I had tickets to see Little Shop of Horrors at the Marriott Theatre attached to the hotel. It was a sold out show the day we went and freezing cold outside. Not wanting to park far and walk far for the theater hubs and I decided to have dinner at Three Embers before the show. It was a great decision! Making reservations was easy through their website and making last minute changes was just as easy. Three Embers is located in the Marriott hotel. It was a larger, open space room with tables well spread apart and comfortable seating. We sat at a nice cozy table by the window. It was perfect for the 2 of us. I can imagine the view being stunning during the other seasons, but being January my view was of snow and more snow amid branches. We were quickly greeted by our server, Anna, who was warm and welcoming. We had bread and butter (delicious), served water right away, and another staff member switched out our table light for a brighter one that was fully powered. Anna took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. We started with the calamari which was delicious! It was perfectly fried with the calamari being nice and tender, complete with our favorite parts the tentacle ends, and well seasoned. Hubby ordered the porterhouse which as prepared spot on, medium rare! The fingerling potatoes were SO DELICIOUS!!! They were crispy, fluffy, tender, and such a good accompaniment to the steak! Honestly as a carb lover, I'd be happy with just a big plate of the crispy fingerling potatoes. The carrots were sweet and prepared just enough to be tender, but with a crunch. He appreciated that it wasn't boiled or steamed to death carrots. I ordered the Black and Bleu salad. It was a large portion salad, perfect for dinner without being heavy. The steak was prepared a medium rare and topped with delicate crispy fried onion strings. Everything in the salad worked so well together making it a nice cohesive entree. The really enjoyed the grilled corn in the salad! The dressing was a light dressing and had a hint of sweetness, but not overpowering the flavors. Unfortunately my steak was a bit on the fatty and gristly side so quite a bit had to be discarded. This was the downside to the salad. Overall, the meal exceeded our expectations and didn't fit into what some would think of as "hotel restaurant food." The prices are on the higher side, but for some of the conveniences and location, it was worth it. The service was wonderful! Anna was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and so sweet! We never felt rushed. She checked back after serving us each course to make sure everything was good and had perfect timing sensing when we needed our check to make the show. I can see why other Yelpers rave about having her as their server! I would certainly come back to Three Embers for dinner before a show. Parking was easy as we were there before the show, parked at the hotel and entered through the hotel. We walked from the restaurant to the theatre without ever having to step foot outside in the freezing single-digit temps. read more

Ambience was great. I loved the welcome from the greeter, he was very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious. I ordered the mushroom tostada and sea scallops. The scallops were large and very fulfilling. The pickled fennel added much flavor to the dish overall, I was pleasantly pleased. The tostada had me wanting more, it was very fresh and a great started for the scallops. My husband ordered the bleu cheese steak, although he thought the portion of mashed potatoes were small, he was completely satisfied with the meal and said the steak was tender and delectable. We decided to eat here before walking over to see the show at the theater, White Christmas. The menu is diverse and amazing. They had my favorite Chardonnay - Butter. The service was great. As soon as we were seated, they poured the water and brought butter and rolls. We ordered the duck breast and the barramundi. You get 3 pieces of medium bread with a nice flavorful of fat. It comes with this great puree. The barramundi is huge. We had them swap mashed potatoes rather than grits. We then had the creme brûlée which was okay. Not sure we'd order this again. This place was a wonderful surprise..when we arrived it was very busy, with many patrons there for the Marriott Theater Christmas show. The manager, Tiffany, had everything under control, helped us get seated, and even provided a helping hand to the servers. The meal was delightful. We had the unlimited prime rib (and they mean UNLIMITED!), along with the best homemade whipped potatoes I have ever had. The bordelaise sauce and horseradish were perfect, and the musrooms...all I can say is this was a stellar meal! Plating was beautiful, and cocktails (many made with local spirits and the resort's own apiary honey) were refreshing and delicious. Our server, Christian, was attentive and knowledgeable. He knew the menu and provided excellent suggestions. Desserts were beautifully presented - I had the creme brule with a wine and fruit reduction that was just wonderful. The decorations were up for Christmas , but not at all garish; just very elegant. We will be back! read more

