Sausage & Pesto inlet with bacon & tators

On the fence with 3 or 4, so here's how the two compare. Given the area, it's attached to a hotel, well priced, and brekky was better than I would've guessed ... kinda brings up the stars to a 4. But if rating strictly for food, atmosphere and overall experience then barely a 3, but maybe had an off day? Hubby is a Diamond Doubletree member so brekky is comp, and I wasn't expecting much. We came down around 930 and every seat was taken including a group of 40 in the back. They were not staffed for the breakfast rush. In fact, we waited 20-25 mins before anyone acknowledged us or that we (and a few other groups) were even waiting. Seated after 35 mins, a table near us waited 20 mins to get coffee/water and the lady leaving when we were seated told us worst breakfast ever, ice cold when delivered then never saw anyone again. Now our experience wasn't as bad. Once seated and the large groups left, service was better. A bit slow but the food was ok. Although not so tasty that I'd repeat the wait again and would've been happier with a Starbucks brekky sandwich. But we're here for 5 days so I'm going to stick with oatmeal other visits :)

Good heavens is this little sweet treat of a cafe hidden, but well worth the venture into the hotel, for its delicacies proved worthy of any possible confusion. We did not come for dinner this evening, but instead, a rare occasion, simply dessert. Sometimes that's the best way to do it though. Generally you won't get dessert at places because you're too stuffed from dinner, so coming for dessert was a nice change of pace and BOY oh BOY did Cafe Bricco DELIVER! Our waiter was friendly, fun, not annoyed by the fact that we weren't ordering meals too, and just an all around pleasure. He kept our water glasses full, which was key actually, because these desserts could certainly be rich. We ordered tiramisu, pistachio gelato, I had an Espresso Martini with chocolate drizzle, and the boys had caramel apple cheesecake. Is your mouth salivating yet? Because I'm about to pass out over here just reminiscing with my taste buds - overwhelming nostalgia. The cheesecake was rich and creamy, yet not overkill with the topping, syrup not too thick, and a nice hint of apple. My Espresso Martini was strong *good on ya, bartender* but not overpowering, and the perfect crisp cold temperature I need in a sweet alcoholic drink. The chocolate drizzle swirled into the cocktail making it that much more enticing. The pistachio gelato was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH delicious. We almost didn't order it because I felt like we had enough, but the waiter recommended it and I am SO happy he did. The tiramisu was UN-REAL. Seriously. I was in absolute love with every bite I took, but also had to limit myself from becoming so stuffed that my pants burst. Okay okay, I was wearing leggings. But you get the point. Made fresh and you could tell! Rich sweet mascarpone cheese hitting your lips with the exterior of nicely dipped espresso ladyfingers. Unbelievably perfect. The night was a huge hit all around and these desserts were, quite literally, the cherry on the cake. No that's not true. We didn't get any cherries! How about chocolate drizzle on the latte, or the caramel on the cheesecake, instead. You get the point ;)

Blueberry pancakes, the top one was dry from being under the warmer. Blueberries were frozen, not fresh. The other dishes also lackluster.

Delicious. Very reasonably priced. We all ordered different things including a breakfast pizza and it was wonderful!

This place was just what I was looking for in the Akron area…read more Fresh Neapolitan pizza & fresh pastries attached to a coffee/tea shop and even a gelato shop! This is definitely a place to hang out while waiting for medical appointments, enjoy a sweet treat during a warm summer day, or meet friends for a light lunch and coffee. The food was great, the chai tea was a nice mix of spicy and sweet. My pastry was wonderfully balanced on the palate while still retaining a strong chocolate flavor. I saw some people criticizing the service as confusing, I guess that's understandable but I don't agree. When you order your drink, it comes out quickly so they most likely expect you to just wait a minute before grabbing it and your table number before going to sit down. The ladies behind the counter were nice and efficient and clear with directions regarding water and where to get the drinks and food. Like I said, I didn't have any problems with service or its directions. Not to mention they have 3 different kinds of spots to hangout and eat suiting your mood: a patio, a darker "dining room" (pictured below) and a bright gelato spot. Highly recommend! I will absolutely make this my Akron hangout spot.

It could have been better…read more I had been to Café Arnone a few years ago when we first moved to Akron and remembered it fondly, so I suggested it when meeting a friend for coffee last week. When I arrived around 1:00 pm, the café was quiet. There was no one at the counter, so I walked around to find someone and ask where to sit since the space has more of a café feel on one end and a wine-bar feel on the other. I was told to order at the counter and sit anywhere. I sat in the front area to wait for my friend. Once she arrived, we went up to order. I asked about a menu and was pointed to a sign on the counter. Since it was my first visit in a while, I asked the employee what she recommended, and she flipped the sign to a breakfast sandwich called The Sal. I ordered that. I then had to ask about beverages, as none were mentioned. I only wanted water and was directed to a carafe on the counter to serve myself. Our food came out within a few minutes. The presentation was a little disappointing. I chose the vegetable side, which turned out to be two carrot sticks and two celery sticks lying in a small puddle of water. The sandwich looked good, but when I took my first bite, it was overwhelmingly salty. I understand bacon is salty, but this tasted like an excessive amount of salt had been added. After a second bite, I brought it back to the register and asked if it could be replaced, which they did. My disappointment wasn't so much in the mistake, but in the lack of acknowledgment--there was no apology and no follow-up to ask if the replacement was better. The restaurant wasn't busy, and while I'm sure they have many regulars, the lack of greeting when I walked in and the lack of follow-up stood out to me. I did appreciate the wall of ancestors--it was a nice touch--but overall the service felt disengaged. Maybe it was an off day, or perhaps inexperience from a young staff. I may try again in the future, but this visit fell short of expectations.

I ok with that but not everyone wants steak. They had no choices for chicken or fish. The service was good at best , because the people who came in afterwards were served their food and on the way out and we had not been served food yet. I did see on the menu that they had banana fosters. That a joke it was bread pudding with ice cream on top and 3 slices of banana . I told the server this is anything but bananas foster and I felt insulted. She immediately took it off the bill. To which then I explained to her what bananas foster really was and she said it sounded good. She's never heard of it. Also I ordered mashed potatoes and I was told it was not up to standard and I have to make a second choice.. I will try to celebrate with my wife my 73 birthday with a nice dinner . The bill was over 200. And my did not get a steak, just a salad and soup. Not happy.

Unfortunately, the rest of the visit fell flat. My cocktail was way too sweet. And at $21, your drink should be perfect. And the bartender had no intention of building any kind of rapport, bordering on rude. The food was decent, but overpriced. Needless to say, I will not be going back and do not recommend this restaurant.
