember clubs being like in the 90s. It's a little divey/rowdy with a local crowd, but without the drama and constant parking lot fights. So you go up the stairs up front, come in, and it's dark and a little dingy, but just enough to keep you interested. You might see some dude at the bar with a huge bird on his shoulder (seriously, wtf?) or some band playing at an eardrum-rupturing sound level. Look close at the floor. Most of it is still a nice hardwood dance floor, though I'm sure it's been abused. The best part of course is that it's on the water. You can come in a car or a boat... Well I guess you could swim too, but I've never seen it. Any way, they have slips on the water on the lower floor. Boat up and hop out. Downstairs is open air but covered. There's sand, swings, picnic tables, and a bar. You can head up the stairs around the side and you come to the best part. There's a huge balcony overlooking the lake. They have token bar games like giant jenga and hook and loop. I can't handle the club scene all the time, but cabo is a solid choice for a mild summer night. read more

I was basically not let in because I asked if someone in the handicap parking was leaving. They told me there was no handicap parking or it was full. We had been with a friend who recently had a stroke and Were not let because of it. Zero stars trashy bar not taking care of Handicapped people. They did not let my friend in because she slurred her words. She slurred her words because she had a stroke not because she was drunk or had been drinking but they didn't ask the situation. Flashback to college. Holy crap, it was like walking back in time. A divey bar with bumpin' music and cheap-ish drinks (ya get what ya pay for, so they aren't super strong). The DJ was good and kept the up-beat, dance-able songs coming. With not a ton of options in the area with a "rowdy club" vibe. If you are looking for an upscale bar, this is not going to be your next destination. If you are looking for a dive bar with great views of the water and cold beer from attentive servers- Cabo Clear Lake is perfect. We didn't try the food- honestly I was a little afraid to (and I don't usually consider myself such a snob). I will say that other people seemed to be enjoying their meals, e.g. people were eating, laughing and talking...and no one was hurling over the siderail. I am usually a draught beer kind of girl but we stuck with bottles and cans to stay on the safe side. The inside had a certain smell to it that wasn't exactly appealing, but I'm not letting this unfortunate fact affect my rating because I am sure that I too have smelled bad at some point in my life. Plus, we remedied the nasal issue by walking out through the door you have to kick to open (totally authenticates the divey nature!) leading to the deck. The water view is slightly tainted by big white signs that inform you not to throw your cigarettes overboard but the cute little christmas lights attempt to make up for that. There are also multiple ashtrays on every table. I'm no detective, but I think this means it's a popular place to smoke. I get the feeling this is a popular place for locals, but as outsiders we felt welcome and we met our goal- which was simply to find a bar on the water where we could drink a beer or two. read more

This bar over pours and will serve college girls until they are so plastered they can barely walk. No concern for safety whatsoever. I left to pick up a friend and within the literally 30 mins I was gone, my two girlfriends went from one drink in sober to so unbelievably drunk, as I previously described. They could barely walk and they were still being served. I had to tell the bartender to stop serving them because they didn't seem to have any intent to stop serving as I was trying to get my friends to leave with me. The place isn't that big, but the bartenders didn't care at all to keep an eye out for anyone's safety. I felt that if I hadn't come back to pick them up they would've ended up on the floor within the hour and who knows what else could've occurred. The "bouncer" just stands outside all night chatting up friends. Basically just a parking lot attendant. Very much a dive bar. read more

I'm not much on the bar scene, but the ribeye steak on "steak night" was truly an unbelievable experience. They took a while to deliver, but it was definitely worth the wait. This was my second time there...both times, good steaks. Not much to say. Lack luster drinks and poor service. Couldn't find a good thing to say about the cleanliness either. Those in our group that got burgers got a decent deal. They didn't have 2 of the items that were ordered, so we settled with our 2nd choices. Please don't waste your time with the blackened fish tacos. I didn't know that a cook not trained as a sushi chef could cut pieces of fish that small nor would dare to call it a taco.
