Within a few days of leaving Elevate and receiving proper care, he started to make a remarkable recovery - underscoring that Elevate was a toxic environment. Do your research. Google their rating on Medicare.gov. Google the complaints filed with the Illinois Department of Public Health. It's sobering to say the least. The lying and ineptitude was so appalling that I finally needed to have a conference call between the insurance company and speech therapy to resolve the fact that my insurance provider was never billed. For 6 months I was asked to pay for the whole bill. Why? Because my insurance provider was simply never billed. On a brighter note, the speech therapy was even worse. They want to have one on one sessions with your children without any parental oversight. Why? So they can bully your kid behind closed doors. Nice to your face, another thing behind closed doors.

They did not communicate about extra services added to her therapy. They did not offer a choice for receiving full time of services being billed. Their fees are also higher than comparable places, but adding the surprise "extras" without approval is in my view a real scam move. When I contacted their billing office to ask for a breakdown of their cost, I was meet with someone who was very defensive and ignored my request. A couple of phone calls later, I finally received an explanation of cost. From an ethical standpoint, it is very concerning how they charge. In my experience they showed me that they had a "don't ask, don't tell, just send the bill" attitude. If you go here, make sure you get a breakdown, IN WRITING, BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!
