But every menu item absolutely hit the spot! -Onion Cheese Twisters 100/10: A buttery, flaky pastry twisted with bits of cheese and minced onion and served with a seasoned sour cream based dip. This appetizer is light and tasty, not like anything I've ever had and it is a must-order. -Rahm Schnitzel 9/10: A golden cutlet topped with house-made white gravy. Served with some flavorful spaetzle. I typically prefer spaetzle shorter, but the flavor and texture were there and hit the spot. The gravy is creamy, but not nearly as flavorful as the Jaeger Schnitzel gravy. Still a great option. The size small was still a very filling portion. -Jaeger Schnitzel 10/10: Again, a generous portion for a "small". This brown mushroom gravy packs tons of flavor. Definitely hit the spot. We have been here a few times. It has changed ownership since our last time but the food was still really good. We started with the APPETIZER COMBO; One pretzel, two potato pancakes and three onion cheese twisters. All were very good and I would order this again. I had the WURSTPLATTE For sausage lovers! Sausage plate featuring our house recipe Nuernberger, Bratwurst and Bier Brat served with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and brown gravy. I did not have this last time but I would definitely have it again. It was awesome. My friend had the Easter Pork Special which she said was amazing, tender and tasty. All the food was good, the beer was not mine but cool in a boot and the other glass was just as big. The place is cool, we got there early, around 4:45 and by 6:00 it was filling up quickly. The food is good, our server, she was friendly, answered questions and was the only server there and even when it filled up, she covered all the tables with no issues and always made sure our drinks were full and that we did not need anything. I had forgotten that daughter Michele and I had been here two years ago. The server/manager took our order. I had the Rahm (chicken) Schnitzel with white gravy and German potato salad. Michele had Bratwurst with dark gravy and potato fries. My full order came with two schnitzels so I brought one home. They were out of apple strudel so we split a blueberry one. Service was great. Beautiful atmosphere with a professional, kind, and hardworking staff who clearly take pride in their work. The food was spectacular, made from scratch--the flavors reminded me of a small mom-and-pop restaurant I used to go to as a child with my family. Our waiter recommended their goulash soup, and chef's kiss! I had the Jäger schnitzel for dinner--absolutely delicious. Great wine selection as well. I would recommend making a reservation, as nearly every seat was full (which made me happy to see!). The food here is Authentic. It's a cute little place sharing a parking lot with a gas station making it easy to miss. That would be a mistake. This place is very good. Came in for an early lunch. We tried this place while in town for CES. It's a real departure from the Hofbrauhaus on the other side of town. We decided to get the potato pancakes appetizer and the large sampler platter. The Nurnberger Sausage was OUTSTANDING! Pork schnitzel (could have been pounded out much thinner) and sides (rotkraut was a bit dry) were OK. Ambiance is very basic and pleasant. We had been wanting to try this place and decided today was the day. They were not busy at lunch time but I can imagine they are for dinner. You can make reservations online which is awesome. They have a TV on with German cooking shows and then German music playing to add to the vibes. The food was delicious. We shared the potato pancakes and pretzel as appetizers and both were delicious. This family owned and operated German restaurant is an absolute favorite first time dining venue. It's been on our "want to try" list since before it opened and sad it took us so long to make it there. Friendly staff welcome you as you walk in the door. There's a bar area plus tables and booths. They have cozy ambient lighting but it's bright enough you can see and read the menu. Pleasant background music that compliments the rest of the atmosphere. You can hear your dining companions speaking to you. Food was fantastic. We couldn't decide or settle on just one entree so we started with the potato pancakes, the sampler dinner entree (enough for possible 2-3 people or one very hungry individual), and added the potato salad. We've been coming to this quaint German Cafe for years and unfortunately, our most recent experiences have been rather disappointing. The food quality just isn't how it used to be from maybe 3-4 years ago and I think it is consistently declining. The chocolate cake for my daughter smelled and tasted old and her cheese spaetzle was just doused in cheese. Just like everything on the menu, Doused and overflowing in sauce for some reason. The service has always been subpar, the server always forgets something whether it's your drink or the pretzels or adjustments like sauces on the side etc. They always seemed absentminded. The only thing that hasn't changed are the draft beers... it's really hard to mess that up. I was stationed in Germany for 4 years , 1985 to 1989 when the Berlin Wall was still standing , and of course grew to love German Food and of course German Beer ( Bier ). Whenever I go to other places on vacation I even look for new German restaurants to try. I've been in Vegas since 1991 and used to go to Alpine Village , Cafe Heidelberg , and even the Hofbrauhaus. Cafe Berlin is soooo much better than Hofbrauhaus and the prices are also better. The owners are from Cologne , Germany and the food has flavor , not bland like Hofbrauhaus. The owners and staff are friendly and the selection of foods is very good and also beer selection and desserts. I normally get the Jägerschnitzel which comes with Spaetzle and of course a good German beer. For dessert I like the Apfelstrudel ( Apple Strudel ) with cream and vanilla ice cream. I've brought many of my co-workers here so they could try it and we normally will get a Wurst Plate and the Jägerschnitzel and an Appetizer Plate which comes with a Pretzel , Potato Pancakes , Onion Cheese