Last night, my family wanted pizza for dinner. We recently moved to Binghamton area and we heard great reviews from NIck's Pizza. Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience. I bought a Lg Pepperoni Pizza, Lg Mushroom/Sausage Pizza, and an order of Garlic Knots. The first thing I noticed when grabbing a slice from the pizza box is how MINIMAL the amount of cheese they provided on the pizza. I figured, "Oh, they might've just messed up on the one pie." No, it was both pizzas that were like that. I've been to several pizzerias, and I've never had this kind of experience before. My kids even mentioned how there's barely any cheese on the pizza. I was hopeful that the garlic knots were going to be a kick since my wife loves them. We open the bag and what we saw looks like someone went to the supermarket, bought a bag of Hawaiian Rolls, minced garlic from a jar and some parsley to call it, "Garlic Knots." Arrived at 6pm for a section 5 basketball game nearby and were seated immediately. Slight weight for a server but she (Alexia) was excellent and served us quickly. Restaurant felt cozy, it was clean and busy. I had lasagna and my wife spaghetti & meatballs and both tasted great!! Tastes like authentic Italian and very reasonably priced. We were in town for a track meet. A friend who's a local recommended this place. It was pretty busy with lots of Italians of all ages eating there - a good sign! I got pizza with green peppers, light cheese, extra crispy - it was perfect. Thin, not soggy. Delicious crust, sauce and cheese. Also had house salad with house Italian - all homemade and delicious! I feel compelled to write a new review based on some recent visits including one where we dined in. First, the food is great and I'm still a big fan of their pizza. They've been a usual place for good pizza for many many years for me, BUT the competition for good pizza has really ramped up in the area. My last few pizzas there I just felt like the crust was soggy and could be better. It has been their style for years, but it just seems unusually sloppy compared to the past. But my rub and reason or knocking them down a few stars is because of the visit inside. It is a sit down restaurant and their prices seem to have gotten steep. There are a good deal of dishes there that are $15, $17 and even $20 now. For that, you get cheap silverware, somewhat cramped seating, and cheap brown napkins that you find at fast food restaurants. It is an ugly presentation. Portions seem reasonable, but I feel there are other places that provide more for the price but we didn't leave hungry. The straw that broke it for me is after spending $70 before taxes (4 people, no drinks or dessert) and then get nailed with a crappy 3% up charge for using a credit card. I'm absolutely fed up with the restaurants that hit you with this. Let's all grow up and understand that the economy and purchases EVERYWHERE use credit cards now. That's how its done. Price your product accordingly. If you don't like it the go cash only and clearly say so or push back on the big credit card companies and the fees they charge. Sorry, I don't carry hundreds of dollars of cash around in my pocket with the risk of getting it stolen. I like the convenience of tallying my charges and understanding where my money is going. If you are cash only business, I'll come prepared and at least know before I sit down and get told AFTER dinner the prices aren't the prices. Next thing you know, they'll be charging us for the brown napkins. read more

Had been asking around for a while what some good pizza spots are down here near Binghamton. Got referred to Nicks more than once! Got a pizza later at night was actually the last one of the night. Super nice inside area. The pizza was great! The dough was nicely done and flavored well. There weren't any dry spots, sauces both done nicely. An 8/10 pie wish the chicken was a little bigger, and the garlic had a little more cheese. One of the best I've had down here in the Binghamton area. We will BE BACK! Fantastic New York style pizza- one of the best crusts around. Best fresh from their oven. Dinners are pretty good, sauce can be a bit light and watery if the pasta is not drained well. The food is decent but the service i experienced was absolutely terrible. The waitress I had didn't really care whether i sat there for 5minutes or 2 hours. She was insanely slow to help me and after waiting 1hr 30min for a Meatball parm sub , I asked her if I could have the check as my food came out, so that way when I was done eating I could leave immediately because i was frustrated that it took so long, and another 20minutes went by until she brought me the check and another 10 minutes until i got my card back. Will not eat at Nick's again because of the owner, Nick. I, along with 4 friends went to Nick's for supper. I ordered the house wine for $6.50 and was delivered a glass of wine containing 4 oz , as confirmed by the waitress. I remarked that it was the smallest amount of wine I received in any restaurant I ever went to, all are at least 6 oz, and would not ever order wine there again. She went and told Nick what I said and he came over to the table with a wine bottle and poured about another ounce of wine in my glass while remarking the "some people always want something for nothing" and then left. Everyone at the table was offended by his remark, as was I, and all said they would not frequent his place again as a result. We have visited nicks a few times and had a very delicious meal every time. What I like the best is that they offer gluten-free