It was a lot of food and ate half. Fry bed was good unfortunately I couldn't eat the cinnamon butter cuz ya know allergies, so I had it with honey. Carne Asada Egg - it's tasty. Eggs were over cooked but it was fine, I still ate them. But no matter which location or what I eat I'm allergic to something because I just itch like crazy on my face and my throat closes up. I've been to Cactus many times and each time I had went here, I always had a great experience and great food. I haven't made a review for Cactus yet but decide to do one now. I ordered the Spiced Caesar Salad with grilled Prawns. The salad was dressed perfectly and tasted really good with the grilled prawns. I wanted dessert as well when I went and saw there was a seasonal item which was the Canela Butter Cake. The cake was really soft and delicious. It too sweet and goes well with the sauce on top. Not a big fan of banana ice cream but it was still pretty good. read more

Our friends recommended meeting them here for some afternoon drinking and a bite to eat. It turned out to be an excellent idea! Food and drink: This place knows how to pour a margarita! They were potent, delicious and plentiful. And the food we had was uniformly excellent. We started with the traditional chips, salsa, guac and queso. Very yummy. For mains, each couple shared. Our friends had the chili relleno, while we had the brisket burrito. Both were outstanding. Service: couldn't have asked for better. A very friendly and knowledgeable waitress started us off. Her shift ended and we were seamlessly transitioned to a waiter who kept us lubricated and fed, adding a great sense of humor and just the right amount of interaction. We were well taken care of to be sure! Ambiance: Cactus is light and bright, clean and welcoming. Restrooms were spotless. All in all, this is a great spot for day drinking and catching up with friends. I suspect it gets very popular nights and weekends, so for us, a 3:00 arrival works great. Had a fantastic lunch at Cactus. My group sat out on the patio on a beautiful sunny day! I ordered the seasonal special of crab tamales- it was to die for. I was hungry and wanted Mexican food so I quickly searched a recommended meat retreat. Cactus was not too far off so it won based on distance. I was able to get on the waitlist for a table in the Yelp app so by the time I arrived my booth was ready. The inside was set up: an upscale bar area and family booths mostly. Although there were a few standalone tables and chairs it was kind of medium sized restaurant. Philip ,our server, wasted no time at all securing the water that we would surely need to our table. The SQUASH BLOSSOMS had 2 members of my party singing hymns. I was saving my appetite for the beautiful cocktails. The HIBISCUS CHI CHI is so yummy! We had 4. There is also the caipirinha that was featured the national drink of Brasil--if you like-like lime this is your drink! Oh also of note the guacamole by itself is decent but have you had it... Carlito's Way? Much like its namesake it's action packed full of good things. BACON, Poblano peppers, cotija cheese. The marriage of textures and flavors in the holiest of matrimonies. I've found a new favorite snack/meal. I love Mexican cuisine. I do. So, I know a great few to recommend. Cactus is one of them. If I could give this place TEN STARS I would. I would cash out all my karma points for my experience at Cactus today. I came in on a Tuesday at 730 pm and Elias was my waiter (I highly recommend being seated in his section, you will not regret it - because I didn't). It was not busy at all. I got my food relatively quickly. I ended up ordering - camarones del Diablo - ginger beer - seafood enchiladas Omg. You can TASTE the ocean in every bite of that seafood enchilada. Perfect blend of the vegetables and cheese. That Mexican rice with pumpkin seed and black bean with crumbled cheese. Augh. I fell in LOVE head over heels! Ginger beer. Authentic. I can taste the fresh sweet ginger with every sparkling drink. Wonderful palate cleanser. My shrimp? I had to save ONE for tomorrow so I can savor the last bite. I can't wait to come back another time. The restaurant gave me a complimentary flan. OH MY GOODNESS. Jesus take the wheel. All the flan I've eaten have been like a stiff, jello consistency. But this flan was so creamy, dense and sweet. I didn't know if I just took a bite of a soft cheesecake! Delicious creamy. If you're lactose intolerant, just risk it and eat it. I love this place! Second time I've eaten here recently and this time I had the summer corn soup, which was so delicious, and I followed that with a corn quesadilla (I love corn, what can I say?). My boyfriend had the chicken fried chicken, and he liked it, but not as much as the burrito he normally gets. If you're a nondrinker, the mocktail list is wonderful and none are over $6.50. Portions were so small, the manager voluntarily removed the charge. I was looking at my plate with dismay and he saw what I had, charged $30! And he stepped in. Cactus Restaurant was a real treat! I love when I am greeted promptly and kindly. And that is just what I received. The decor is fun and new without being too much. But, the food was on point. We met a friend and started with the guacamole and salsa. Very fresh and easy on the palette. We ordered the brisket tacos which were mouthwatering. Y'all this brisket was so tender and each taco was stuffed with meat. I love that the beans and rice were not salty or dry. The beans tasted slow cooked not canned. The chicken fried chicken which is not your ordinary fried chicken. This dish is smothered in a chorizo gravy with mashed potatoes with pico de gallo. It is a great take on a southern comfort dish with a spin on it! My hubby really enjoyed this dish. Only complaint is that the sauce on the chicken was a bit thin and so it was filled the plate causing it to look a bit unappealing. The last dish was the Brisket Burrita Lenera our friend cleaned his plate so I would say it was a Win! The drinks were delicious and paired well with our meals. Our waitress Tiffany was very attentive, funny, and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations as well. Before we left the manager blessed us with a free dessert. Their Flan was smooth and sweet. Food is delicious. Portions are smaller than normal mexican food portions, but that is more than made up for in the food quality and flavor. Venue is great, service is great. So, I ordered pickup enchiladas and guac from here and got held up in a meeting a little longer than intended yesterday. I got to the restaurant 45 min after my food had been made ready, and the manager let me know as much. She then offered to remake the food for me for free, which I accepted. I waited maybe 15 minutes, got the food, thanked her, and she said "I just want you to have warm food tonight!" To me, that was an unnecessary act of kindness that touched me. I got emotional afterward. I'm not used to people being nice to me like that for no reason, especially in a restaurant setting, so I very much appreciated that. Also she threw in chips and salsa!