Quite mediocre but I don't think I expected more from a Marriott hotel restaurant. The plus- OUR server was fantastic, older gentleman, funny, attentive without being intrusive, engaging. We felt bad as we were the only table in there and as awkward as you would think it would be (1 server for 1 table in a empty resto) he made our visit enjoyable with banter and laughs! On service alone i would give him 5 stars!!! Now everything else, the venue was very cold- I was in a sweater and it still felt chilly to a point of being uncomfortable- this could be because no one else was inside this very large restaurant. The food- there wasn't a lot of healthy options at all, so I opted for a salad with salmon which was delicious. Just with there we're lighter items to choose from as if we had to dine there more then once I wouldn't have had anything else to order. We didn't order any drinks as we were exhausted but their cocktails sounded amazing- and their desserts also sounded AWESOME!! Sadly we were too tired to want to get dessert. read more

Presentation was better than food. Not that the food was bad. The filet was good. The fish was nice and so were the scallops. Appetizer hummus platter was small and hummus was a bit watery. Was there for a Sunday bunch. For as large and wonderful as the resort is, the brunch fell short of being memorable. The service was good, as we made a rez for our group and got seated quickly. I think if they would add some good lighting over the food, it might be more appealing. The bacon and sausage were good the egg mediocre, French toast rubbery, pastries reasonable fruit was fresh. So for the cost, it's really not worth it, but if you're staying there it's the only brunch around. read more

Three Embers is the higher-end restaurant at the Marriot Resort in Lincolnshire. Since it's right inside the complex, it's a great option for dinner before heading to The Marriott Theatre for a musical. The food was great and the service was good as well. Based upon the way the Theatre and the Resort are built, in some respects it seems as though the restaurant is on the other side of the resort. However, there's an elevator outside the restaurants that, if you take it upstairs, will let you out on the second floor near the bathrooms for the theater (and vice versa). This makes it one of the two most convenient ways to get dinner before (or possibly after) seeing a show at the Marriott, and I really appreciate having the option since they know how to get you in and out quickly for the theatre. read more

Never been there but I was charged for being there and I cancelled in the allotted amount of time. I was still charged and no one has attempted to contact me to make it correct. Even after I tried to dispute the charge with my bank. Based on the way Marriott has been treating their customers I am guessing the place is nothing great. The other reviews state the place is big and cold. I did look at the food online and it looks pretty basic and the portions tiny. So it is a shame that they took my money and I never had a chance to even see if they had decent food. Not a way to run a restaurant. Must be the reason they are always empty. Makes sense why they would take my money from me. Really is a shameful thing. Don't ever prepay for a meal at this place. They don't follow their own rules because they cannot afford to. Another visit here. We have our fave server, Anna, who goes above and BEYOND for her patrons. Excellent service, food above board and dietary restrictions met. Also, timing was impeccable. On my first visit to Three Embers (on a recent weekend evening prior to a show at the Theater), the food was OK, but the service did not match up with other reviewers' glowing reviews. VIBE: The dining room is cavernous, almost stark and a bit dim. Not a fine-dining feel. Noise was not bad (the room was not nearly full). SERVICE: The host was cordial and helpful in fulfilling my seating request for a well-lit table. Our server was rather cool and assertive, pressing us for a drink order before we'd had a chance to look at the menu. Food pacing was very poor -- when our drinks arrived, the salad followed immediately, no chance for us to relax, and the entrees were delivered when we were halfway through the salad. FOOD: Beet salad was innovative and nicely presented. Salmon was quite good, nicely cooked and presented wit roasted radishes, another nice innovative touch. Scallops were so-so -- a bit overcooked and rather gritty, as scallops can (but shouldn't) be; they also tasted of beef fat, as though they'd been cooked on the steak grill (not off-putting, but weird). The list of wines by the glass was adequate, if quite middle-brow. Strangely, there was no bubbly besides prosecco by the glass, contrary to the menu, which listed 3 or 4 bubbly choices. I've become rather jaded regarding hotel restaurants; either the food is mediocre, or the service is lax, or both. In this case, the food at least was generally OK. Embers is an obvious choice for theater-goers, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here otherwise. read more