chicken Parmesan. It is extremely good you would not even know it is gluten-free. I haven't been able to have many dishes like this in a long time so this was a real treat! Their tomato sauce is very good. I have known Nick for 45 years. He has always been a standup guy. Hell he is still making pie and he is the owner. The eat in experience is a bit crazy. The place is small. The customers are bigger than most of the chairs. The furniture is cheap. The waitresses have always been attractive ladies. His prices have always been lower than the deliciousness you are served. The dinner salad is small. Hello, it is is a starter salad. If you want more order an antipasto salad and share. You have to love customers who think they are at Olive Garden. Would love to see the fat reviewer who complains about more salad and more free bread, who then takes half their entree home after getting full from those items. The food portions are more than adequate. The pizza is delicious. One more thing most of Nick's customers are regulars. They have been going there for years. Many since the old Tony's days in the K-Mart plaza. There are a lot of people who walk out on bills at closing. Unfortunately for you in that area of Endicott there are a lot of unseemly elements. Lot of NY City dirt bags. Another sad fact is a lot of people make generalizations about strangers. Just because you saw others pay at the counter doesn't mean the policy extends to new faces to the business. Your fake anger over the policy made you tip less and cost the waitress two bucks. Went for a late dinner with my significant other, got sat at a table close to the front. Everything was perfect up until the check came. The total wasn't the issue to start there. The food and total was on point. While eating we noticed multiple tables leaving tips at the table and paying at the front of the restaurant. So seeing others do that, we assumed the same as we never sat and ate there before. As we get our check, we leave a $7 tip for our waitress(Denise) which was more than plenty since she really wasn't too present at our table throughout dinner. As we begin to walk to the front, Denise quickly came to table and addressed us for the payment. With confusion, I stated that we were heading to pay up at the front as we seen multiple tables doing so. Denise told us that the servers have a different bag for payment and that it needed to go through her. She made it seem as if we were planning to leave without paying, and my assumption on that is because my significant other is a person of color. She kept pressing the check and saying that it needed to go through her. After giving her our card I then took my $2 back off the table and left the $5. I asked one of the other employees and he stated that you were able to pay at the front and that shouldn't have been an issue especially since multiple tables were doing it. Other than that I had no issues the food was great but our server Denise quickly changed my experience there. It was frustrating that paying at the front was such an issue. The money goes to the same place so I don't get the big deal. My significant other felt targeted and disrespected. Would go again, just won't have her as a waitress again that's for sure. read more

In the couple of years I've been reading Yelp reviews and in the year or so since I've been posting reviews myself, I've noted that we who are locals sometimes have a different opinion of restaurants than we who are visitors. So it goes here. Friendly service, nice little interior, a parking lot in back are all good things. But the pizza was mediocre, the chicken parm was so salty as to be literally inedible (by a nineteen year old who will eat almost anything that doesn't run away from him), the pasta sauce seemed of "in the jar" quality and for that reason the manicotti was just OK too. Also the salads were the chopped iceberg mix. So for us the food quality is what sunk Nick's from a three star to a two star review. Maybe our expectatons were too high based on the other Yelp reviews. Context is important to share, I think, and so I'll share that my hubby is Italian in heritage and grew up eating great Italian food in Brooklyn and has good radar for Italian food as a result. So while we won't argue with the perspective of the local folks who review Nick's food as the best in the area, from our view it was not great and for purposes of other Yelpers who may be visitors to Endicott, we offer our perspective. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I have been going here for years. Every time the food is cooked to perfection and tastes AMAZING. You cannot get real Italian food like this any where in the area. Because of this, Nick's can get pretty busy, but it is definitely worth the wait. The staff is always friendly. The restaurant is clean. And the food is delicious. I always order their gnocchi. Their red sauce is sooo tasty! This comes with a salad and bread. Let me say this... even the bread is perfection. There will be days where I crave their BREAD! Because it is that good! And their ranch dressing-- there is nothing like it! I wish they sold it by the bottle because I would stock up on it! When we got there, the owner was telling us that we came to get our food too late, we acknowledged this but he kept pointing it out several times. When we asked if we can pay for the two orders separately he said "NO no you figure it out, simplicity, simplicity" - Our order was $70 and splitting two separate orders into two separate card transactions is a basic function all restaurants do.
