Not saying this place isn't classy!!

We went to Sammy G's just before HH ended (6:00). It certainly had a dive atmosphere; very loud--music and people! There were not a lot of 20-30 year olds, but a lot over 55ish. My husband and I are a lot older. We opted for an appetizer of Fried pickles and jalapeño. Plus a nice cold beer; Tiki that was very good. It was our servers first day and she did a great job. Not for us; we will not be back.

Shrimp tacos were very well dressed with fresh jalapeño in the slaw and came out timely once ordered 5/5. Service was slow and it took awhile to put food in but there were only 2 servers including the bartender. Plenty of TV's, nice and cool inside.

First time at Sammy G's. The food was good, service was amazing! Best of all the atmosphere is relaxing enough so you can show up after a day on your boat! We loved how casual and relaxed the place felt!

The food is AMAZING!! The views are so pretty when you sit outside and the food is spectacular. Please eat here if you have the chance!! The prices for food are very reasonable. Ambiance: There is inside and outdoor seating. We sat outside to see the view of the water and many boats passing. If it gets too hot, theres umbrellas. There is also live music downstairs which was super cool. The service is great! Blackened salmon: The salmon was a great portion. The flavor on it was amazing and it was a great sized filet. The fries were also so good! It was a unique shape and it was flavorful. Although, I would not recommend getting the mac and cheese. It wasn't very cheesy and it didnt really taste like classic mac and cheese. Steak w/ crab meat: The crab meat on top was such a nice touch and so flavorful! The steak was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The seasoned rise was also so good and a little spicy.

Great Food! Service was on point as always and the Ambiance is so much fun. Sammy G's is the place for some yummy Fish Tacos and Ceviche! Thats what was on our menu today! All was delicious. It's so nice to enjoy a good meal for Lunch by the water. Forks up Sammy G's. I'll be back!

Friendly staff, plus owner introduced himself and was friendly. Fried Shrimp and Fish were 10/10 giant shrimp , flakey white fish , breaded to perfection. Zach our waiter was attentive and patient and kind. Onion rings and all the sides were excellent. I would stay away from the steak, considering its primarily targeted for seafood. I should have known. Cool atmosphere, live music under restaurant

I dined here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, even though it was a bit different than usual. It was cold outside, but the interior was nice and warm, which was a definite plus. Since it was a slow night for an 8 PM in the middle of the week, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helped us with our drinks right away. Other patrons, who seemed to be regulars, greeted us and made us feel like we belonged there. It became a bit tricky when the bartender took our order, as she had to check with the chef regarding the availability of certain fish. This made it clear that the items they offered were fresh. A few minutes later, the chef called her back to explain that they didn't have some of the sides we requested. She returned to inform us that their menu was changing, so we chose different sides. Once we received our food, it was apparent why they had limited menu options--the quality was outstanding. All of our dishes were made in-house and very fresh. My husband opted for the ribeye, which was so tender that he was able to cut it with just a butter knife. I had the seared cod, and it was excellent. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be back. One other plus was we were told they just hired someone to make in-house desserts! This place is a gem.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. All the food was great and service was outstanding! We ordered the Shrimp Zaza for the kids and couldn't stop eating them ourselves. Sammy G's will definitely be a stop next time we're in the area.

First of all. They aren't sure what time they open. Breakfast menu says 9am and Yelp says open but no one knew when we showed up. Don't do the egg scramble. It was more of a pile of potatoes with a bit of eggs. And they don't have jelly so don't get toast. The only reason they got 3 stars is the Soft Shell BLT was great. They need to skip the breakfast and stick with other items

It's truly such a good spot for pizza and pasta and reminds of me of Jupiter & Pizza Waffles in Sugar Land in terms of atmosphere and vibe. They have plenty of unique options for pizza which I really look forward to trying them all. They also have some other unique menu items too. If I lived closer here, I'd definitely be visiting more often. We had the pickle pizza with pepperoni added on it as well as the totally baked Bolognese. Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the pizza is always as good as I remember it. I had the Bolognese for the first time this visit and it was delicious. A little on the heavy side but it's meaty and creamy with the cheese. Their house-made ranch is something else, I'm more of a bleu cheese guy but my girlfriend likes ranch better so we got that but I gotta say that ranch is reallyyyy good so I'd recommend trying that with your pizza too. Service is fast, you can choose to sit anywhere when you walk in. They get to you fairly quickly. I forget everything else I had in the past, but the service and food never disappoint!

