hibiscus tea, frozen margarita, and pollo relleno
    Tony J.

Chain Mexican/Southwest (Cali-Mex?) restaurant location in Bellevue Square. Right next to the sky bridge from Lincoln Square on the 2nd floor, next to the parking structure on the northeast, and not actually within the mall itself. Pretty big restaurant, bright inside in part thanks to the windows. Went for lunch on a weekday and they were doing decent business, but not full. Scan QR code to see mobile menu, and they don't provide paper menu by default. Got a selection of drinks, typical Mexican restaurant items like tacos, enchiladas, fajitas etc. and also some entrees and seasonal items. I ended up getting the pollo relleno. It's fried chicken breast wrapped around a pepper, served on a plate of grits. Chicken has a little bit of a crisp on the outside, but it's not like crunchy fried chicken type crust. Meat was not dry. Pepper inside is slightly sweet and soft. Grits had a good flavor. Portion is pretty good, and was definitely full after eating all the chips with salsa and guacamole that they serve for the table. Also tried the frozen margarita and hibiscus tea for the drinks, and they were solid. Getting the food out wasn't the fastest, but not slow enough to complain about. Overall, taste was decent, portion is good, not too expensive.

    Brisket Chimichanga

Never been to this Cactus location before but we were at Lincoln Square so we decided to come here for an early dinner. Nice looking restaurant, mid to late afternoon before typical dinner time, this place was busy. We waited like maybe 15 mins for a table for 2. I haven't been to a Cactus in years so I was interested in having their food again. QR code menus....bleh Not old school where you get free chips & salsa, but we did start with chips & traditional guac as a starter, it does come with a salsa. Pretty good, seemed to be freshly made. As for our entrees: Brisket Chimichanga: basically a fried steak burrito. This was my main entree, i was just feeling a chimichanga so I went with it. Brisket was flavorful, wasn't greasy, tasty chili sauce on top, just enough sog, comes with rice & beans, sour cream and guac on the side. Smoked Chicken Flautas: pretty darn good, you can taste the smokiness. Salad on top, all on top on some Spanish rice. Kinda similar to the Chimichanga. We were pretty hungry so we woofed it down pretty fast. Service was fine with checking on us, refills, bringing more chips etc. Prices are what we thought it would be, glad we came by when we were in the area.

    Squash Enchilada

First time. Good service from the start. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted. We got the Squash Enchilada, Spicy Ahi Tacos and Carne Asada. Quantity wasn't much but flavors were tasty. The rice was cooked well. Inside looks clean. I quite liked it. We came during dinner and it was organized. Mexican food fusion. Private lot in back. Will return with my husband.

Came here after going to the Bellevue Square mall. Me and my wife sat at the bar and has a couple of drinks along with queso and chips. Our bartender was attentive to what we needed and did a good job on the drinks. There was plenty of available seating but this place looks like it can get crowded, so I'd probably recommended making a reservation.

Chips and salsa and guac (no free chips but free refills)

Convenient location, they weren't really doing reservations, only waitlist. The food is pretty tasty and I do like my Tex Mex food. The mocktail I got was also quite tasty. We did get chips this time and I knew it would cost money, though I did forget how much. I still feel like the waitstaff should mention it, because they ask about the chips and salsa prior to having a chance to look at the menu even (basically sit you down, ask if you want water and chips/salsa), and there do exist many places that give you free chips/salsa but want you to say yes so they don't waste food.

This is one of the favorite restaurants of my grandchildren, they alternate between Cactus and Din Tai Fung. Ask my 4 yr-old grandson what he likes here, he would say " the chips"!! And he is right, they serve complimentary warm chips and salsa. They were sooo good!! The staff is very friendly and efficient. We have great service each time we come here. Since we always arrive early at opening time, it is not noisy or very crowded. And we like the good here. It is located in the Bellevue Square mall, so plenty of parking.

The special. Bowl of Tortilla Soup and Southwest Chopped Salad

A good option for lunch or dinner in Bellevue. Tasty salsa. Most amazing Southwest Chicken salad! Though pricey. Chips and salsa are not complimentary with your meal. Ambiance is fun, views of bellevue way. Service was nice.

Cactus has been one of my go to restaurants for Mexican food. We always get their veggie nachos, soups, chicken quesedillas and prawn fajitas. They had Mexican pizza as seasonal special and I must admit one of the best pizzas, I have ever tried. Went the next week to try the Mexican pizza again and weren't disappointed. Their season squash blossoms are amazing. Their Tres leches cake was yum too.

