This gem is in town in Johnson City, and if you're ever in Johnson City, you NEED to stop here! Both times I've been the place had many full tables, and it's easy to understand why! Their food is out of this world! A return home had me and my family deciding on Cacciatores for dinner. Ambiance: Busy Friday night. Crowded and they were still able to get 7 of us to a table. Service was fantastic. I believe she said her name was Sam (samantha??) Water glasses never got dry and she was quick with refills on the specialty drinks. Food came out as expected. Food: With so many good Italian spots in and around the Triple Cities, Why Cacciatores? The FOOD. On this particular occasion, I had the veal parm. Absolute perfection. Not overly breaded, not fried to within an inch of its life. The sauce added to the flavor and did not overpower the cutlet. If someone wants to complain, it would be about the parking situation. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful, but the problem with going to Cacciatores is the lack of parking spaces and the size of the lot can be frustrating when looking for a spot. My husband and I went to park in the parking lot and some woman was standing in a parking spot to save the spot for her family or friend. (Very dangerous) She easily could have been hurt or caused a confrontation to someone who may have thought what she was doing was wrong and wanted that spot. She also caused some traffic to stop because other people were looking at that spot. We moved on to look for another spot, but someone else may not be so understanding. My husband and I decided to visit Cacciatores for the first time on a Saturday. We arrived right at 4 PM when they open, they unlocked the door, and we were the first people through the door. The hostess led us through the EMPTY dining room to the bar dining area and sat us at a table under a very large and loud wall mounted heater (which unfortunately drew my eyes to a large stain in the ceiling). We were served bread which was delicious, but it was warm on the outside and cold in the center. The butter packets served with the bread were rock hard, so spreading it on the bread wasn't an option. The selection for beer was sub-par, don't expect craft brews here, the best one on the menu was in bottle and Southern Tier IPA. (We are beer snobs, so that formed our opinion of their selection.) We ordered the grilled prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella appetizer. These would have been delicious if they weren't so salty! The sauce they were in was fantastic. I had a salad with their house made balsamic dressing and that was delicious, though my salad was overdressed in my opinion. Our meals were tasty and our server was excellent. Unfortunately, our first visit there was mediocre, taking into consideration both the atmosphere and food. We may give it one more try to see if the experience improves. read more

I'm not even out of this restaurant and I can't wait to write a review. This place is "da bomb" and I mean that in the very best way possible. We came on a Monday night for the all you can eat $4.95 spaghetti deal. With this deal you get hot freshly baked bread and butter and a salad as well. OMG. The bread was wonderful and the dressing on the nicely portioned salad was splendid. It is their house dressing, so definitely order that!! Our courses came out in a timely fashion and were all superb. The dish of spaghetti was nicely hot (temperature wise) and ample gravy (spaghetti sauce) was included. I ordered a sweet sausage and my sister in law ordered a meatball. There was plenty of spaghetti in the bowl too!! Klarisse was our very attentive server and we lacked for nothing. We all had a soft drink as well. The check came and I kid you not, it was around $25!!! An amazing amount of quality food for such a small price. None of us felt the need to order a second bowl even though it was "all you can eat". I watched the staff clean the tables very thoroughly and they even wiped each condiment/oil/vinegar/cheese/garlic containers on each table. Ladies rest room was also clean and fresh. I don't live here, but this is the third time my brother and sister in law have taken me here. In a way, I hate writing such a good review because it should attract more patrons and I may have to wait longer next time for a table. The only negative I can report was the table next to us had a very loud talking group of 5, sounded like they may have been realtors and had no concept of the idea that all nearby weren't t interested in hearing their conversation. read more

A hidden gem. First time at this restaurant and the food is fantastic. We had the bruschetta appetizer and was one of the best I ever had. The homemade balsamic salad dressing was delicious. My boyfriend ordered tortellini with roasted garlic and spinach and I had the chicken parmesan. The chicken was crunchy and the red marinara sauce was very tasty. The tortellini dish was good too. Absolutely fantastic experience here. Had the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella that's then grilled and served over red sauce. It was amazing. Then son had mozzarella sticks that were also really very tasty. Good quality. Dinner was tortellini with roasted garlic and spinach cream sauce. Stopped in last evening. It was Tuesday, which turns out to be steak night. None of our party of four ordered steak, but the chicken caccitorie, chicken marsalla, shrimp florentine, and ravioli florentine we had was perfection. 1st time in tonight and I was warmly greeted by the lovely bartender Nicole. She invited me to sit at the bar and went through the specials and the menu with me. She could not have been nicer. A fresh basket of hot bread arrived with my salad. At Nicole's recommendation, I had the house Italian dressing and it was delicious! For my entree I ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and a meatball. The meatball was tender and had wonderful savory flavor, like my Italian Grandmothers. The chicken parmigiana was out of this world. Very tender cutlet, deep rich sauce blanketed by ooey gooey mozzarella. This is my new favorite restaurant.