Part…read moreof the Pappas family of restaurant, this is their high end, elevated bbq stop that takes bbq and steaks to a new level. For starters, their HRW dinner menu sits at the low end price wise with a $40 option. Sure you can upgrade to a better steak but you can land a filet mignon on the $40 menu. Appetizers offered include a salad, a queso with sausage and chips and a boudin link. We sampled all. And because I love pork belly added their sticky pork belly appetizer to the table. First off, they don't skimp on the HRW portions. The waitress was clear that the boudin only had one link but it's was more than enough with the seasoned crackers, pickled onions and stone mustard. The queso features beef sausage and homemade chips. And the pig cubes are magic. Sticky and perfectly cooked. Mains too are well executed and plentiful. The steak eaters smiled big and those of us who opted for the triple bbq option were floored by the big ribs and the two additional meats that filled the plate. And than add 2 sides (bring an empty belly and plan on leftovers. Dessert is stunning as well. The cheesecake was light and fresh and the pecan cobbler an artistic delight. Shout out to the management who stopped at the table to discuss allergy precautions staff would take to protect a member of our party and to our super waitress Malaysia who handled our party with humor and kindness. She had a great handle on the menu and continually brought us containers for leftovers. The restaurant itself is relaxed but well appointed in the style you expect from Pappas. Run people!

I forgot her name but she did a great job with a big group of 16; she was really on top of it. Manger came by twice to check and thank us for coming! It seemed a little awkward how long he hung out, because my party was not paying attention to him, I think I was the only one making eye contact. My SIL said this placed closed for a bit and reopened so I'm assuming that's why he was so enthused to see us! They do have a lot of screens & accommodated us on our college of choice game on the TV closest to our table. But it wasn't busy there for a Saturday night by any means. She was very kind and patient with my husbands grandma who mis-ordered what she wanted Ok so to the food....it was just ok for me! I would return if invited, but not a place I would seek out. It's typical bar food. The Margarita was not great for the price $15. Normally I would have 2-3 but I stopped after one. We ordered a Sampler platter - online it says NACHOS, wings, cheese sticks, and o-rings. But when you get there it's SW Eggrolls instead of nachos. Which was fine. But we just thought the boneless wings were alright.... wouldn't go there specially for the wings, the cheese sticks had good cheese pull, but the egg rolls seemed emptier than I was used to like frozen Cisco food. I ordered the Taco Salad had to pay extra to add a meat (odd but ok). Went with Ground beef - it had a good flavor, but mushy pasty texture not typical taco meat. I'm not sure how to explain it....like the was so tiny pieces of meat.... anyways...the refried beans at the bottom were super runny. And the presentation just wasn't great. I ate some of the guacamole with my BIL's nachos and they were just alright also. We walked out of there with 3 people (one was a kid) with a $109 tab - with only 1 alcoholic beverage on it... a little pricey we thought for the quality/amount received. I think it could be a cool place to hang out and watch the games...but it's going to take some menu revamping... Suggestion: Maybe host a watch party? Again our waitress was awesome! Manager seemed genuinely appreciative of our family choosing to celebrate a birthday there...the food just didn't do it for me.

While randomly Googling, I remembered Boondoggles and decided to give the 'old place' another try. My first visit was for a dinner with classmates from UHCL; my second was with my brother. The eatery looked practically the same as it did nearly eight years ago. Its dive bar meets German beer hall vibe is still very much alive, and the place was still bustling with people. I came in with fish and chips on my mind, but a lengthy scan of the menu led me to the Florentini Chicken, while my brother ordered the shrimp po-boy. The Florentini Chicken was really good, and I think it's a solid choice for the health-conscious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly crisp. My only wish was that the entire dish had been a bit larger, as the mashed potatoes were gone in just a few spoonfuls. On reflection, while the Florentini Chicken deserves a try, I'll probably stick with pizza next time. I asked my brother how he liked his shrimp po-boy, and he had no complaints, so I'll take that as a sign he enjoyed it. Price-wise, while the costs may have risen over the years, they were not unreasonable.

Served over a bed of sauteed serrano slaw (which was amazing, I usually don't like slaw), this delightful concoction was stuffed with cream cheese spinach artichoke and cream cheese with a balsamic glaze over the top. It comes with very good mashed potatoes. I don't like most restaurants potatoes, so that's a bonus win. Really enjoyed, would get it again. The beer! They have a really good menu that rotates.