    Chicken Fajitas 3/5

Not bad, but not super excited with our experience. I prefer the Kirkland location. Mexican street corn was definitely the best thing we got. Definitely would suggest as an appetizer. The chicken fajitas was a little dry and wasn't very exciting.

Service here at cactus Bellevue was amazing. This was our first time dinning here and staff was more than welcoming and friendly. They gave us suggestions and even gifted us a free dessert at the end as a gift. 10/10 experience and will be coming back!

Stopped by for drinks and appetizers during happy hour. The nachos were a good price but underwhelming. The drinks were delicious. The taco appetizers weren't too my partners taste and made him feel a bit gross. Service was great and the place was lively.

Super good spot..I am not a big Mexican food fan but this place is definitely an exception. I always love the ambience here. Always busy, always bustling with people.

Food is great but they are a bit slow with brining out the food. I would come back again and the ambiance is nice and loud.

We did, but we were early -- and he immediately told us it wasn't a problem. He cracked a few jokes, which instantly made us feel welcome and happy to be there. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and set the tone for a fantastic evening. We were shown to our seats but noticed the bar was open, so we chose to sit there instead. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He asked about our evening, whether we were celebrating anything special, and genuinely made us feel valued. His service and cocktails were top-notch. He took the time to understand what we liked, offered thoughtful recommendations, and every drink was excellent. On top of that, two different servers stopped by to check on us and let us know they were available if we needed anything while the bartender was busy. That level of teamwork and attentiveness really stood out. What started as a quick nightcap turned into a much longer stay because of how welcoming and enjoyable the atmosphere was. The staff truly made the experience. Highly recommend -- and I'm very much looking forward to coming back.

The menu shows off many colorful fruit flavored carbonated beverages all of which sound delicious. Sometimes its really good and addicting. Other times ive been, ive gotten a few drinks that were flat and very bland flavor as if they skipped adding some of the listed flavors. I dont fully understand why. The concept is simple, they use soda and add a scoop of fruit pulp, a pump or so of syrup, and a sprinkle of dried fruit bits. I could be wrong, but I feel like i noticed they use large bottle of the carbonated drink to pour many drinks, but they go flat over time. Which means some people will get flat drinks. On my last visit i ordered several drinks. One was bland and flat.I tried to get them to remake my flat drink, but they warned me it would still be flat. I insisted as my other drinks we had taste better having more carbonated spark and sweet juicy flavors. They remade it using the same bottle of soda and it was just as flat and bland the second time so I just tossed the drink and sipped on my families drinks that tasted amazing. Idk if i would recommend this location as it seems to be so hit or miss. Maybe just make sure they use fresh soda and also that they give you all the mentioned flavors. Hey, maybe on my last visit they just ran out of flavor and fresh soda and didnt want to tell me. When they make it right, its absolutely worth a try.

Nine enticing creations make up their menu, all of them being fruity and vibrant in color. Ordering is very simple on the kiosk as you just select your drink and also choose an Adaptogen, which is their version of a health "boost". A few of the Adaptogens are free of cost (I selected the immunity one), but other more premium options will cost a dollar or two extra. According to the staff member, most of the Adaptogens are flavorless. All drinks are $7 each and only come in one size. I've visited on two different occasions and both times, my seltzer was ready in just a couple minutes. + PINEAPPLE BREEZE: A refreshing combination of pineapple purée, passion fruit purée, freeze-dried passion fruit and a thin slice of dried pineapple. Both fruity flavors were balanced; I could taste the bright pineapple and the juicy tropical passion fruit. The seltzer was crisp and perfect to enjoy in the Seattle sun. The freeze-dried passion fruit dissolved over time, strengthening the intensity of its flavor with each sip. + RUBY REFRESHER: This drink included cherry purée in addition to lychee. The menu stated that it also includes coconut, but the employee who helped us said that they have never added coconut to the drink, so I'd suggest that they update the description. Additionally, she said that they were out of the actual lychee fruit which would have otherwise been placed on top, so she substituted with some freeze-dried strawberries. This said, the drink strayed from what was displayed on the menu, but it was still good. The cherry flavor tasted very natural and the lychee flavoring brought a juicy sweetness. With this being located within the Lincoln Food Hall, these seltzers are somewhat of a splurge, but are the perfect addition to round out any meal.