My wife and I went to this beautiful restaurant inside the Marriott last night and it was a funny experience. We called originally to make a reservation for 615 and they told us that was fine and then we realized it was gonna take a little longer to get there cause we live an hour and five minutes away so she called back to see if we could change the rise to 630 and the young lady that answered the phone said oh absolutely not they were booked solid, so we rushed home from work early we got there plenty of time checked into our hotel room and went to dinner and then when we got to the restaurant this big huge restaurant with maybe 50 or 60 tables only had one other couple in there at 6:30 so the lady that took the reservation was either full of crap or nuts we ordered off the menu which is very gourmet and I needed an interpreter to understand some of the stuff on the menu. I ordered a salad which was cooked lettuce and I'm allergic cheese. They had to bring me a mint vinaigrette dressing, which was OK then we shared the trout which was delicious. It was stuffed with vegetables and came with vegetables and rice. It was wonderful, after that, we looked at the dessert menu and again needed an interpreter and ordered some Keylime something something which was not pie but like a Keylime pudding with whip cream and a few berries on it it was good. It was very good but time we're going to play at the Marriott will try the other restaurant that's attached because we looked over their menu. It was actually written in English, which is more to our case the restaurant is called right and it uses the same kitchen, but the food is a little more American so that's why all the food was all delicious but because of the menu because of the reservation, I'm only giving this four stars read more

I discovered this new hidden gem last night, and what a great experience. I loved everything about it... Let's start with the space; they recently went through a whole hotel renovation, which included the two new restaurants, Three Embers and Wright's Brew. I loved the layout of the restaurants. It was an open area concept with an exposed kitchen. The interior was something along the lines of a high-end modern loft. What especially got me excited was the outside area, who doesn't love string lights, fresh air, water view, and bonfires to compliment your meal. Especially since our summers are so short, I always look for an excuse for outdoor dining. The food... amazing!! The food is so flavorful and delicious, presentation is on point and I love how they play around and bend your traditional ideas of the ingredients. I never knew you could pearl balsamic vinegar... what?! The veal dish came with crispy well-seasoned mushroom, I ate the whole thing and I don't even like mushrooms. In addition to the food being delicious, all the vegetables and honey is from their onsite garden and aviary, how amazing is that? They change the menu once a season depending on availability of the garden, always keeping things fresh and on our toes. They have 14 beehives on premise, which is the gold fuel the honey badger beer they brew and the ever so perfect honey butter for their salted table bread. UGH, sorry for drooling on my keyboard. The drinks were so good, the blueberry coconut lemonade which was refreshing and a light vacation in a glass. Some amazing dessert sorbet vodka drink that complimented the chocolate Pavé perfectly. BTW can I say that I love how we are bringing 'city' dining experience to the suburbs? Service was also great, quick, attentive and very friendly! Came here last night for my mother's birthday... first time here and I was impressed! It's towards the back of the hotel and is super cute. They have a small "fall 2018" menu which you'd think you would have difficulty finding something you'd like but that's not the case! They had a variety of steak, chicken and fish along with some great appetizers. Dinner plate was about $30 which was expected and the quality of the food was there!! I got the shrimp appetizer which is good for 1-2 people and then the angler fish. First time having angler fish and it was amazing!!! Well cooked, soft but firm and tasted kind of like lobster! The desserts were fantastic as well, they had apple cider creme brûlée to keep in the fall season... and it was really good all three of us at the table had it. The staff is all really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu so ask questions if you aren't sure. Definitely will be going back! read more

Three Embers in the main restaurant in the newly remodeled Marriott Lincolnshire hotel. It has an interesting design - a lot of exposed metal and fixtures. The space is very open and there is seating for about 100 people. We stopped here for the breakfast buffet in January. We were the only people there at 8:00am on a Sunday so we were seated immediately and had great service. They have a selection of hot and cold items with an omlette/egg station. The bacon, muffins and fresh fruit were all very tasty. The food was pretty good by Marriott standards and we all left happy. The standard price for brunch was $20, but ours was included with our rate. I would not choose to get breakfast here if I was paying, but it serves its purpose if you want to stay on the resort. They have a full dinner menu and offer free appetizers to Marriott Rewards members. read more