Twisters , and some sauces , so we can share and they can try stuff they've never had. Everyone loves it and comes back usually asking me to come with them. I also would come almost every year with my son for my birthday. At Octoberfest they have the special beers that come in. They also have Black Forest Cake , Cherry Strudel , and Blueberry Strudel. Of course the Apple Strudel is my favorite. I've had many different things on their menu. They also have a buffet once a month and I miss it every time ! I'm either working or I forget because it's the first Saturday of the month for about 4 hours. I need to set an alert on my phone or something. I would definitely recommend you make a reservation for the buffet if you plan to go. A few highlights: Service - efficient but nothing that made it stand out friendly of a smaller place like I would expect. Prices - a little high IMHO. Ambiance - simple/basic. Cafe Berlin was a great spot for a German meal. My party of 12 is a woman's book club and we meet monthly at different restaurants in the Las Vegas Valley. One of our members suggested Cafe Berlin and we were all very pleased with the experience. The restaurant is lovely, clean and simple. You can go for a hearty meal or a romantic dinner, it is quite versatile. I called ahead and requested a table for 12 and notified them we would be bringing a cake for a birthday. The restaurant was very accomodating and the service was prompt considering there were only two servers, the kitchen was ready and the food was prepared fresh and delicious. The pretzels are so good and we recommend getting the mustard cheese dip. The pork schnitzel was light and crispy and the bratworst and spaetzel were so good. The restaurant had a few regulars come in and out while we were there so you know it's a good and consistent restaurant. We ordered a pitcher of beer and tried cola-bier also. Have heard about this quaint little German Cafe a couple times so we gave it a try. It's surprising, tucked away off of Decatur in a small shopping center, it was better than we expected. The place was almost empty when we entered, uh oh, it's 5 pm on a Friday. Thirty minutes later several tables started moving in. I got the idea that a lot of these were regulars, that's a good sign. The service was good and the place was clean. Everything was served hot and in a timely fashion. The Rahm Strudel was very good as was the Red Cabbage. The Beef Rouladen was a bit tough. How does one try and write a review about an experience that brought you back as a kid, at your Oma's (Grandmothers), house, cooking you a meal. My wife is German and I am half so I may be bias. Cafe Berlin is like finding a diamond in the ruff. It is located behind a gas station and beside one of those chicken places. As they say, "If you build it, they will come". The place is warm, inviting and not too big. There is German music playing in the background which says it all about being real. The service/food is outstanding! If you want cooked from scratch, 100% authentic home cooked German food; you owe it to yourself to go to Cafe Berlin. We had to have the potato pancakes for an appetizer followed by their sampler plater, and it was to die for. Of course you have to wash it down with some German Beer, and they are happy to serve it. We went at kind of a weird time so it was pretty empty when we arrived. The atmosphere has a relaxed feel. Music was more upbeat like a German dance vibe. There was 1 host/server but he was friendly. I ordered an Oktoberfest Hefeweizen beer and it was one of the best beers I've ever had. We also ordered a bier brat sandwich, potato pancakes, and apple strudel for dessert. All of the food was delicious, the bread on my sandwich tasted freshly baked, and everything was cooked perfectly. My only gripe would be the price. When I saw the prices we nearly walked out. Any full entree was $30 or more which is pretty steep. My sandwich was $17 which for a basic brat with onions is excessive, and with a single brat sandwich, potato pancakes, a beer and a strudel, we were at over $70 with tip, for lunch. The food and ambience are excellent but honestly I probably won't go back because it's crazy expensive. If you love German food, and the prices don't scare you away, then I would recommend giving it a try but if you don't like paying $70 for two people to have lunch and one of them is basically eating a snack, maybe look for other options instead. read more

Went to Cafe Berlin with my family members for Octoberfest. Didn't want to go to a crowded restaurant where we would have to wait for a long time to get a table. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived, even though we made reservations before we got there, just to be on the safe side. It's not a very big restaurant, but it's a nice size for family dinners. Parking outside is limited because of its location. Our server took our orders quickly and helped with some of the items on the menu that we were not familiar with. Once our orders were in, we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. The food was great and tasted just as good as the German food I had when I was stationed in Germany many years ago. The dishes were seasoned to perfection, and the German beer was really good. The chef really did an amazing job making the dishes. The prices are very reasonable, and the menu gives you a lot of food choices. We will definitely be going back to Cafe Berlin to try more of the wonderful dishes. read more

If your into German Cuisine it's right up your alley. Came in for an early evening bite. Enjoyed a nice Hefeweizen (Paulaner) severed in traditional Glass Boot. Ordered up the Potato Pancakes & Nurenberger Rostenbratwuerst (one of my favorite German dishes). The Nurenberger was delicious - cooked perfectly, the Potato Pancakes were a bit burnt for my liking, I couldn't get past the burnt taste and they needed a bit of seasoning ( always one my favorite dishes at a German Restaurant) but this was a bummer. I would give it 4-1/2 stars if I could - it really didn't live up to a full pledge 5 star review in my opinion. Well give it another try thats for sure.
