I got the Canadian bacon hash patty loco to try, and my bf got the fried rice with spam and eggs with coffee. It was only like $14 for a pretty sizable, yummy breakfast for 2. Quite a few people at ~8AM but they clear the line super fast and take credit cards. They're in a plaza so plenty of parking lot. Definitely an adorable little gem that's family owned. We both loved our food - very flavorful, not too oily, and there are just so many options! I'd honestly come by for breakfast every morning if I lived or stayed nearby. I really like this place! Big portions (I'm a bit of a pig), cheap prices and good service. They have a variety of loco mocos and pretty much all their plate lunches are tasty. Beside the loco mocos I've had one of their specials, the jumbo hamburger steak with mushroom gravy, that was so ono! I've also had the fried chicken which was just ok. But overall this is a great place for good food at more than reasonable prices. When I come back to Hilo, I'll be back to Cafe 100! read more

There was so much selection that we had a hard time deciding lol I ended up with the loco moco which was super good the brown gravy was very thick and had so much taste. Kind of similar to L&L in what they offer for food. The menu looks a bit outdated as far as the decor, not what's on the menu. I had the loco moco plate which is what they are known for. It was pretty busy the day we went. Lots of Big Island locals request this spot. It was pouring and there was a long line. That pretty much says a lot! The French fries were thick and soft, reminds me of the fries at Burger King but bigger. It was delicious! We also ordered some cheeseburgers for the road. It's plate lunch (dinner actually) so you get 2 scoops of rice and that versatile macaroni salad that is also potato salad, and in this case coleslaw too! It had cabbage underneath it! We also got sweetened iced teas that tasted like Juicy Fruit gum. Is that how a "Local" iced tea is supposed to taste? Not sure, really. If you don't know what a teriburger is, "Teriyaki burgers" are like sweeter hamburger patties. Not necessarily because it's bathed in a teriyaki sauce, but it has secret flavoring.