I'm a Marriott Rewards member with over 700,000 points and I mention this to illustrate that I've spent hundreds of evenings at various Marriott locations and restaurants throughout the country and by far the customer service at this Marriott owned restaurant was the WORST I have ever experienced! My wife and I were craving a good steak and were excited to hear about this restaurant, thinking it had to be good as most Marriott Resort properties have better than average standards. After driving around the parking lot for over 20-min to find parking bc a local high school was having their homecoming at the resort, we settled-in at the restaurant with our drinks and bread only to find out upon ordering that they were completely out of steaks and it was only 7:00 PM. When our server called the restaurant manager (first name Guye), I explained the unfortunate inconvenience and he responded "what do you want me to do...go out to the store and get you one?" I expected perhaps some expression of empathy, whenever issues have occurred at other restaurants I've heard managers picking-up tabs, providing complimentary desserts... but NEVER have I heard such malice and behavior as uncalled for as this. My wife and I were so appalled and offended that we just got up and left, totally ruining our hopes for a nice dinner out without the kids. This individual should not be managing a restaurant and I don't believe the Marriott brand would appreciate this type of behavior as a black eye on their usual reputation of quality customer service! I would not recommend this restaurant based on poor customer service and for heaven's sakes, order enough food to tie yourselves over for a full day of service... you shouldn't be out that early (unless that's poor planning on your Managements part)!!! read more

We came here for dinner to try the food because we were are using the space for our wedding next year. So for 1, the service was awesome. Habib was our server and he was funny, attentive, and have that service that makes you want to come back to a restaurant. Then they had a magician coming by tables and he was great. Went on a Saturday night, pretty empty weirdly for a hotel? The waiter was nice. This used to be a pirate ship themed place or something, but now it's two restaurants. That's life. Anyways, I don't have much of an impression of the duck and fish we had, but the steak was quite good! I'd get that if you can afford it. Fries were nice part of the steak. The cheese appetizer was kind of passable. I don't know, it's a bit on the pricier side for me and the ingredients were cool (some pickled grapes!). Maybe would come again. Worth it if you're staying at the hotel it's at or in the area and need a nice date spot. read more

Got the Chef's special tasting menu so got to taste a bit of the short rib, white fish, and the scallops. Highly recommend!! This place was great. We made reservations 2 weeks ahead for a group of 10. We asked to sit at the chef's table. A couple of days before i called to confirm the reservations and tell them that there will be 8 of us instead of 10. They said no worries. This place is a little hard to find unless you are staying at the Marriott. A friend of mine went a couple of weeks ago and posted it on Instagram. That's how i found out about this place. It's a really nice sophisticated restaurant. Something you would find in downtown Chicago. The decor is modern and the lighting was beautiful. The chefs table is right in front of the big wood stove. It fit 8 of us very comfortably. Our main waiter was Habib who was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. He took our drink order and explained the menu. There were two options for each course, 4 courses in all, not including the desert. The chef Jesus (Chewy) is fabulous. All the food was delicious. We had a couple of ppl in the group who were picky eaters and even they enjoy all the food. My favorite was the duck. We were going to a play at Lincolnshire Marriott and decided to go to Three Embers in the building. Lovely environment - open space, high ceilings The waIt staff, Habib and Edward, were very attentive making for a lovely experience. The tomato soup and lamb shank were outstanding. The mixed green salad was fresh and tasty with honeyed walnuts, grapes adding texture and flavor. The scallops were good as well, but not as great as other items. We came here before a play- we have eaten here many times before when we purchased the meal as part of a package with the play. Then there is no additional costs and your plan is set. That was always a good deal. But we came here as a customer without that package- and then the experience turns AWFUL. The prices are exorbitant, the service is terrible- and the quantities are very small. I ordered a soup for 7.00 and literally, it didnt even cover the bottom of the bowl. I was shocked. My wife ordered fish and received two squares- we left the restaurant hungry. I will NEVER do this again. At least with the package, we only paid about 40.00 per person- here we were charged over 100.00 and we were extremely dissatisfied. We will make a better choice in the future. read more
