    Hamburger and Rosemary Potato wedges.
    Kenya H.

So this is a hotel restaurant in the Embassy suites in Deerfield, Illinois. I would say the ambience is lovely and the service was excellent. The staff was very attentive and the food was actually pretty good. I ordered a simple hamburger with rosemary fries and although it lacked a little seasoning with a little salt it was fine. After quite the long day of travel I really didn't feel like adventuring outside the hotel so I'm glad that they had really good food to take advantage of as an option.

    Burnt steak.

Positive: Jessica, the waitress is very sweet. Negative: the $33 filet is incredibly bland. I ordered the steak medium and it came out rare. I waited 20 minutes for it to be taken back... it was cooked more but now the outside it totally burned. In addition, the almost half of the steak I had cut off was nowhere to be found when my plate was brought back. They didn't even both to reheat the sides. Total waste of money.

There are a few things you need to know about Cadwell grill before going there. 1. It is located inside Embassy Suites Hotel. 2. They are closed between 2 and 4 pm. 3. They offer coupons through Restaurant.com The atmosphere there is pretty casual, but the food is very good. They got a new chef last year who redesigned the entire menu. I really like the burgers and ahi tuna salad. The service is also really good. Especially, if you get Anna. She is very nice and helpful. Since Anna has been working there for a long time, she always has great suggestions. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service at Cadwell grill, and have been going there quite often.

    Spicy garlic chicken wings

This place is not good. The food is very mediocre. Maybe same quality and taste as a restaurant like Applebee's caliber? This is the only restaurant in the hotel Embassy Suites, so if you stay there, you'll probably end up eating here if you don't want to drive out or get delivery. I had their burger, which was nothing special and over-cooked. I've had the seared ahi tuna, and I could tell some of the pieces were bad cuts because they were veiny and too chewy. I've also had the chicken wings in the spicy garlic flavor. Again, nothing memorable and very average (or below average?) The desserts are roughly the equivalent of buying something (over-sweet) in the frozen section of a grocery store. Pretty pricey too. Service was nice. I would not recommend this place unless you were too desperate or lazy to get delivery or drive out.

Simple decor goes a long way.

It was such a thoughtful touch that made our celebration feel extra special. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful with such a romantic atmosphere. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Our server, Nathan, was exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The manager also stopped by to check on us, which really showed how much they care about their guests. I've dined at much more expensive restaurants before, and I've honestly never experienced this level of hospitality. The food was incredible 10/10! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The portions were generous, and I couldn't even finish my meal because there was so much delicious food. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. From the outstanding service to the beautiful ambiance and amazing food, everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you to Nathan and the entire team for making our anniversary so memorable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!

We came for an evening with friends and decided to take advantage of the Sunday "per la famiglia…read more(serves four)" special when we saw the menu. What looked like a generous offer of comfort food at a reasonable price, at a lovely Italian restaurant, was actually a gimmick worthy of Ebenezer Scrooge. Dinner started with a tasty chopped salad that would have been a reasonable entree for one or enough to share as an appetizer for two. It was a large spoonful each for four. The four garlic knots that accompanied the salad were each about 2x2x2 inches, and when we asked for a refill of both the salad and bread we were told "that's all you get." The spaghetti came with 2 meatballs in a portion size that looked like it was enough for an entree for only 1 person. We waited a moment and when no more came realized we were screwed. Later, seeing our disappointment, the waiter was kind enough to secretly get 2 more meatballs out of the kitchen for us to pretend there were portions for each person at the table. Had they been serving Italian tapas, maybe we could have pretended it was a fair approach. The 16 inch cheese pizza was good but nothing special and the tiramisu provided 4 small pieces a little larger than the garlic knots mentioned earlier when cut into squares. I don't know what kind of "famiglia" Salvatore "Sal" Lo Cascio, the culinary director at Ballyhoo Hospitality, or Ryan O'Donnell, the CEO, have; but they probably don't eat very much. Perhaps they expect the famiglia of their guests to be a single parent with young children or a group of little persons. In short, the food tasted good, the dining room was lovely, the service was outstanding, and the portions and prices were a complete rip-off to the point that the place should be put out of business. With two iced teas, a glass of house wine, tax and a generous tip the bill came to well over $100 and this morning when checking the receipt for this review I found out that they charged us $8.00 for the extra meatballs which the waiter pretended were a secret, complimentary addition. Not very nice!

