Had an early dinner at this place after the Vancouver Pride Parade and we had an amazing overall experience. We've waited around 20 minutes to get a table and staff were friendly and accommodating. Our server was very attentive and always check our needs. The Red Sangria was fruity and really good same as the Szechuan Lettuce Wraps. I did enjoyed every bite of my Soy Dijon Salmon. I went to the cactus club at English Bay yesterday. Myself and two guests one from out of town. We all ordered the Smashburger special and it was so small McDonald's burgers almost as big. Anyways, when I got home I checked cactus club site. It spoke to me two 3 oz patties. They are putting one 3 oz Patty in there. Very small. Very disappointed with what they're doing. Delightful setting for a delightful meal. Even on a cloudy day it's great fun overlooking the beach from the second story (street level) of this stylish location. We started with the crab and spinach dip, which was wonderfully creamy without being two rich. Then for entrees we have the ceviche--which was classically prepared with a nice hint of jalapeño to accompany the line--and the lettuce wraps. I particularly liked the couch of the peanuts and the kick of korean sauce in the wraps, and there was a half a head of iceberg lettuce to make wrapping easy. Cactus club has something for everyone. It's really a good place to have lunch or dinner with familly, friends or coworkers. Lots of options to choose from. I especially love the shareables. The creole crab spinach dip is to die for. So tasty!! Also a good starter is the scallop shrimp ceviche. The mains are also very nice, I have had the tuna poke bowl and the baja fish tacos and yam fries. So yummy! Lately I had the thaï red curry, the curry sauce was excellent but the chicken was burned in some places so that was a bit disappointing. Cocktail are quite generous. What an amazing view!! This restaurant has the most beautiful view overlooking Stanley Park in the beach. There was a little bit of a wait because we did not have a reservation. We were set on the lower level outside. We had a baby with us and they were able to quickly make accommodations for us. The service was great. And the food was delicious as well. I have the crab dip pictured below the aerosol, spritz, fries, and Cajun chicken. It was all very delicious. The Cajun chicken was a little salty, but still very good. Stopped by Cactus Club for happy hour after a walk around Stanley Park and had a fantastic time! We grabbed a table on the patio, which was perfect for enjoying the nice weather. We ended up ordering several rounds of the sunset soda (loved the bellini slush in it!), as well as the Longboard Lager. For food, we had the truffle fries, tuna temaki, and the Cajun chicken sandwich, all were delicious and hit the spot. Honestly, I have no complaints. There's essentially a dish for every culture and they're actually pretty good. We came here for happy hour at around 4:00pm. We didn't make reservations so we were seated downstairs. We waited around 20 minutes before it was our turn. Tip: If you make reservations you can sit indoors upstairs We got the mini crispy chicken trio ($15.00), crab cake with fries ($23.00), a bellini ($8.00) and a Hey Hibiscus ($6.75). The mini crispy chicken trio was a bit dry but I liked the fresh lettuce and tomato. The crab cake with fries was recommended by our server. She told us to order the crab cake with fries over the crab cake as it's more worth it. The crab cake with fries come with salad. The fries are crispy and so are the crab cakes. There was a bit too much flour in the crab cakes but other than that not bad. The salad was also refreshing. The bellini was as sugary as I remember it. Great for happy hour and the Hey Hibiscus tastes exactly like a Starbucks refresher (if you are into that kind of thing). Every time I go to Cactus Club, I get the blackened Creole chicken and this time was no different. However, this is the first time I've ever gotten broccolini instead of asparagus, and it was extremely welcome. Broccolini is so much better than asparagus in my opinion, especially for a soft mouth As always, the blackened Creole chicken was divine. The kind where you close your eyes with every bite so that you can taste all the flavours with less distractions. We came here as a large part of 8 + 1 child. We were totally sure we would not be able to get in because we were a large party and it was a nice day and this location is right on the beach. We were pleasantly surprised that not only were we able to get in, but we even got right outside along the fence line. We had a great view of the water. Our waiter was Mo and he took on the challenge of a large party! The food and drinks we had were incredible (I had the chicken tacos). Tom was the assistant manager/manager, and he was great in taking our group photo and gave us some extra attention. Sad we don't live in Canada, or else I would come here more often! They have other locations around Vancouver, but if you are near Stanley Park, I highly recommend checking out this location. We arrived at 3:45 much earlier than our 4:15 reservation and our host had us seated after only 5 minutes. The menus were provided and our server was with us not long after to give us water and answer any questions we had about the menu. The Cabernet complimented the meals perfectly and the bolognese was flavorful and rich. I wish I could have tried all the food but I was stuffed after the main course. The key lime pie was made in house which had a smooth and refreshing taste coupled with the whipped cream, my partner got the cheese cake on the house and he loved it. Came here with a friend on a weekday for lunch. Reservations recommended. There is valet parking across the street $11 -$13 per day depending what time you pull up. They actually don't check if you actually go to the restaurants you say you are since there is no validation. Came here for the view of English bay. we were seated upstairs in the dining room. There is a downstairs lounge area that is right off the beach but you don't see a lot of the view since you are tucked underneath. There are two levels, with the lower level having two sections (indoor and outdoor with heater during the cold weather). We managed to get a table outdoor since we didn't have a reservations. That suited us perfectly as we wanted to be by the beach for the view. The heater worked well in keeping us warm during a cool Spring afternoon. We were here just for drinks, and they were good. I'm not much of a chicken person, I'll pick red meat any day over chicken or even fish, but that day....I guess I wanted chicken. :| The chicken was so tender and juicy that it just melted in my mouth and with the right combo of sauces and ingredients......yeah...go try it. The Cheddar Burger was also nice, but I preferred the chicken...ironically. I felt the beef patty was a little dry, but honestly that was minor and I should've asked for it to be med-rare. For me it tasted a bit dry because I like my meat med-rare across the board....even with burger patties. This was honestly the best meal we've had in Van. I had the salmon and oh my god it was to die for. Partner had this crunchy chicken dish and that was also top tier!! If I could give Cactus Club 1000 stars, then I would. This location in particular reminds me of summer visits to see my grandpa -- something that was especially fun once I was of age and we could bond over peach bellinis. This time around I made the mistake of trying the squash ravioli and now it's the only pasta dish I can think about 24/7! If I could order this dish and have it sent down to me in the states, then I would do it once a week just to have the delicious meal. The wait time was long for the patio but we made it with less than a minute to spare before the sun went down...it was the last day on our first ever visit to Vancouver and this sunset view was what we REALLY wanted!