Our waiter/bartender had a bit of an attitude, and some of his responses came across as rude. We ended up being there for about an hour and still noticed empty tables, so I'm not really sure what the 20-minute wait was about. I asked if I could substitute mashed potatoes for the baked potato, and there was also some back-and-forth about butterflying our steak. Since we wanted it well done, he kept insisting it would take longer, which we didn't mind at all. The steak ended up coming out not butterflied anyway, so I'm not really sure what the attitude was about. Overall, the food was really good, but the customer service could definitely be better. We actually stopped in to get some insight because we'd like to send some of our customers over from our business, so the service experience was important to us but we shall see?

We were all very happy. Not crowded at 11:45am and there seems to be plenty of staff. A regular in my rotation. Update: went Thursday night with 2 friends. As we got out to the car, one friend remembered he forgot his leftovers. Went back and box was already gone. It was actually 1/4 of a burger. Manager said we will make you a whole new burger. He said no no no no need. The manager insisted. Asked what he wanted on the burger and if he wanted fries and he said actually, it was just for my dog i.e. a real doggy bag. Nevertheless, they cooked him a whole new burger and sent him on his way. Really went the extra mile.

Thankfully,…read morewe decided to go as soon as they opened on a Saturday because they quickly put tables together for us, which we appreciated, and we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant was spacious and absolutely beautiful! Since we were a party of 10, it took a while to gather orders but we started with some drinks and appetizers. My nephew and I decided on the Strawberry Spritz. It was refreshing and tasted like Summer in a glass, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered the Warm Crab Dip but we didn't care for it. It lacked any type of crab or seafood flavor and had a weird texture. We added salt/pepper and hot sauce and it still didn't taste good. As we waited for our entrees, we noticed how dirty our silverware was. My spoon was actually stuck to the napkin. Our server brought out more silverware but some of us just opted for plasticware. My Thai Lettuce Wraps were delicious, it's one of my "go-to" orders and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I tasted my mom's Shrimp & Chicken Gumbo. The chicken tasted like tofu and it didn't have any type of gumbo flavor, I didn't like it at all. My nephew ordered the Chilaquiles and I thought it was pretty good. Overall, we had a great time just being together to enjoy my dad but I wish we had a better experience. Our server wasn't very attentive and some of the food seemed to miss the mark.

Crispy and flavorful 3/5 Stuffed mushroom - saltier than expected. Never tried this one before but it was quite salty 2/5 Cajun jambalaya pasta - this was a miss. It was highlighted as a special and I've heard it's amazing but I feel like we got a bad noodle batch, it was super overcooked and mushy. Pasta was overdone and it totally ruined the dish. Then it had no flavor at all, like it was missing the sauce. But I think that's how it is, a sauceless pasta? I never got it so I dont really know but I it had no sauce at all... it was plain noodles. The shrimp and chicken though had a great flavor and the chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. If the whole dish tasted that delicious we would have been so happy but the mushy plain noodles really ruined the dish, unfortunately. We had asked for crushed pepper to try and add flavor but they forgot. We kindly reminded the waitress but it took sooo long to get and the dish was cooling off by the time we got it. 3/5 Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake (Pecan Brownie and Caramel-Fudge Swirl Cheesecake, Topped with Caramel Turtle Pecans and Chocolate) - the cheesecake itself was delicious. The brownie bottom though was quite dried out and crumbly. We ended up eating the cheesecake part and leaving the whole bottom, which was unfortunate. We also ordered with extra whip and didn't get it. We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday and hoped they would have done a birthday treat but they didn't. 2/5 Service - waitress was really nice. Very slow though. It was busy at first but then totally died down and it was still slow. Never got water refills without asking, the three times we asked for items they forgot them and twice we reminded them and it took a while, once we let it go. So I liked the waitress in terms of personality, just didn't get what we asked for many times and slow service in general. Overall so so experience I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would have been. I was super excited about that pasta and it was a huge letdown.
